Our admin now feels it necessary to spend time on checking for people like him.
And if they don't, what's the point of the beloved rule that DEAD broke? If they don't check, why is there a rule against it?
As for respect:
Like has been said before, DEAD hasn't changed. He's still the same person he was before. I respect him just as much as always.
Sexypinkprincess is an excellent melee-map maker and also a pretty good melee player. I respect him as well.
Everyone else here I'm pretty much neutral to, with the exception of shocko, who I have little to no respect for, but that's beside the point.
As for what's happened:
Who gives a crap? He broke a rule, he was punished, life goes on. Get over it.
That's my opinion.
...because they don't want people to do it? You don't murder people because you know it's wrong, not because there's a law against it. You shouldn't speed just because there's no cops nearby, it's still just as dangerous. They don't want you making extra accounts because they consider it harmful to SEN (whether you agree or not, is irrelevent).
Enforcment of a rule has nothing to do with why the rule exists.

DEAD is not a criminal. In other words, he shot with a paint ball at the president, not harming him.

But then that means he's a terrorist and should be punished.
If you're going to use that analogy.

Damn terrorist cockaroaches! Protect the SEN Trade Centers!QUOTE

That's actually still a crime. Unless the president agreed to play paintball, it's somewhere along the lines of harrassment and physical assault.

And my point is then why that rule exists. Aside from rigging polls and gaining useless minerals, how are multiple accounts harmful to SEN?

They take up database space, and make everything load slower?
It's harmful to the community if everyone is completly anonymous. If people don't recognize you, the community loses stability. Rigging polls means you're disrespecting the creater of the poll, and wasting his or her time.
Flaming isn't exactly harmful to SEN either, but it still is hurtful to other members' experiences.

True, but so do a bunch of accounts that haven't been used in over a year. Those could be deleted, too.
I see the only harmful reason for multiple accounts being the idea that you can spam like crazy with a bunch of accounts. But there's a rule against spamming (that isn't always effectively enforces) that should take care of that.

Hardly. A few accounts will do pretty well nothing seeing as we have a few thousand inactive accounts anyway.

And what if you believe polls are already a waste of time?

Good one. I like that point.

Actually, 5000+ inactive accounts clutters the database, and causes lag. Sorry buddy

Exactly. I'd worry more about deleting all the inactive accounts than multiple accounts.
I don't see what all the fuss is about. DEAD broke the rules by having multiple accounts.
He also used them in a malicious manner once. He has to be punished.
I do, however, think that his punishment is quite harsh, given the lack of damage caused and his presumably harmless intentions. DEAD has, in my opinion, improved a lot since the Kellimus days.
Edit: If the outcome of the OSMap poll was affected by his rigging then perhaps the level of punishment is appropriate.

What if the OSMap vs NoOSMap poll was rigged? It's not a waste of time to the creater, and his or her decision to make one should be respected.
FYI, that was one of the few polls that were very likely to affect my decision.

Well on that poll I do seem to remember a disclaimed that said the decision of the poll may or may not directly affect the decision of the administration. I rarely take polls seriously.
QUOTE
Note that this poll is not binding in any way; we can make our policy independent of this poll if we so choose.
Is what I meant.
EDIT:
I stand corrected.

The Kellimus days?
Yeah that confuses me, too. Are you saying that DEAD is more mature than he was then, and using the Kellimus incident as a time reference?
If I were this "Kellimus" person, I would be offended by that comment because it makes it seem like he was all bad and such..
Who is Kellimus anyways?
