Answers to Canadas_Modding_Prodigy which came from other people:

QUOTE(Legacy Weapon)
Make sure you placed their start locations.

QUOTE(Mp)Marine)
There is also a little bug about the locations for moving neutral units (player 12). I noticed when trying to move a bc to a certain area.

QUOTE(urmom)
That is because Starforge switched all of the players to 'unused'. Go to the map description part thing and then change them to human/computer/neutral/etc.

QUOTE(nuclearrabit)
I don't like your attitude.
You're robably doing something wrong, extended player colors work just fine. Random start locations?...

QUOTE(Legacy Weapon)
Colors only work on Brood War maps.

Okay Canadas_Modding_Prodigy, stop posting the same question over and over again and spamming smilies. All you need is a StarCraft Expansion Pack which is Broodwar, while map editing, make sure you placed 9-12's start locations.

All you need to do is uncheck used randomized start position in the forces dialog !!

Easy crash: Go to sprites->Zerg Egg

There is something that could be fixed if not already...

Its never been reported before. I can test and see if it crashes in my current version now and if it does fix it.

No, it didn't work when I tried to recreate it. As I've said before, you either had some weird conditions causing it to crash or something else causing it to crash.

It was not a trigger. I was simply using the editor and I clicked on the sprites section followed by the zerg egg which is under...oh sorry... It was the Egg Spawn sprite. Go to Sprites->Effects->Game->Zerg->Egg Spawn. It crashed my map and it said to report it... so i did

Still doesn't crash for me, maybe it's something else that's causing it.

I put this as a topic as well, but when you place unit sprites in starforge and open it in scmdraft 2, they are regualr sprites. You cannot copy and paste them and from what I am trying to do in my map, you need to copy and paste them...

That's a problem with SF, not SCMD2.

I'd suggest not using SF at all unless you need to use the AutoStack feature (or you really want to use the trigger style).

Is it just me or can you guys not place unit sprites either?

Addition:

Actualy it won't let me place any sprites. I'm using scmdraft v .0.6.0 prerelease 2

Whaaa...?

Attach the map, maybe it's an isolated case. I can place sprites just fine.

no its in my entire scmdraft 2 thing. No matter what. Even if I make a brand new map with scmdraft.

I was selecting a Corsair and then pressed Ctrl+L to switch to locations and it crashed :/.

Here is the .dmp, I finally found the folder it was in.

AHH it won't let me upload it!

I forgot to mention the bug where you can't create another action if you have 63 already. For Hyper Triggers, I have to put the preserve trigger and comment and then copy a wait because it won't let me create a new action. Here is the diagnostic file.

Changing the colors of players 1 through 8 to a non-standard color (pale yellow, pale green, etc.) makes that color black with white spots.

EDIT:

Also:

Ordering of names in lists sets 2 after 11. Ex:

block 1
block 11
block 12
block 13
block 14
block 2
block 3
block 4
block 5
block 6
block 7
block 8
block 9

One more:
While editing an action or condition,
Clicking in the text box and then clicking OK instead of just clicking OK results in the text for the action or condition to not update in the trigger list until something else happens. (user moves the focus to a different condition/action or changes to a different tab)

Player colors vary for different tilesets. That could be the problem. The second problem I heard was a problem with Microsoft itself and you could download something to fix it.

ADDITION:
This isn't really a bug, but it places the map revealers slightly off. In-game, there is some small patches of Fog of War. BTW, I'm talking about the feature where you can place map revealers for a whole player and it spaces it out automatically.

MISSION BRIEFING EDITOR has a HUGE bug!!!

I just figured out what caused all my triggers to mess up their switches! ranting.gif

It's because I edited the mission briefing with the mission briefing editor!

What happened was that the switches turned into other switches. Somehow the missing briefing editor compile is messing with the switches.

EDIT:
1) There is no work-around as far as I can tell except editing the mission briefing string in the string list. Copying back the trigger code and the trigger list will change the mission briefing.

2) This happens when swapping switches from different locations in the switch list or removing UNUSED switches from the list.

3) SCMDraft 2 has these bugs because it is sloppy in this regard: there is no distinction between editing a switch's name and adding new switches. The switch's name should be edited if the name under its index number is edited. And, it would also be a good idea to have the trigger code view in both the indexed number of the switch and the name of the switch.

I don't think the Mission Briefing editor was ever finished and/or ever intended to be used...

They should note that. :-|

ADDITION:

I've also noticed that the cut/paste functions when right clicking don't recognize highlighted areas. The paste function doesn't paste the selected items but what was there in the clipboard before, and the cut function doesn't do anything. When using the top bar, they work as they should. I think this is because the highlighted area information is cleared when right clicking.

1. They do note that, in "readme.txt".

2. I think that's been noted before, but that's a valid bug. To put briefly what you said: you can't select terrain, then right click. It deselects the selected terrain. Also, drag-pasting copied terrain results in another box forming.

Ah, I see, evolipel.

More problems..

*Player determination on copy/paste is broken. I can't change it to the current player unless I select player 11 and then select the player I want..

*Window scroll speed in editor setting: not a bug but it'd be nice to change that.

*"_" appears as a "_" in edit location window but "-" in the map window.

*Pasted items do not snap to grid as well as placed items... pasted items sometimes snap to grid sometimes not... usually not.

*Custom grid resets every time I switch grids!

1. Not sure about "player determination"... what is that supposed to mean?

2. Pasted units don't snap to grid because you wouldn't know which unit to snap to grid...

...and as for the last suggestion, you want to be able to save custom grid settings... correct?

Hi,

1. It won't paste the items in the clipboard for the current player (selected in the top bar)until you select player 10 and then the player you want.. sometimes not even then.

2. It can at least guess to snap the top-left unit to grid.

3. I want the settings to stay there at least during the session and not reset once I change to a preset grid type.

1. It's not supposed to paste the units for the current player selected. It's supposed to duplicate the units for the original player it used to have. That way it makes more sense.

The rest should be suggestions for SI tongue.gif.
