Are you going to use a custom .grp for the gas that surrounds them, or should I make custom gas for each frame?

Oh, and when recoloring, should I just give everything a blue tint... Like... Well generally change the hue of each color/shade to a pale-ish dark blue? Oh just certain parts, and leave parts non-blue such as the claws and stuff?

Because, here's what I have so far:

Is that the right color/shade of blue? If not, tell me because thanks to PHOTOSHOP (Take that you MSPaint lovers tongue.gif ) I can re-color it fast with ease. Oh, and as for the unit itself, is that relatively close to what you were looking for? Lol it kinda looks like a zerg version of a dragoon, or at least it did until I re-colored it.

I haven't decided. I was thinking about doing that, but I haven't had them made yet. If, IF someone would make it seperate, I'd do it that way. 3 sizes, like a normal overlay does. Any palette, I don't care. That way, it'd only take about 6-9 frames for the gas, instead of having to do it over every frame on the unit.

The tint of blue is perfectly fine. If you think it'll look better with only parts recolored, you can do it that way. And it's very close to what I was looking for. I don't know if there's anything to change. Don't think so. You're a better grp artist than you give yourself credit for. smile.gif

Other than this, a decent grp it is, although I think that it may need a bit more 'personality', if you permit me the expression. I mean that so far it looks just like a 4-legged spider, and it doesn't have any distinctive parts. Of course, it's just my POV, but I suggest that you add something 'special' to it, something that will make it recognizable at one glance. This is what makes a unit unique IMO.

I'm not sure what that blue and orange and yellow and red bits come up as in SC, but they were there when I started, I'm not gonna take them away.

EDIT: it wasn't very tough to make, but I've got 24 frames to go if I continue
EDIT: actually, the vertical ones are always the easiest, I'm gonna have to start bringing sines/cosines into the equation(literally!) if I want my streched dropship part to work.
EDIT: You'd better like it, I did it instead of working on my french project.
EDIT: 8 frames to go, plus a bunch of editing for different steps, nothing major.

Prolly 'cause the main parts I copied were purple.

I mean, the BC doesn't have much purple other then that part, I used all the dropship's purple, I'll go over em after I do the rest of the frames.

In the effort of deleting all copies of frames I accidentally deleted one that was unique. Is there any way for me to get retroGRP to just extract one BMP?

I haven't done the others yet, I've gotten around to that french project I mentioined above. I'm done now, so I'll get to it.

Hmmm, I gotta figure out how much I need to stretch my dropship image to fit over the wheel wells, I thought I had to use cos and sin, but I'm getting screwed up here. This should probably be in it's own topic, but it's along the lines of what I'm doing.

Actually, I think guess-and-check is doing just fine, I got rid of some purple for my other images, seeing as how the dropship's image is awkwardly shaped. It has; like round wheel wells, the purple protective central 'windsheild' is gone, because that just wasn't working with the dropship's space.

Yeah it is, but then again it isnt, the funky colors are changed in game when it moves, kinda like how in the image for the wireframes are.

Ah, doesn't help me though, I still have to do 27 frames total, it'd reallyhelp if I could get a way to make those tiny tread+color changes without editing the rest of the picture, then I could reduce it to 9+editings. I'll prolly use copy+paste.

To DoA:
Could you please get another list going, after this unit is done, the above list will have been entirely completed.

Yeah Subfocus might be replacing me tongue.gif Because i really don't have too much time to work on any sc stuff atm.. Now, i just wanna find some time to finish the remaining buildings for DoA and take a break, and hopefully I'll have some time for a sequel to AR in the future..

shifty.gif, that's the purpose. The entire race is meant to sort of blend in on that set. However, they'll stick out like sore thumbs on the rest. I'll make sure the colors used for players show up. If he wants to add more to the unit, that's fine. However, from what I can tell wink.gif, not many other units will look like that one in my mod...so it's already got a bit of uniqueness.

I believe it was supposed to be transport, therefore there would be no turret.

If you want to add a turret though, I don't mind. The second post is more accurate, using the dropship as a 'windsheild' wasn't working due to fitting problems, so it isn't in other frames.

Yeah, Ian is doing a different unit.
So far, I only have 1 Unit, which is the worker. I lack a super-cruiser. I acknowledge that you, Laser_Dude, are working on the transport(which does not need a turret. It looks fine as is, so when you finish, get me the grp...smile.gif). So, I'll add these(if I don't get a very strong showing, I'll take off the third one for a while):

1. Recolor a medic somehow. Don't really care too much, just nothing totally absurd.

2. Create a superpylon, but don't make the size any bigger. Just beef it up and make it appear to be an energy collector.

3. Given these names, create the following buildings with a Zerg influence, recolored with some hints of blue(but not completely recolored....). If you need more direction, ask me and I'll come up with something...The names in () are just for me to know what building it really is. It probably won't help you all. Also, this is the entire building tree for the zerg replacement...so have at it. In the grp's, I'd like 2-3 frames, so I can animate the buildings. I will not put up anything else until I have the grp's for at least 9 of these. There's plenty to work on. Please say what you are doing too...

(Glyth) Mound. Role: Basic main structure. Size = hatchery.
Viropool. Role: Vespene extraction. Size = extractor.
Terraform Expander. Role: Creep expansion/evolving buildings. Size = hydralisk den. Basis - creep colony. tongue.gif
Hollow. Role: Mid main structure. Size = lair.
Cavern. Role: High main structure. Size = hive.
Cluster. Role: Anti-Ground defense. Size = sunken colony.
(Lycor) Pit. Role: Supports basic ground units. Size = spawning pool.
Crypt. Role: Supports mid-adv ground untis. Size = hydralisk den.
Shroud. Role: Upgrades. Size = evolution chamber.
Nest. tongue.gif, can you guess everything for this one?
Shadowspore. Role: anti-air. Size = spore colony.
Shrine. Role: supports air units. Size = spire.
(Ahyrl). Role: Evolved Shrine. Size = greater spire.
Darkpool. Role: Support anti-air units and spellcasters. Size = defiler mound
Highlair. Role: Supported advanced ground and air units. Size = ultralisk cavern.

I'm too lazy to put up other stuff about the buildings right now, even though I really don't have much.
