Just a little side note...probably the most confusing thing about life is communication. Language brings up many different meanings, and like others have said before, we don't all automatically learn the same language with the same meanings, we learn the same language with what we believe those meanings to be. So...I'm just trying to say that if we had a basis of communication where we could interpret each otheres thoughts perfectly, just as we interpret our own, then we would possibly be able to know the truth behind Life and "Point of View." Or atleast, thats what I believe.

Some people might also say they don't don't interpret their thoughts perfectly, but thats understanding thoughts. Interpreting them is simply knowing you had them, and which ones you had.

And as a last note to comment on life itself, as so many others before me have said, (though not in these exact words) Life is an entity's interpretation of existance.

My thoughts.

I completely agree, though having a universal communication wouldn't really work unless everyone thought the exact same way, which would be pretty dull and wouldn't let us to have different views. Otherwise, the only way some kind of universal communication would work is through telepathy where you can actual "see through the other person's eyes" which wouldn't be a first person life anymore, then you can actually experience their thoughts and understand it, instead of having to interpret it through language.

So very true. Which is why life is much more interesting without knowing everything and figuring it all out for yourself, wouldn't you say so?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MapUnprotector on 2005-05-25 at 15:18:44
Of course. If everything has been discovered and done before, I would be bored out of my mind. There would be no challenge in learning anything or trying to create something new or discover anything.

I know all there is about sex, (I got a degree in pimpology) and I don't find it boring at all. Sorry, just wanted to be a smart ass, and use a stupid counter example.

No you probably don't know ALL there is to know about ANYTHING.

Impossible, unless you got a sex change. Then, and only then, will I agree with you tongue.gif

I'm sure this is a common thought among people. I mean, why wouldn't you wonder? We're born to wonder, so it's only natural that we wonder about ourselves and everyone else. And since people might end up getting curious at how other people think, this thought seems like it wouldn't be too far off from what everyday people might think about every so often.

However, when I took a few short moments to think about this, I realized there IS one thing we can usually agree on. The way we react to or interpret certain aspects of stuff. For instance, we can't be sure if we all here the same sound, but we can be sure of how strong it is in comparison to others, or how bright a light is, or how hot a pot feels, etc etc. Anyway, though we can't be sure of somethings, I believe the familiarity between the aspects of our interpretations is what allows us to be sure that we are seeing the same thing(or atleast something close to it)
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MapUnprotector on 2005-05-25 at 21:05:37
Yea because basically every human being is made up of the same thing and have the same body structure mostly. It's not like we are different species. So we do have many things in common.

Sometimes, I think about if I didn't exist, and everything I ever have known is gone. It's creepy, like I get spooked up and think of like complete darkness for like a second.

And, I sometimes I think that I'm an alien or the only real being, and they're all testing on me and observing when I'm not looking. Sometimes many things that happen to me are too coincidental and I sometimes think that somebody planned this... I'm scared now...

That's part of what I mean. If you see but you can't see through anyone else, it just doesn't make sense. Many of you don't understand what I mean, you have to think very deeply. If you can see everything, and others are like you, you would be able to see through others. Instead you just see through yourself, as if you were chosen for something.

You mean like asking the question "Why was I born as myself?" ???

Well hell man, If I could answer that, people would be making monastaries in my name =\
But I cant....*sigh* I'm gonna miss those monastaries... -_-

See through? Dude wtf are you talking about, thats all nonsense. We are solid objects, you can't see through them. Even if we do see the same types of things, our minds are not linked and we cannot share raw data our brain receives with anyone else.

This topic is starting to get pointless.

Gosh, you should understand what I mean, you yourself and Alpha are the ones making this topic pointless, if you don't like it simply post somewhere else.

... I was asking you what you were talking about, that was all nonsense. It didn't make sense at all. And the topic is pointless when you start to say things that don't make sense and are asking WHY does something happen when it defies the laws of physics and all that stuff.

QUOTE

WHY would you be able to see through others? We are all alike, but that doesn't mean we have the ability to read other peoples minds, duh. It's like saying I have a pencil, and my friend has a pencil and I can move my pencil, but why doesn't his pencil move, both are the same thing closedeyes.gif

You have eyes, and other people have eyes, ok so everyone has them. That in no way means that you should be able to use their eyes, just because you have them too.

Well gee, apart from the five people who pmed me with a pretty close understanding of what I mean, No.

You are just seeing into this as immature as you can. Can't you obviously tell that I didn't literally mean "see through" someone? You need to put a little thinking effort into this question unlike most other questions out there. This isn't some shallow nonsense that is just there because I felt like saying it. Like I said before, if you don't like the question then just post somewhere else.
QUOTE

It's not like that at all. That is stupid, that has almost nothing to do with my post except the fact that i said "see through". You blocked out every other part of my post and put those two words by themselves and pretty much claimed that my whole question was about those two words. Then you said I made no sense, yet how would I make no sense to you if you claimed that" my whole question was about those two words".
I would explain my question better but English is horrible.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MapUnprotector on 2005-05-30 at 22:48:35
"see through" people makes no sense. First of all you can't physically see through someone. And you can't see through someone else's eyes, and it's perfectly logical why you can't and theres nothing to prove why you should be able to.

QUOTE

No, I tried to interpret it the best I could. From what I understood I thought you were talking about seeing through someone else's eyes or from their actual point of view.

QUOTE

No I didn't. Why don't you try to explain it more clearly instead of repeating what I've said.

And my example makes perfect sense.

And actually

QUOTE
If you can see everything, and others are like you, you would be able to see through others. Instead you just see through yourself, as if you were chosen for something.

That is where I got the most meaning out of, and where I based all my arguments off of. It's just not true, If you can see everything, and others are like you, then that doesn't mean you can see through them.

Plus you CAN'T see everything, so being able to see through other people wouldn't happen. Ok so maybe if you could see everything you could see through other people because that would include seeing everything, but that still will never happen and theres no point to it. How can you even say:
QUOTE
Instead you just see through yourself, as if you were chosen for something.

If you yourself have not experienced "seeing everything".
That is why when I think of "seeing everything" I mean you see everything through your eyes, so of course it wouldn't mean seeing everything including what other people see. If you could see everything and everyone was like you, why would you not be able to see through other people? It doesn't make sense either way.
QUOTE
Then you said I made no sense, yet how would I make no sense to you if you claimed that" my whole question was about those two words".

Where did I claim that? And what I've been doing was trying to explain what I understood from your nonsense, and when I did think it through it doesn't make sense. YOUR claim doesn't make sense.

Ok, I'll put it this way. First you started off with a HYPOTHESIS, with your IF statement.
QUOTE
If you can see everything, and others are like you, you would be able to see through others

But then you go ahead and say this
QUOTE
Instead you just see through yourself, as if you were chosen for something.

Which basically says that you have seen everything and people are like you too, when you haven't because your first sentence was hypothetical.

You should get one of those 5 people that pmed you to explain it. Even not taken literally, it doesn't make sense.

I didn't really mean see everything, I meant everything that you see. It is just too hard to explain and you just wont listen. I will just drop the whole thing after this post. Obviously some people need to bother someone with questions that are right there over and over if they disagree with you.
