SCU can only do so much.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Loser_Musician on 2005-05-15 at 11:28:47
No, you all have the equation all wrong. It simply goes towards map stealers like this:

My fist + Their face = Death towards the map stealer.

Get me a map stealer, and I can prove it. And trust me, I'll be more than welcome to prove it.

Okay, this news post has nothing to do about SCU. So, lets just drop it?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by PCFredZ on 2005-05-15 at 13:24:24
As I said, it was probably a typo. Sheesh.

I don't get the point of map stealers, how do they derive joy from doing nothing?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by O)FaRTy1billion on 2005-05-15 at 13:31:16
They need to find a way that if you edit a map after ran through something, it won't save at all. Then you could at least look at the triggers (That is why I got an unprotector while I was learning. I never would have thought to steal them). I know there is a glitch that sometimes it will say it cant open it for writing, but it does.
And if I did change a map, I would never release it and delete it after 2 seconds.
They need to find a way to somehow keep the original name somewhere that you can view, but not edit so that you can find what is stolen and what is not.

I say map stealers are just n00bs who are lazy and want to be something they cant. If anything all they are doing is labeling themselves "n00b that can't do anything but steal!".
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Yoshi da Sniper on 2005-05-15 at 13:31:43
The fact is, they don't. Why do that do it? Nobody really knows, all I know is that one guy wasted his time by stealing 10 maps and making 30 offensive comments which got deleted by me in 60 seconds.

Map Stealers who can Crack ProEdit or any other protecting proggy without SCU wouldn't be considered n00b..
Report, edit, etc...Posted by PCFredZ on 2005-05-15 at 14:21:25
Yeah they would.

Anyone with an above average amount of knowledge in programming, a lot of time, and an extremely demoralized soul can probably crack map protection. SC isn't exactly able to support 256-bit encryption...

The funny thing is, when I mentioned it once in a post, Chuiu (or whatever his name is), edited it and said "Names are a no-no" and I believe he also threatened to warn me (the warn thing might not be true, I forgot what exactly happened). I'm getting a gust of double-standards here... Might have been an accident though (whichever is more plausible tongue.gif ).

Theres no warn logs for you btw.

ughh, thats how hacks work, one person makes one, people everywhere use them...
If i made hacks (which i dont) i would make one and not share it (so only i get the advantage)

QUOTE(warhammer40000 @ May 15 2005, 01:42 AM)
wait, it is aB unprotector unprotector. If 2 negatives make a positive, then the positive of the map being protected would make it back into being unprotected! OMG IM SO AWESOME!!

good math. Have you taken pre-algebra yet?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Clokr_ on 2005-05-15 at 17:07:39
Okay, you fist have to analize how the 'unprotect' function works. A map can have two states: protected and unprotected. This is what the 'unprotect' function does:

unprotect(protected) = unprotected
unprotect(unprotected) = unprotected

Then what would this do? unprotect(unprotect(map))? Just check it:

unprotect(unprotect(protected)) = unprotect(unprotected) = unprotected
unprotect(unprotect(unprotected)) = unprotect(unprotected) = unprotected

I hope that helps to clear it out tongue.gif

Am i not not stupid?
The actual answer woud be yes if you thought i was an idiot. But using your problem itd be no. Which its not. HA! Your math doesnt work everywhere....err...

err... this is the basic rule for addition and subtraction of integers

- and - = -

In addition, if + and - or - and +, subtract it

-40 + 20 = -20

If it's the same integer, + and + or - and -, add it

-20 + -20 = -40

Did you really study this simple topic in math??? huh.gif

lol wouldn't it be funny if someone made a mod/hack/program that modifed SC so it supported 256bit encryption.

Well, they let someone submit an update of an old map of his a second time so be your on judge on how closely they check or don't check wink.gif . I wonder more if they play any of the maps before they aprrove/decline them or if they just give them a general rundown look. Oh yea Yoshi, nice new avatar, I got a good laugh outta it... saw it at first and was like what... and then read the caption, hallarious biggrin.gif !

Equations are not equal to actions.
Therefore your equations have nothing to do with this thread, take them somewhere else...

All I can say is that the map stealer got what he deserves. Done deal, no more to talk about...dry.gif
