Be aware that this is only concept art and was not done using proper 3-dimensional models or such.

Well, here's my thing. Buttons, and more importantly build buttons, contain the image of the item they are building, exactly. If I was to say anything, I'd assume that the button should be made from a scaled down image of the original sprite. Then, colors can be changed. But, that's just me.

Maybe so, but critics like it when new spells are observer. New spells are more interesting then new attacks.
My own new unit 

Protoss Dargon
Health: Medium
Shields: High
Armor: Medium
Cost: Very High
Speed: Medium
Energy: Average
Damage: High
Cooldown: Medium
Description: A powerful protoss interplanetary battleship, used in large groups as support. Can Sacrifice its energy (and when that runs out, its own shields) to restore the shields of allied units. Uses latest technology to shape its shield.
Ability:
1) Boost Shield: Sacrifices its energy/shields to restore shields to another allied unit with shields.
2) Warp Shield: Change the shape of shields (if any exist) to reduce damage taken by outside attacks. (It's like an ability to increase defense) Temporary, drains energy.

The name isnt good, you can change that, I was in a hurry.
But this is a decent idea.
Copy paste everything from the Shield Battery ability, give it to a flying unit.. replace a Ganthridor.
And it is highly strategic.



More details, self attacking or carrier? What kind of weapon?

I was just giving out a simple outline, an idea for a unit. A spaceship that acts like Shield Battery.
Selfattacking, as carrier-style is hard to iscript and such. Weapon, Psionic Pulse.

Do we need 3 sets of bmps, one just showing the beam, one showing beam with end, one showing beam with end hitting target?
Do we need no set of just showing the beam? Will I need to center the beam in the bmp because if its 75 range and its instant long beam it will have to stack on each other? (If it attacks like that, and its 75 range, the bitmaps by themselves arn't large enough to show anything, and they'll vary according to the range of the attack.. Its why blizzard never did anything like that, Blizzard either made melee, a projectile, or range doesnt matter like the firebat attack.
I need details like that, as I don't know what the memory patchers/iscripters will be able to work with. A seperate bmp for each stage of attack, or can u repeat it? Etc, etc.. I know I'm not a great writer, but I really hope you understand half the problems. I dont even know how many directions of the attack you need.

Here is the WIP Ionic Research building. It looks ok now but it will look ALOT better when it is completed. Please leave feedback.

I used that little building button as a refrence and added from there.

Done with the 3D stuff, now im skinning it, with paint... Its going to be hard! But, I will do it! Its deformed because I dont like .jpeg.

Ok, since this is a team i will be giving the model to the other graphic artitst, i did my part they can do some too. They probaly have better ideas then me and are better then me at designing.

Wow am I the only one that knows anything about 3D modeling... If i liked doing art i would have done that. Pauper in order for us to see how that looks you must turn it to the angle of the terrain. It looks horrible like that. And for New units you have to use HIGH POLYGONS. that thing has what 60,70? Heres what a good 3D model should look like. Ill give a couple of examples. It doesnt need to be this good but a better than that. (this is really high quality and i feel like im rating you guys hard but we work with what we got so w/e)

Umm, don't make it straight on, tilt it a little, like the rest of the buildings.(FOR THE FINAL ONE. Concept can be anything you want.)

Hey, there's no need for that, just take the bitmap at a different angle. There's only 1 frame, it should be easy.

On a semi-related note, I got my 3D modelling program working. I used to do low-poly RTS modelling, but it will take me a while to get re-accustomed to it... ermm.gif

We gotta make stuff higher poly. And I just relized that was concept art so it doesnt matter yet. The shape overall looks good just needs to be seen at a better view. Also it will just need to be higher poly.

Terran Helios: Short-Range Power ship
Battlecruiser with a spherelike bulge at the end.
Shoots jets of fire.

High armor, high HP, continous damage (or as close as you can get), and low range. High build time and cost. Low speed and turn speed. One ability: a long ranged yamato-esque attack.

Terran Viper: Strafer
Like a wratih but with the bottom wing cut off.
Fires servokinetic lasers, more like beams than the classic burst laser.
Low armor and hp, low damage with low cooldown, low build time and medium cost. High speed and turn speed.

There is the queen one. I had an idea for being able to infest any unit and be able to build them in infested terran center but that would require to many units. IT would own though.

How about a new unit that morphs from the mutalisk? It could re-implement the acid-spray attack(with different colors) that the Mutalisk originally had, as an alternative to the Devourer. It would be Perm. Cloaked and very expensive. It would be fast and have low HP and Armor, and the weapon would have a really high cooldown. It would be meant to hit the enemy after acid spores have been attached, cripiling the unit. It would then retreat from the battle. If spotted, it has a very low chance of surviving. It appears similar to the mutalisk/devourer cross(or, if you have other Ideas, post them)

You might can give the queen a mutation ability where it turns enemy terran units into protoss units (example rine->zealot) and protoss units into terran (zealot->marine) then gives the units to you (even if their not injured)

Edit: forgot to mention the spell would replace infesting command centers

2. after the limits removed I think you can change the unit it morphs into in images.dat (not sure)
