I live near a bank. Its easy for me to convert it back into canadian, because I have put it in the bank buy the licence anyway.

I am TOO broke atm but I think that this is an awesome site and I kind of owe at least something. I can write a check for a few bucks though =p. I'll pm you in a couple days when I get access to my check book ( I am currently at a friends house and my checkbook is at my house).

Hope that doesn't go too far. You don't want too many benifits based on donations, or people will feel the HAVE to donate to fit in. It is a donation after all.

True. So, no it wont get you anything. You'll just have the privledges I listed already. Email address, removal of ads if we ever put em on (its only if ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY we would do such a thing.), and a listing.

Well, about the ads, if you ever need money without donations, google Ad Sense is actually pretty good, you can change it to fit the layout of your site and their unobtrusive to the visitors, and they pay pretty well, so maybe you should investigate it.

I did have it for a short time, but I decided against it. The money from it wasn't worth it, and it was annoying to subject members to that.

I just had an idea though. We could serve ads on SEN... however we could make them disabled if you sign up. Thus, the people who actually sign up to stay here a while don't have to view ads...

Hmm, that would be cool, you could have something like "SEN Gold Membership" and it costs like 5 bucks or something. And it has a disabled ad version.

All you have to do is sign up for an account (which is what you have already done). It lets visitors who are just here to download a quick few files to have to view the ads, but long time members do not.

Its just for future cases (such as this with the invision lisence). In case they need a couple extra bucks, because although we've seen all these great people who have donated (thanks ), they may not always be available to do so, so they might have to resort to something like this, so I'm just tossing up some ideas.

You have to be ready for anything, hackers, viruses, host problems, etc. Because on my favorite Programming Forum, they got h4x0rz3d and had to raise money somehow, so they did all kinds of stuff, luckily, they are back online
