So because I like techno, I'm a mindless sheep? Perhaps, I just like high tempo music, and don't like lyrics... Which all of my techno falls under... You might as well call everybody who listens to country a hick, or everybody who listens to rap a gangster, etc.

Techno/Trance is great music, and is probably the hardest to create (although other genres except for Rap/Hip Hop are also hard to create).

Rap/Hip Hop shouldn't even be considered music. It takes no talent to rap.

If it takes no talent to rap then why dont you go make a record and get rich?
It is just as hard to rap as to sing, in my opinion rap is harder because you have to rhyme the ends of each verse. And all you need to make trance music is a good music editing program to create vibes, beats, etc.

Just like all you need to have to be good at photoshop is photoshop itself, right?

I personally don't like rap as a genre, but I accept that rap music can be quite the opposite of the stereotypical label a lot of people seem to have put on it.

I despise things like pop music and and the screaming, incoherent metal bands that seem to popping up everywhere, like weeds. I really don't get how people can earn millions of dollars a year just by singing lyrics that they didn't even write.

All the rap I ever hear is talking about hos and killing people. Hip hop? Strippers. I like techno. Daft Punk r gud.

I never said adding izzle to the last word of every line and frankly I have never heard of a song that has ever done that.

Uh.. rap "artists" write down lyrics, as does everybody else. Freestyle takes talent, rap doesn't; there's a big difference.

People buy this stuff because people are dumb. That's the world we live in; can't change anything about it.

ADDITION:
And DTBK has a huge point there.. which shows that rap provokes incorrect use of words, which is probably why a lot of kids are pretty dumb (no offense to anybody if you're one of these kids).

Plus, not everybody can just make their own album, because you'd have to spend time and money to record it, but most importantly, writing lyrics isn't as easy to some people as it is to others.

But then again, if so many people like rap music, I guess it can be considered music (some songs, that is.. most of em are no good [in my opinion]).

I cant find a place to upload the song but you can dl it and listen as it no where near like any rap song ever put on the TV or radio.

Well, I don't know about gross perversion of the English language, but this 'rap' seems to be generally.. wrong... I don't like the lyrics themselves.

Edit: First & Earth rhyme although there not blatant rhymes like fire and liar they rhyme, I'd also like to use this as an example of a song that doesnt talk about killing people, pimps, hoes or bling.

I think Ridin' Dirty or whatever that crap by Chamillionare or whatever is called sucks the hairriest of the buttocks.

Hence the reason one should avoid BET, Vh1, MTV, and most radio stations at all costs. As you insist on claiming all rap songs contain slang, I'd like to point out almost every genre that has lyrics in it uses slang, and yes even our precious rock contains slang. My point is slang shouldn't really matter in a song unless it is so rediculous it detracts from the song itself. And frankly I dont blame you on you opinions of rap music as your comment "Adding "izzle" to the last word in every line does not count as rhyming" shows that you have been exposed to crapty mainstream rap which most of the population is exposed to or crapty underground rap.

A lot of rap sucks, but let's not forget there are lots of different kinds of rap. My personal favorite is Christian Rap (yes.. strange, isn't it?) but.. I still don't like it too much.

I agree with Deck that slang is not a huge issue; however, I have never heard a rap piece that would appeal to my musical sense in any way (and I hear a lot on the subway - there should be volume limits in iPods if underground), and I don't usually judge music by lyrics until after I hear the melodies and all - the rap I heard either doesn't have a melody or has a very poor melody. If it has terrible lyrics, it's just icing on my cake and more ammunition against rap .

That has to be one of the worst stereotypes about rap that I've heard. I've only seen Snoop Dog use it and somehow you think that that's what all rap is. I don't see rap rhyme much either.
