That's a nice way of putting it. If you want to sing the national anthem, put some work into it. We won't lower our reputation (a bit, at least) and possibly inconvenience other civilians just because you're lazy.

One of the things I don't like about Bush. He's too soft on immigration policies. If you're an illegal immigrant, and you're caught for a misdemeaner (such as speeding and such), you should be deported. If it's a crime, you can have due process (no right to a lawyer since you're not a citizen though).

In short, Immigration = good. Illegal immigration != good.

Or something to that extent
I think no one has a birth right to come to any other country. The only people who have a right to be in any country is if they are born there. Its funny how a lot of illegals are protesting (using one of our protected rights) for the right to protest.

well... I mean the right to protest comes with it.

Yes, we may be angry that we have illegal immigrants, but if you think about it, what if there were no borders? If that were the case, why wouldn't they have the right to move to wherever they want? Their protesting annoys me, but in the long run, illegal immigration does help the economy because they do hard labor jobs and more of them means more profit, and their children will have to pay taxes. I guess I'm undecided which side to support, but the protest made me leniant towards anti-illegal immigration.

So if I said I hate him, would that be a personal insult? Does that mean I cannot dislike our president, and I must be forced to say good things about him? Chris, you always scream about the first amendment, yet you don't let me insult the president. Why don't you shut up and go home? I have freedom of speech. I can say the president is an idiot, the president is incompetent, and the president has no right to be in office all I want. I should say it, Chris, because I have freedom of speech and I have the freedom to exercise my rights, Chris.

So why don't you stop impeding on my rights, Chris? In other threads you yelled and screamed how liberals were trying to take away the First Amendment, yet right here, you are telling me I cannot say that president's accent is stupid. I have the government-given right to insult the President, the government, and whatever the hell I want.

They can hide, they've been doing it for years. If you had the choice to pay taxes or hide, which one would you choose?

Sure, it makes the farmer wealthy, but does that contribute to the economy in a major way? Not really. The food trade only at best.

There! Right there! I think I found it! *BEEP BEEP BEEP*!

You don't tell me what the hell I should or shouldn't say. Understand, blind patriotman? See here, by telling (and implying) that I shouldn't (cannot) say the president is an idiot, you're impeding on my rights.

Of course, I would not normally take these types of things like this, but I'm doing it with you because I dislike you especially. You blindly follow the president and you viciously promote the First Amendment as meaning you can do anything. For example, what the hell does the First Amendment have to do with buying video-games? The hell I know, but you do know some sort of connection, apparently.

Who cares if I have no cause to say personal insults? That just another lame, not very well disguised, vague insult you've laid down for me. Who the hell cares if I have no cause? I still have the right to say it, according to both our versions of the First Amendment. Unless, of course, yours merely states we have the freedom to buy things but not freedom of speech.

Now then, would you care to tell me I should not say these types of things to you? Going to call in a moderator to censor me and your precious first amendment? Seriously, you contradict yourself, and when such contradictions are brought up, you ignore them because you cannot refute them, and further more, even when you've lost an argument, you don't concede. Even further, you reply to two paragraph posts with two, defiant but meek lines.

On topic:

Well first, directly on the border there are armed gangs and drug smugglers who threaten and walk on to US border down houses.

MS13 gang, 10,000 of them all illegals and all of them here.

They drive down wages.

They take jobs that would normally be available to citizens.

Most do not pay taxes.

Most do not have health insurance.

They flood most southern state hospitals, becuase hospitals can't turn people away and they don't have health care theres no one to pay the bills except us. California is a prime example cause hospitals have shut down before.

Schools are flooded with the illegal's children who don't speak english. Classrooms are over crowded and many teachers can't communicate with most of their students. Again California is a prime example and again we have to pay for all these kids.

Plus the thought of the border being so easly crossed disturbs alot of people too. I mean in times like these a terrorist could easily do it.

the list goes on and on.

AHA! You can see the allusion of the first paragraph to the first amendment. Apparently, this implies im infringing on Chris's rights when I say he should get his "republican bullcrap out of america". Now, I included paragraphs 2 and 3 just to bolster my arguments. As you can see, in the beginning of the first paragraph he says I am talking like a true muslim (in response to me wanting him to take his "republican bullcrap out of america"), then, later, he wishes people would shut up about christians, after he insults muslims. Great, insult a religion, then tell people not to insult your own. For laughs, he apparently included the third paragraph.

Also, I have no right to privacy. So, I have the unalienable right to buy whatever video game I want, but I don't have the right to piss in private. Though when originally said I was sacrificing the first amendment, it sounded rather mediocre, it sounds much more zealous when you combine it with the fact he says I have absolutely no right to privacy, but an extraordinary right (according to his first amendment) to buy whatever videogame I want regardless of the violence and what my age is, and when he disguises insults.

[-] Right to buy any videogame at any age
[-] No right to privacy.
[-] Disguised insults that imply I do not believe in the first amendment.
[-] Self contradiction.
[-] He apparently thinks that forced religious beliefs dont infringe on the first amendment, but that a limited variety of violent videogames does.

So, not only is he zealous in the name of the First Amendment, he could care less for the rest of our rights. A man with freedom of speech but not freedom of thought does not effectively have freedom of speech, say I.

-As much as I dissagree with illegal immigrants having a spanish version of the American national anthem, I can't hate these people. They are after all people. Granted that they are an extremely impoverished people, with, for the most part, rather unrefined social skills, they are here. There are so many of them in our country, that it's nearly impossible to weed all of them out.
But also think about this:
-If we did not have these illigal immigrants here, do you have any idea how much more you/your family would be paying for produce, or food of any sort really? People like to argue that they are stealing jobs from Americans. But would you really like to be the one picking grapes, lettuce, tomatos, cabbage, carrots, oranges, apples, etc.? The list goes on and on. If these people did not have the drive to support their families like they try to, and didn't work for $2-3/hr you would be paying $2/orange as opposed to $.70, because Americans who would be picking your food would be demanding at least min. wage ($6.15/hr) which directly affects how much all that produce would cost in your local Shoprite, A&P, or Weis.
-Now I'm not saying that I support these Mexican women who are 9 months pregnant, in labor--about to pop, and roll over the border to have this child be a legal US citizen; but you have to realize, what other country has tens of thousands of people/year doing whatever they can to get there, or have a child there. Our country is the best in the world and these people are just trying to get a small, small piece of it. Can you really hate them for that?

Your first paragraph is true. It's like blacks and whites; it's okay to say crap about white people, but political suicide to insult a black. Infact, calling a black person black is political suicide. I do not understand your second paragraph, could you repost it written differently?

Now then, for privacy? Hehe. You see, the first amendment? It says we have freedom of speech, right? Well, if I'm not in private, I don't feel I have freedom of speech, so my rights are infringed. Thus, the right to privacy.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by HolySin on 2006-05-14 at 21:47:49
It's not political suicide to call a black person black.

Anyways, the freedom of speech—in fact most of our freedoms—is not absolute. During certain conditions, certain freedoms can be taken away.
