Wow.
If we weren't so sloppy there wouldn't be pollution in the first place.  There wouldn't be radioactive material and excess CO2 and trash everywhere.  We aren't doing nearly enough to keep the planet a healthy environment for life.

True in fact, but sooner or later we'll remove the trash pile that was made in the 1900s (Yeah, it's very old) instead of making another huge hole of pile. Second, radioactivity sometimes clean out vegetables even though they're dangerous to eat but you don't see radioactivity everywhere, just around nuclear plants mostly. The only things I've seen that we're doing healthy for the environment is building a solar energy (If that is) ontop of rooftops, cleaning out beaches and the environment and also street cleaning, etc. is going on, even giving birth to trees and saving endangered animals. There are two perspectives, but you're focusing on the bad side.

Humanity's destiny lies in the revival of 80's music, which is happening. That is all I have to say.

You shouldn't even see it around nuclear power plants if they're designed properly.

You've got to be joking. I mean, think about it.

The ages of human civilization:
Stone age..........Bronze age..........Iron age..........Medieval age..........Age of exploration..........Industrial age..........Atomic age..........Information age..........Retrosonic age

*sound of breathing through scuba gear* "The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant compared to the power of playing Graceland."

Amer: "Aerosmith, you have an enormous responsibility on this mission, in many ways perhaps the greatest responsibility of any single mission element. You are the sonic and central entertainment system of the ship, and your responsibilities include watching over the CDs in the rack. Does this ever cause you any - lack of confidence?"
Aerosmith 1985: "Let me put it this way, Mr Amer. The 1985 series is the most reliable music ever made. No 1985 song has ever made a mistake or distorted art. They are all, by any practical definition of the words, foolproof and incapable of error."

"Do you think...maybe their whole technology is built around controlling Thriller."

www.livescience.com: "Some would say that nu-metal is a part of life. What would be your response to those people?"
Aubrey de Grey: "Nu-metal will no longer be a part of life when we haven’t got post-1989 music anymore. If you mean that some people would say that post-1989 music is a part of life—well, that’s certainly true, but a couple hundred years ago classical was a part of life, and we didn’t have much hesitation in making that no longer a part of life when we found out how."

Seriously. No.

From construction, they did properly designed the nuclear plants but that was way back until nuclear weapons existed. The only thing that made radioactivity affecting the environment is that there are failures, aging, etc. So once they see radioactive on the water around the nuclear plant, it's because an accident happen and there are small chances to fix it up. This is from my oppinion, but I think nuclear power plants should be designed a lot safer in the future and of course, there will be a lot more.

EDIT: As for the fixing up part, they couldn't fix it so I think they just put a pump on the radioactive water or be risking things.

As far as I know all the recent ones are extremely safe. The meltdowns only ever happened with the old ones, and probably only ever will happen with old ones.
