Hey, you guys mind starting back up your splash screen production? I'm in the middle of options and would like to code the stuff for in soon. If I see one I like, I'll post what I do/don't like about one.

Yeah, I agree. Don't go heavy on the name Firegraft in terms of literal interpretation. Remember, this is a modding tool for Starcraft. smile.gif

Here is my attempt at the splash screen. Now that i think about it its probably too big. If you like it but want something changed just ask.

Edit: Added a smaller version.

I like that. I think the green and blue should be darker and you should try and blend in the text from the Protoss campaign menu thing a bit better.

I like the first one better, and you might want to fix up the text. (I can't read it, it blurred out when you re-sized it)

just move the dark archon a bit down and I give it an A+

Spawn Broodling

Set a new Broodling life timmer.. 0 to 999999 or even make it so they don't die.

Allow or find the value that determines how many broodlings spawn. Whether its 1 or 2 or even 4, 6 or whatnot.

Remove the larva??

I think he/she means that Firegraft is already supposed to do that, but you can't do that with any of the current tools.

I think there is no need to have this "version I" text. It would be up to DoA what version will he release, no?

I agree except i dont think it should have a version at all, you never know how many times it will be updated so you dont want to have to change it each time do you??

The text from the Protoss campaign(im assuming you mean the green text on top of the Dark Archon) is the best i could make it.

I did not just resize the image, i manually moved everything and cropped the image so there shouldn't be any blurring. I checked and everything is the same to me from one image to the next.

That was just an example of what it may look like with the version put in. Either DOA can say he doesn't want it because he doesn't want to change it every version, or maybe he'll code it into the program to draw the correct version to the splash on startup.

My turn to reply. Basically, I think it's a little too much negative space. It also doesn't capture the essence of what FG is meant to do. Although I like the idea of using a Dark Archon. Dunno what much else to say though...all I can say is that it doesn't feel right. Can't really help you on why that is.

As for versions, I'll either not have it on the splash or make it be drawn.

Heh, I've been considering coding a program for automatically finding the offsets for things that the location has already been known before (or that the data to look for is already known). I have some ideas already for how it might work, but I'm still not sure whether I want to try coding it or not.

no i mean put a "timer" sort of thing before a broodling dies.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DiscipleOfAdun on 2006-09-29 at 16:30:09
I would like to say that FG wouldn't be able to really use that. There are too many of the offsets that happen to be too obscure in the exe to base on what is around it/what the data looks like. Basically, the exe edits have to be found by hand.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Doodle77(MM) on 2006-09-29 at 16:31:05
Any chance of being able to change the speed of the regen/shield timers?

It would still be useful I think. If done right, at least it would save you a bit of effort that you could spend doing something else. But I understand your point - it Blizzard change too much around, then the better option is to look for things 'the hard way'.

On a different note - Maybe this program would not actually find the very offsets, but rather facilitate the search for them, hmm?
