I have a few ideas to suggest for a later version of SCMDraft2, if it is welcome.

If possible allow multiple folder layout options:
#1- Standard StarEdit Layout
#2- SCXE Layout
#3- SF Layout
#4- Clutter Layout (Just Units Without Folders & Subfolders)
#5- Project Layout (Extremely Organized for Advanced Map-Makers)
#6- Add all units that crash the game, as in FartyEdit (If Reasonable)

If you decide to use the following suggestions or appreciate the ideas plz PM me.
P.S. Is it possible to add any of that stuff?

You're asking way too much...

#1- That layout isn't convenient. SO, I think you should just forget about that.
#2- That is the exact same as #1 except for a few more units.
#3- This one has it's possibilitties. But, why worry about it. SCMDraft is so much better.
#4- This is kind of pointless...
#5- I have no idea what you mean by this.
#6- This is your best suggestion.

I would like to hear more about your #5 though. Because I think I have a general outline of what you mean. I'll elaborate what I think would be cool.

Also, @ SI. What is SCMDraft coded in? Plugins are cool! wink.gif If you catch my drift.

You can change the unit folder sorting easily by modifying stat_txt.tbl and adding a fourth MPQ to your profile, or add the SCXE mpqs for their sorting. I dont plan on having a folder for each player tho.

Its coded in C++, see the sample plugin for example, but plugins can be done in any language that can make a win32 DLL

I don't think it's hard to do, the examples I showed you was made in paint which where I got the skills to make Retro GRP Mods. I can do photoshop by having the locations have part transparency or in MS Paint and remove colors diagonally.

Oh oh! That wold be so farking awsome! That would make my life SO much easier. This would be one hell of a step up to people that work on RPG's. That would create a whole new level of organization!

That's true, you should see the examples I made for SI. I know that SI can do better.

you have no idea whats involved if you think its so easy. your examples used a different shading method which doesn't stack and isn't limited by the 8 bit color palette of SC

I think you should be able to place certain units on not allowed terrain like xtra editor and starforge. Also, for tanks and goliaths, it doesn't allow you to change their attack power. Perhaps that could be added? Thats all the problems i ever see.

Those are the only problems? Good, because they're not problems.

You're already able to place any unit on any terrain. Simply go to Options>Units and check "Place Units Anywhere".

SCMD2 changes the settings for goliath/tank just fine for me. Are you thinking of their turrets?

People: you really have to start LOOKING instead of simply posting in "bugs" and complaining about it. Look around in "Options", post the question in this forum, but don't post in "bugs" unless you've determined it's really a bug.

For project stingray, if thats still happening, or for anything, just a suggestion:
What would greatly ease my mapping problems would be the ability to make folders for triggers.

That would be a great!

Great idea Rantent. I never though of that.

If this is possible, it would revolutionize map making! Ok, maybe not revolutionize it... But it will sure as hell be a great addition.

This might have already come up but what about map protection? Could that also go into SCM Draft?

I believe there may be a plug-in for it in the future.

But, yes that suggestion has been made! bleh.gif

But, none the less, it will make SCMDraft, that much better!

Cool. Another one that I know has already come up...
•Adding the full list of player colors to choose from instead of only about 15 of them

Impossible. The colors after 15 depend on tileset, certain conditions, etc. Too much to keep track of (and some things unknown).

Could you plz explain further?

Also, SCMDraft2 needs a feature that places a square of terrain in the very middle of the map... Good Idea?

....and terrain copying if possible...
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Urmom(U) on 2005-11-22 at 19:26:01
There already is a 'copying terrain' feature in SCM Draft. What is the point of the square terrain in the middle anyways?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Dr.Shotgun on 2005-11-27 at 00:14:50
SCMD needs brushes. If you can, try and use/make compatible with the StarForge
.sfb format.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Joshgt2 on 2005-12-04 at 20:01:17
Here is one that could be of good use. When you look at X-tra editor, you will notice that when you change the units name in the units settings that it will also change the name of the unit when you go and select it and put it down on the terrain. In SCM Draft, this will not happen. I can name the SCV "BOB" but when I select the SCV to place it on the map it comes up saying "Terrain SCV" instead of like X-tra editor saying "BOB". This is only something little but this woud also be nice to have.

Another thing is the copy and paste text color thingys. There are none of those that I can find in the program and the only way of doing it is by typing something like <7> and you get the color.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Arbitrary on 2005-12-04 at 20:13:34
1. Everyone knows what the units are anyway.

2. The text file for the colors should be around here somewhere. Not that it matters to me, I just use StarCraft Colors (for OSX)

I have that file... but still. Some people (like myself) like the fact of seeing the units name that we named them when placing on a map. This is only a suggestion. This does not have to be one of those big cases

Got another one... hahaha.

Renaming switches... I can't seem to find out how to do that if it can even be done... I am not a big fan of going though and losing which switch does what. I don't feel like going into another editor to do this either since I have stacked about 200 units and X-tra editor will delete all of them...

SI, for player numbers, do it like this:
"Player 01"
"Player 02"
"Player 03"
etc

That way Player 10 will be after Player 09.

This is driving me crazy:

Take away the race prefix!!!! Like "Zerg Zergling" or "Protoss Scarab"

Make it just "Zergling" or "Scarab"

ADDITION:

Or make it toggleable.

There's really no reason to take it away, or make it toggleable for that matter. Could you provide one instead of just saying how it drives you crazy for some reason?
