I dunno if anyone has suggested this but if I could actually select a group of terrain from the Master Pallet, like have a box to select terrain from the master pallet to use, that would be nice to place caves and such instead of doing 1 square at a time.

Oh whoops, I keep forgetting this isn't SF. Heh but parts of the cave would be nice
a triggering copying system...like say creat 1 marine for p1
then you click a button abd a list pops up and and can select what you want to change and what it should be into, so p1 will change to p2, p3, p4, p5....
saves alot of time...like defense maps...wher you have teleporting bunkers for each player
just a sugestion!
i think its possible(i program a bit) but im not sure if its all that easy...

well I dont think DW intends to add this, however copy + paste and search and replace should be about the same...

add when you rename a unit un the unit props it will change there and when you select them it will show the name on the bottome right

sounds easy enough to do for selection, using custom names in trees is another story tho.
Triggers already have a trigger "copying" system for multiple players. Select all the players you want it to run for. Woo.

i made something like that before using guedit.. made a mineral cluster display some score i think.
u could have like this..
current player custom score is #
set unit hitpoints to #% at anywhere
and then a box to set the copy amount and factor
f.ex copy 100 and factor 1 then it makes 100 triggers for all the percentages
it should also be able to set as binary factor, so it doubles each time
1,2,4,8,16 etc (just reversed order). then if it was for converting f.ex minerals to gass it would be instantly
i suck at explaining.. but some of you should get the idea

oh i got a question...
in trigegrings, theres a foe, but then...theres no current player FOE. it woudl be useful for me because my maps you can ally some1 and you cant hurt your own allies. it works perfectly except...when i ptu current player it hurts my self...or when iswitch it to "foes" it hurts EVRERY one(foes)...so il hit ipeople that shouldnt be hitted.
so just put a current player for foes...it woudl be nice...its just liek current player except for foes...

but it would be nice you know? you canswtich any tiem you wnt with out a trigger t odie for each player....and you dont have to have 8 trigegrs per player to see if they are allies...
A option in scmdraft when you select a location you can right click and choose layer go to triggers and then all the triggers that interact with that location are displayed in a small comment like this. It should only display a small text of the actions

Another useful tool would to be able to seperate the triggers using borders and name the borders.

I reinstalled StarCraft recently and when I tried to make a map Scmdraft 2 wouldn't work saying it couldn't find one of the StarCraft mpqs...
I have StarCraft and the files but they aren't in the folder the editor wants em in

Ability to choose the colour of locations would be nice.
Heres an idea (you can ignore this if you don't like it though) you can make it so the same terrain block don't pop up several times in a row....
Example :
every time I try to edit my map it takes an extremely long time cause theres so many tiles exactly the same making it so I have to scroll through them all in order to find the terrain tile I need then I have to repeat the process and find another
Terrainfighter, thats because those tiles that seem the same have the same image but are not the same color in game. That may not be the case for all the like tiles but it is for most of the water tiles that are the same.
Here's my suggestion. I asked heimdal if he would do this too.(Yes Im a double dipper so stop me!)
Ok since SE-xtra cant load certain properties/settings/sprites could you make it so when a map is saved you can either choose to save a sperate file containing all non-compadable information which can be reloaded when you want? (I dont me a copy of the map, I mean some sort of file containing those properties/settings which could be reloaded by SCMdraft kinda like a refresh button). I think this would be a good feature and would help some map makers cut down production time's'.

I think the new SCMDraft2 will be great, the prerelease has been working wonders for me! But there are a few little problems. The tiles for the tileset index are very small and you can't quite see them very well, it would be very helpful if you could enlarge the tiles in the tileset index. Also, when you are placing location boxes, it gets all messed up and the words continue out of the box which gets really annoying because you can't see anything, these are some other problems i saw as well. I love the new features for this new SCMDraft2, GREAT job guys!
there is no custom palette in SCMDraft2, or i just couldn't find it, but if there isn't a custom palette, you should really add one because they are so helpful.
have you thought of possibly making a standalone TrigEdit, cuz then i could work on my maps triggers on my amazingly crappy computer that is from like 1996.

scmdraft and trigedit work on my 150 mhz pentium with 16 mb ram, I doubt your computer is much worse.
what are the specs?
also just try it and tell me if it runs ok.

He's talking about the Custom Brush that Starforge has.
The one where you place the tiles in it and you just created a big tiles with many tiles. Then you can put that in the map as if it were a tile.
Similar in the way in which SCMDraft places doodads but you can make your own doodads.
oh the terrain brushes, I thought he meant a tileset palette or something.
You should allow the placement of different tiles on doodads, i placed a doodad and then tried to place different tiles on it but it wouldn't allow the tiles to be placed.
Either it was set to not allow illegal placement, or the tile was placed below it where you can't view it, try the map in Starcraft, shouldn't allow you to place the doodad.
i posted that suggestion on the SCMDraft2 bets site, and SI said he would add an option to place different tiles over doodads.
