I think everybody is stressed that if they say something wrong here they will get punished :/

Plus this is posted in ANYTHING GOES forum so don't try to get much SERIOUS DISCUSSION going on here tongue.gif

If a mod thinks so, (and plenty have looked at this topic), he/she will move it there.

I think it belongs here.

Or maybe we're content with the staff.

There are several active members, some that are even regulars, which I don't reconize anymore.

I raise my hand saying I am one! bleh.gif

Well, anyways.... I think the Staff is Pwning the forums these days. So far, from what I have noticed everyone seems to be doing their jobs and are getting things done on time, not causing much trouble, and all in all, performing to the standards that they should be performing at. I mean, most of them have out done themselves as it is.

Maybe this topic should've of come up if a Mod was abusing their powers. But, since everyone is doing their jobs, I really don't think we need this thread. happy.gif

I'm not really content with the staff here, but I like the free attachment space, so I try not to make a big deal of it.

Since we're in suggestions now, I have one (skip to the bottem if you don't feel like reading it all, I sum it up).

We need a Mod for the Melee section of this site, one who can delete posts as he or she sees fit. All we have is Entropy right now, and to be honest I think he's too busy to be moding this site (hence his inactivity here); he's needed elsewhere. I think that it also has to be someone with moderate melee experience, at least enough that they don't say stupid stuff. No offence, but BeeR is clearly not the man for this job. When he did mod activly in Melee, he let some people get away with stealing maps (despite conclusive proof). Not to mention his advice was often less than desirable.

What I'm saying is, there's a lot of wickedly annoying posts in the melee forum that don't belong, and we need someone to delete them. I have the time, but clearly you won't want me modding due to my "flame" record. I think we should elect someone already fairly experienced in the melee community, who knows how to play the game to mod.

So my complaint is this, why doesn't the melee forum have moderation?

BeeR_KeG doesn't ban enough people, especially three-legged ones.

as far as I can see, all the mods are doing their jobs, well, except clokr_, I never see him.

I'm pretty content with the staff, except one small quip.
Legacy, it would help if you were to PM people when you randomly decided to add a tutorial of their's to the tutorials database.
Also, this tutorial is harder then 1 mark. You need to know how to use IceCC before you can make use of it.

I have some beef with mods who decide not to say anything when they add to someones warn level too. It kind of defeats the purpose of warn.... also when they don't bother to give a link to the offending post. You know who you are.

I am assuming all tutorials being submitted have their author(s) notified that they are being submitted.

You know what, I agree with you there. I was warned three times and my warning level is at 60%. I never got one PM or a warning of what I did. I just got warned. Once by Yoshi and once by DTBK. I don't remember the third person. But, I am not arguing about what I was warned for, just not getting any notification. (I was warned for being a 100% Über n00b). No complaints on the warnings. happy.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Chef on 2005-06-21 at 22:19:27
I don't agree with my warnings, because I believe what I did was tottally called for (actually I can only assume which posts I was warned for, because I only found out a month or so later from a global mod who had nothing to do with it). However, it's their site and that's not what bothers me. What bothers me, is that you're not really helping by keeping warns a secret.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by chuiu on 2005-06-21 at 22:29:03
I dont keep them secret, who isn't telling people when they warn them?

Plus, you have 4 warns, all for flaming. It looks to me like you deserved them. Additionally one warn level was subtracted.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Chef on 2005-06-21 at 22:40:49
Screen shot please? You can post it here if you like.

FireKame (now Kame da Sniper) did not send me PMs to tell me if my warn had increased, and in the screen I was given a few weeks ago she did not provide a link to the offending incident either. I have no way of know what I did wrong. I thought it might have been from my posts in the "Gays vs Christians" thread, but the warn was given after I had made posts there, and if memory serves (I'm not sure, I appologise in advance if I'm mistaken), she had made a post, furthur qualifying that she had seen it a day before she gave me the warn.

I asked a moderator what my warn was and the person said it was 20%. Yet, I haven't recieved a single PM about the incidents. I wish I could see what I was warned for. >.> Are you supposed to be told?

Yoshi hid your own warn levels... I still think doing so was a mistake.

I'm going to write full reviews on every one of you guys, but since i'm bout to go to bed, i'll just post what i've done so far:

REVIEWS OF THE SEN STAFF: PART 1

Yoshi Da Sniper:
So here we have Yoshi Da Sniper. This little, or maybe i should say, big chump is the founding father of Staredit Network. It all started waaaay back in the summer of 2003 where Yoshi Da sniper, who was bored and had nothing better to do, decided to host a site dedicated to his true love: Map Making. After rounding up more of his chumps like tazzy and friends, the site got quite popular.

Even to this Day, Yoshi continues to be a great Administrator of SEN. Despite excruciating amounts of school work, he nevertheless perseveres and continues to dedicate lots of his time to us and making SEN a very great community. With his frequent uploads of his own portraits, he keeps many of us SENers pleased and entertained. Short to temper sometimes, he still successfully shoos away all the bad guys that immigrate to our site, keeping our site gay-free. However, on October 2004, school really beat him down so he passed his position to IsolatedPurity. Many thought this was a mistake, but later on, we were all proven wrong.

IsolatedPurity:
This boi joined SEN quite late, somewhere in the year of 2004. He only had around 200-300 posts when he was designated the position of Administrator. Still a stranger to many at the time, the ascendency of SEN over the SC world was in question. He was the only (trusted) person who was able to pay for SEN's internet fee so Yoshi passed the golden crown to IsolatedPurity.

What could IsolatedPurity do, many of us asked? He wasn't very active, he didn't communicate as much with the SEN community, and many people still just could not quite accept his presence. IsolatedPurity could not take it anymore, he had to do something! He started off by implementing his ninja PHP skills into our site and gave many members new and unique positions. He added many new features to our site and soon his popularity grew. His biggest project right now is SENv5 which we're all sure should be out very soon.

ClokR_
Go spain!! ClokR_ is a well known person not only on SEN, but throughout the whole Starcraft world. Why? Because he made Proedit! Without his production of Proedit, the only maps that would be played on battle.net right now would be stolen maps. After seeomg a fortune teller, ClokR_ forsaw what would happen to the future of map making; map stealers taking over the SC world. This was a nightmare, ClokR_ felt as though he needed to do something. And he did just the right thing: PROEDIT!

He is a great but inactive man here on SEN. He rarely participates with the SEN forums sometimes but still gets on every once in a while. He is a great person nevertheless; he even taught me some useful spanish words (he told me what the word "pene" was, which is the male genital).

(U)Bolt_Head
w00t! A (U) member. Bolthead is a 21 year-old restaurant manager who frequently helps us little kids with problems with map making and the site. He is also known as a great map maker whose shown the world his great map making skills. He has the second most posts here on SEN, just several hundred short of Yoshi_da_sniper. He's probably the most mature person here on SEN, seeing how he can manage his temper really well.

Despite his crooked looking nose in his picture, (U)Bolt_Head is still a cool looking guy who is more than happy to help the SEN community out. (U)Bolt_Head showed us just how generous he can be to use by releasing his well known maps unprotected for us. To this day, he continues to be a good, responsible, and respectful moderator of this website.

More to come later...
