Yes it does.
At the beginning of the day, people make money, and their happiness is factored into it. When you collect taxes, you are collecting money they make. So, if they make a lot of money with high happiness, then tax it with high tax, then lower the tax and raise happiness, so they can make more money all over again.

O.o I'm not sure where you got that from... When you collect taxes it factors in your CURRENT statistics. Not what its been for the past day.

I fought him yesterday and killed a lot of his men. We were evenly matched at first then I guess he didn't go online yesterday which allowed me to get more men and crush him.

We need to bleed them to death - putting a nation into anarchy here, destroying a person's infrastructure there. We can break their ability to wage war without breaking their nations apart, and I do not believe we are strong enough or may ever be strong enough to just trash another strong alliance. Hopefully the same can be said for other alliances eying us, but I would not count on it.

You should start recruiting ppl off of CN itself, put in some policy's and then wait till your around 100 members and break them up into squads of about 25 ppl in each(try to keep them all within each other strength range so they can help each other) and when they're attacked the squad leader should follow diplomacy first and tell the offender to cease hostilities and stuff. After you get stronger you should open up relations to alliances and make friends. The GPA is a neutral alliance and would probably make a treaty with you if your serious about it.
