Although I'm being called a warmonger, I want to tell you guys that nobody wins in the war. Even if your lucky enough to steal technology, the pause in your economics cost you much more.

I have just received several messages from TOP, claiming that Fela has attacked one of their members. TOP is many times stronger than us, and a war with them is out of the question.
I am taking the opportunity to launch a brief investigation into the incident, as we have a limited time before they declare war on us. They are demanding $100,000 compensation.
Questions:
1. Why did Fela attack TOP?
2. What is the most sensible course of action?

I was talking about immediate action to avoid war. If it turns out that Corinth (whom Fela declared war on) was guilty of aggression against one of our members (as Fela claims in his reason for declaring war), then we must decide whether to abandon principle and pay the compensation, or persuade TOP's leadership that their member attacked first.
As I said, war is not an option. After the Arthas Affair I think it's important to get to the bottom of events before taking action.

We will not pay if we're not guilty. A bully alliance is getting on us for nothing. You as a Council member should seek help with other powerful alliances. Such injustice shall be heard, and maybe a solution can be found.
Go speak to leaders of other alliances and tell them the story. Maybe they can help us to solve this peacefully.

You really need to get another alliance to help us, i don't think there is much chance of a 100,000 compensation for damage possibly less then 10k. I personally refuse to pay that much money... it's outrageous

We need a damage report and then we can pay him back in the amount of:
•Cost to replace soldiers
•Cost to replace infrastructure
•Cost to replace technology (if any)
•Cost to replace land
•Cost for bills
And that of course is assuming a reasonable amount for each loss. Also did he have the alliance in his affiliation when he was attacked? if not then there was no way to of known that he was part of an alliance ( i assume ) and paying a tribute that large is just crazy.

Felagund is a rather trustworthy person. I hesitate to do anything before I know all the facts though.
If Fela says one of our nations was being bullied, why don't we ask him which one? Then we can ask said member if its true.

Ok, just making sure there was no possibility that she'd forgotten to put her affiliation down, causing Fela to attack her unwittingly.
One of the rules of our alliance is that members may not declare war on nations affiliated with another alliance. I'm just trying to determine whether Fela is guilty of breaching this rule. So far it looks like this is the case; the punishment is exile. However, as compensation is requested, I think an amnesty should be extended on condition that he pays it in full.
Of course, we are still waiting for his reply, but he doesn't seem to be online.

Hi - I'm litigator02, the Grand Master (President) of TOP, the other alliance involved here. I'm also a huge Starcraft fan.
I think a day should be enough to figure out what happened here - I'll offer a ceasefire until noon ET tomorrow. A number of our members have already declared war on your member, but I've asked them to hold fire until we get an answer on compensation.
The compensation, by the way, is going to be about $200,000...you can see the itemized bill above.
