The checkbox is for a planned feature, I must have forgotten to disable it in the release.

Can you reproduce the string crash regularly?

Well, this is with the newest SCMDraft. And it keeps crashing.

What I do, is start a map in jungle 256*256.

I go to zoom and I zoom out to 25%. I place some water, dirt, and mud. 3 mintutes later I get an error. I have done this multiple times. Please help.

And thse are the EXACT steps I took.

Okay, this may sound stupid but... if you put player 2 with any unit around the map, in force... player 1 and 2 are visioned, but whenever if you goto player 1, and preview the fog of war... it doesn't show any player 2 units.

Ctrl+S doesnt save the map like it's suppose to.

In TrigEdit, it seems in order for my changes to take place I must Debug first. Is it suppose to be like that?

Edit:

SCMDraft 2 Beta 0.5.5

1) Yeah, I noticed the Ctrl + Save "bug" too. Maybe it's not a bug, it's probably just not implemented yet.
2) Yes, you're suppose to press the Debug button first.

I found a bug of my own!
Jim raynor can't be used in "create unit" since both Jim raynor shares the same name, thus TrigEdit returns the "unit expected" error. Please fix this ASAP, I need to use him in my map... pinch.gif

um, try "Jim rayner type 1" vs "jim raynor type 2", it has code that if a unit name occurs more than once it appends Type X to the end. I'm not sure which one is which so you may wanna open a map that uses those in a trigger to see. Same thing with mineral fields.

Yea some of the shortcuts got broken when we changed the way the interface works, and weren't fixed in time for 0.5.5 sad.gif ctrl S, some of the grids, etc.

PS: if you are still hosting prerelease #9 at SC.org could you replace it with 0.5.5 or just direct link to the 0.5.5 download? there are alot of sites hosting the prereleases, I can see by the number of people grabbing 0.5.5 via autoupdate function.

I've found a bug..
So far the map im making has been completely created in Scmdraft 2(including triggers and all, hasn't been touched by another editor).
Now, you see....I start up a game...and I build an academy...and I can do the marines range upgrade 3 times.
Same with the medics energy upgrade.

I believe when Scmdraft 2 makes a map, it sets all Upgrades to a max of 3.(Only the Armor\Attack upgrades should be set to 3, every other upgrade should be at 1) Of course you can simply go back and fix that quite easily(which im about to do).

Just thought I'd let you know.

Yeah I had to guess it with Mineral Fields.

String colors get :censored:ed up when I edit them in SCMD and they're created in SF, and vice versa.

I'm getting a very odd bug, SCMDRAFT2 keeps claiming that there is an error at line 1685 of my triggers, and that a location name is expected. So I pasted it into a text document, went to line 1865, and found that the trigger was perfectly fine, a location was definitly referenced etc...
I have tried this in both a standard word document and notepad, but in both a location is most definitly referenced.

If you have a saved version of the map could you send it? Or just the trigger text?
Also you have " " around location names right?

Every time I save my map with Scmdraft 2 whether I added any units or not and open it with SCXE it says 1 unit unplaceable and removes it
it isnt too bad of a problem but its very annoying and it might confuse some people like it did me at first
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SI on 2005-08-04 at 18:15:05
Email me the map, I'll look into it. Also are you sure it doesn't say so before?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by The_Shattered_moose on 2005-08-04 at 19:28:20
About my strange bug, I restarted SCMdraft2 and pasted the triggers in again, this time it took for some reason, sorry to have bothered you.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by TERRAINFIGHTER on 2005-08-04 at 22:49:04
This is odd...the error stopped all of the sudden after saving it with SCXE several times
as far as I can tell back when it had that error it wasnt removing anything and it also appears that it somehow saved it as a .scm when I told it .scx and that mightve caused it

ADDITION: whats this Scm28.tmp file scmdraft created thats in the same folder as my map?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SI on 2005-08-05 at 05:10:04
That is your map, changes such as adding a wav file are stored in there and only when you click save does it copy it to the real filename.

Scmdraft crashes if you try to make a location without grids (those things that seperate each tile) when you set the locations to snap to the active grid. I know you can just turn the grid on or set it to snap to tiles, but maybe you'll take time to fix that.

If it helps:
OS: Microsoft Windows XP home edition
and the my Scmdraft is the very latest up to date 0.6.0

The newest version of SCMD2 (the one you have) has a bug where SCMD2 sets the default grid size to "0". You'll get a division by 0 error (what you have) if you don't re-set the grid size to something else (Options>Grid). Yes, this is already known.

i dont understand whats going on when ever i create a map out of scmdraft even something very simple it doesnt show in starcraft (in neither single player or bnet) and when i go to save it doesnt show any maps that were downloaded, made from another editor and anything not from the base set of maps that came with starcraft or were made by scmdraft. when i look in the map folder for starcraft I only see the maps that came with it and the ones made by scmdraft

os windows 200o professional 5.0
scm version 2

addition: thanks didnt realize that there was 2 sets of starcraft files
Report, edit, etc...Posted by SI on 2005-09-27 at 07:01:07
well just change the directory you are saving to to the starcraft one...

Hey, I don't think you guys heard me:
String colors, especially those4 of strings where certain colors cant be used, get :censored:ed up when you create them in SF and edit/view them in SCMD, and vice versa. This can get really frustrating.
