That's why I disagree with people who say reporting makes you a wimp or one of those other insults. It's better to report than to flame back, which is stooping down to their level. It not only gets them in trouble but it gets you in trouble. It doesn't make you superior "owning" them in a flame war, and it doesn't make them either, which is why you can ignore it. Reporting is just a way to let the mod know that there was a flame, and by reporting you are not condoning the breaking of rules, which is a good thing.

Some people think you can just ignore a flame all together, while that is a good option, putting in a report makes sure that the breaking of a rule doesn't go unnoticed. Don't be a bystander and allow people to break the rules.



That's just because some of the contraversial things he's posted have to do with Melee and UMS, and also that, by coincidence, most of the Melee'ers share the hate of certain Staff and the site.

I'm not against Melee, it's just how it is.

Also I don't really care about ihatett, it's just when people start complaining about the Staff and Administration and bad mouthing the site is when it gets annoying.

Well Yoshi already said he flames everywhere. I’m not familiar with Puni’s offenses. However its quite clear to me since we have started with the stricter Swearing filters that were trying to cut back on flaming. So lets not discuss what punishments were taken on other members in the past. Were not going to relax what we have done because someone else did it as well. We would rather go warn the other person as well. But no specific examples have been brought up allowing me to do this.


Yeah when I warn someone I review over there warning log. If you want to consider that a grudge than that’s fine with me. Warnings should hold some sort of meaning if we didn’t look at your warning log to be able to see things like “you have had a flaming history” then what is it for?

When I keep looking into the matter I just see more and more occurances like this where Ihatett starts the flaming. If you can point out any times when someone else starts flaming him first (within the last week) then i'll warn them. I dont' understand why you guys are so hardcore accepting of letting him flame others.

What if that log hasnt been added to in awhile? (Unlike America's way...)

According to Yoshi you don't hold anything against people, complete unbias, that was supposedly why his punishment for puni was light, because the main things he did wrong were "so long ago". Such is my point.


Me and ihatett both started in the melee forum, we both have a tendency to do what you call flaming, coincidence? If you don't want him here I want to know why I'm still here.

Believe it or not, I don't get off on spending several minutes to make a post no one but a few good friends pay heed to. That's why I got pissed it was buried under 3 pages. Everything is done and in the past, ihatett still has an account here so there's no need to argue. I'll leave you in peace unless you have any striking questions.

Now while I may agree on some levels with the hard-nosed, take it or leave it approach, I think that's a pretty stupid concept.

For some reason or another, they are still here. They like or enjoy something about the site. If they didn't like it they would never even come here or have come back after that first visit. They think that something is wrong with the community and feel that they should do or say something about it. To just come off with the tough :poo: type of attitude is not only being for one thing, rude, but for another, ignorant. If it's one person who thinks something, it can be sometimes just written off as just a personal issue, but as more people join in on it, it usually shows that something may in deed be wrong. To just write it off as just the way things are is an ignorant approach to whatever issue, imagined or real, may be. Almost any person can bring something personal and unique to a community, now while some people may not like what that person contributes, it's still should be acceptable as long as it is within and set rules. The grey area now is what is considered inside the rules. I personaly see no problem with a little inteligent flaming used sparsely. Yet, the way it does end up is that the interpreters of these rules (mods, admins, etc) get the final say on things. You may disagree with what they decide, but the bottom line is that they are in charge and do suffer from whatever flaws come from their positions of power.

I don't really know what I'm trying to accomplish by saying that, but I guess it just gives a general way of how I feel. It just irks me to hell and back that people seem to want to make so much drama. Why can't we all just enjoy ourselves? Why does everything have to be so serious? It's a damn fourm for an 8 year old video game, you don't have to be so anally retentive and uptight about everything.

Only specific ones. Things like "Help me on my map" or "Teach me xxxxxx". I never said I ignore half of them though.

Yoshi, why are you ignoring the fact that I always get insulted back? When someone reports a post, don't you actually look at the thread?

I'm trying to show unbias. And I have not done any actions against Puni for a long time.

Actually, I recently made a topic in our hidden staff forum about how I want to split the cost, because now I have the money to maintain a monthly support, so now I'm going to do it. When did it become your business? Never. So stick your nose into something else.

I'm not the one always doing the moderator actions. Maybe they are punished via PM. You are free to report their posts as well.

I think he's implying that there must be some reason that many people from the "Melee" forums are on the bad side of the moderators.

Oh my god, you figured it out. The entire time we decided that it would be fun to have melee forums and selectively pick out certain people from them and single them out just for our own sick pleasures. Yes. We REALLY enjoy wasting our time like that.



If they're recent from up to a week, or we wont remember if action was actually taken. We don't always post about it you know.

I agree with Mrrll.. very entertaining.

Don't use report. Just make a list and send it to me. If its reported, I ignore them sometimes because moderators deal with it and so on. I get a lot of requests for moderator action, and if you want me, individually, to respond, you have to PM it.

Ugh, in each thread there are like 20 flames, I don't want to PM each one. It's worth it if those people get suspended, though.
