Nope Golden-Fist you got it wrong XD... I do not spam now, yes I did use to spam at one point. Now I don't even come to this site that often, don't know why Syphon said i was spamming.
Oh yeah you never spam, your always very well envolved into the fourm and post paragraphs on what's going on. Except replace paragraphs with sentances, and in all the sentances put "lol" every 8 words.
I'm sure
this, and
this, were all very contributing to the community.

And also Null section shouldnt even be considered as a post XD... People get a lot of post from there, I never go to the null section, I only hang out around the art, clan, gaming, and maps in production section.
Can't imagine why:
QUOTE
You see, that's where I disagree with you. Especially if the thread is "WHICH ONE IS BETTER, TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK"
Especially if it's in the null..
So it's not spam if I post a single non-contributing post into a poll where someone can clearly see my option by pressing "See Results" because it's in Null.
It is contributing though. It's on topic, and you're doing exactly what the topic starter asked to do.
And maybe people want to know what you think. I can't tell what Mini Moose voted based on a poll count. =\
So you're saying that if the topic starter says: "Everyone say LOL!" and everyone said LOL, it's "contributing" to the forum?
Your logic sucks.
No, because that thread would be spam then. I don't appreciate being told my logic sucks, either.

The topic starter wanted people to vote on the poll, and maybe say why (Or nothing at all). That doesn't mean I can just have a one worded post that says "Other" that's stupid.
I don't think other would be a good post. You should at least try and specify what your opinion is more. But, if it's a thread in the Null like, what "Icecream cone is your favorite?" I don't think you need to explain, just saying "I like waffle cones" or "Waffle" should be enough.

Or maybe not post at all? Since your not posting anything that explains why you like them, people can look at the poll and see "Hmm someone likes walfes". Unless if your a super stalker and really want to find out what a specific member's favorite ice craem is, then you can Privite Message them if it really matters so very much.
Well, the question wasn't which one do you like and why, and if it was, it'd probably go in the lite discussion(unless the topic is very unserious.)
But either way, I don't think this is spamming really. I think spamming would be more along the lines of posting just to raise post count, or jajajaja.
QUOTE(Deathawk @ Jun 18 2006, 06:14 AM)
So an admin would have to rate people every day...?

No, the value stays the same unless it is specifically modified for some action of the member. And what would change it? Donating? Getting warned?
New members would start at 1.000, and the value would be decreased when you are warned or otherwise punished based on how much the staff member thinks it deserves to be dropped. It would be raised if the a staff member thinks you have been really good, have done some special thing, or some other good behavior incentive.
Maybe I missed something... DTBK, how will the result of that formula change a member's life on SEN ?

And you're going to cry because it's the truth? Seriously. Your logic implies that if the thread starter says to do something, it's okay to do it, regardless of the forum RULES.
Topic Starter: "Hey everyone! Flame me!"
Everyone: "You're dumb! You're an idiot!"
You: "Oh, it's okay that they do that. The thread creator told them to flame him"
That is EXACTLY what your logic is implying. How does that logic not suck?

It can be used for rank promotions such as Regular and Elite that there was a 15-post argument about people spamming to reach.QUOTE(Kellodood @ Jun 18 2006, 03:30 PM)

But answering a question in the null forum isn't breaking the rules... flaming is. I didn't think I needed to specify that.
Again, I really don't appreciate being flamed.
Then I guess the truth hurts you hu?
It's not my fault your logic is faulty.
In an ideal world nobody would reply to a topic like that. Too bad that's never going to happen.

Maybe it's because everyone follows Deathawk's logic?
I don't think you're getting what I was trying to say. All I was saying is that I don't think you should consider 1 word answers to a question in a thread that doesn't ask for why counts as spam.
Of course, a thread asking a question, not asking for an explanation would be found in the null. Answering "yes" to a question in serious discussion without adding anything to the conversation is spam.
Posting one word for an entire post anywhere else, is spam. That doesn't change in Null. Your basically cheating the laws of spamming in your "logic" which sort of brings up Kellimus' version of your logic. Since it seems all rules are not present in Null (According to you) if someone asked to get flammed, they could be flammed and nothing rule breaking would happen. And since when has someone said:
"Hey which one of these movies do you like the best. Don't tell me why you thought it was better then the rest, or why the others sucked. All I want to know is what you liked, and since the poll above obviously doesn't tell me enough, I want each person to a single word of what they posted (And for the options that have a whooping two words, then say the number it's listed it). Any more information is something I didn't ask for, and is spam"
For some reason that never happens on SEN.
What?
The null has lower posting standards. There is naturally less discussion in the null because there really isn't supposed to be, because the thread would be moved to light discussion.
I never said that rules aren't present.
I think "Movie A" is an adequate answer to the question "Which one of these movies was better, movie a, movie b, or movie c." You don't have to explain why, but you can. I never said explaining why would be spam, so I don't know where you got that from..

Interesting to see how members will rate eachother. I think the same thing will happen like in a poll like this:
My map is realeased, what do you think
-10/10
-9/10
...
-1/10
-Z0MG ZOMG IT SUX, iVEN THE SHIZZIEZT MAP IZ BETTER, LOLOLOL, RAWRZ RAWRZ, GG GG !!!!111
People will vote the last option becawse hey, it's sounds so "kewl". Remember, SEN is a place where 12-15 year old people hang out. If they don't like your nick, or maybe disagree on some question with you in some topic, they will give you low rating.
Members being rated my members is for more mature forums I think.
If you take some time to work out the numbers, the member rating doesn't have that huge of an effect on your final reputation. It also increases in magnitude based on how many people have rated you.

Your true there. I didn't look much at the numbers
Flame? What flame? Ah... but I see spam...
Reporting to the gods doesn't help, never does, never will. I wonder why that button even exists.
I wonder what the point of flaming is... is it really worth the 0.2 seconds worth of pleasure only to recieve major dings against your reputation from the moderators and public?
Ratings are overrated. (har har har).
It's just a number given to something from someone. Not all ratings are pretty nor are they real. Just live with it.

People who stick to that kind of logic: going with the person who gave the low ranking because their insult sounds cool, are just people without any ground on their own feelings, motives, and thoughts and are as useful as mindless grazing sheep; easily swoon by the greenest looking grass.
Don't worry about it... the most important rating... is the rating on the hard work you put into your work. Ah that is the most important rating indeed. Rank high.
