I suppose so, but that sort of defeats the purpose. Better to just walk there without vaporizing yourself into oblivion and being transported, I would certainly choose to walk anyways,

.
Well I think transporting the actual matter from the original thing that's being transported is the more classical view of teleportation than to have to reconstruct it from atoms you find lying around the destination. Like somehow be able to accelerate the atoms from thing you are transporting and move them like that instead of moving the entire being.
teliportation is complatly imposiblescientificly. its cool to think of, but honestly...if we cant even see an atom, how are we suposed to drconstruckt a person, send it thru space, and put it all back together......you cant. the closest you could get to teliporation is to make your buddy stand on a cookie sheet, fill it with water and hok his ass up to about 3-4 batteries. not only will you send your buddie to another place "instantly" you would fry his ass too. so, both of your statments would be true!

Theoretically it is impossible as stated by Einstein's Theory of Relativity.
Einstein proved that the faster you go, the slower time goes until you reach the speed of light in which time completely stops.
Einsteain also stated that the speed of light is the Universal speed limit for both Matter and Energy.
So therefore theoretically it is impossible go faster than the speed of light and therefore you cannot go back in time.

hmm how do u know u cant go faster then light ? there is no proof is there no didnt think so

confused i bet
If you DO go faster than light, you go back in time, right? Thus you go back in time to the point where you were not going faster in time, so you are effectively frozen in space. As a note, I cannot scientifically prove this because I used logic.
The thing is, you cannot reverse "time", it is irreversible. That's like taking you, and ageing you backwords. It's impossible.
this is true, also, yiou people have said that you need to go the speed of light to go back in time, that sosnt even make sence. going forword in one direction to go back in another.....i dont think so. also, we canot go back in time becuse that place in history has already expired. it is no more. if we could go back in time, there would be nothing there, and you would die......somehow, i dont know how yet...but you would
Teleportation is, in the older version, zap, you're here, you're there. That's impossible. But, there are microscopic wormholes that we have proven to exist. Thus, there's hope for the idea. It's not possible to instantly move, but it's possible to cut down the distant from three light years to moving through maybe a fifteen foot long hole. The thing is, generating them on the spot is still a bit up in the air, and closing them might be a tad impossible.
Wormholes are sort of believable. But they are like blackholes: They smush you into spaghetti and you die. The end.

Who told you that? Wormholes are not the same as Black Holes. Whoever told you that is full of *hit.
where did THAT come from? first we were talking about time then we get a post about telliportation THE about wormhols and black holes....im so lost! well, telliportation is imposible. wormholes are not like black holes and, if in the right topic, i'd tell you why. but this is about time travel.
it is impossible, there there are alot of fun theirys
Wonder what people will use for teleportation? Radio waves?
Time travel backwards is kinda impossible by the fact that we haven't seen anyone from the future yet.
on that line of thinking, how do you know? if you look at it that way, look back thru time and look at all of the people that have been super inteligent. why cant they be froim the future? but, like i said, the atoms and stuff like that has moved on. if you go back. youll be dead. thats all there is to it.

Dunno, but right now would the only possible way in which humans could actually imagine taking us through time be wormholes?
Okay, no flaming for my idiot moment, but if you start in Maine, (Eastern time zone) and fly towards california, (Five time zones away?) and if it takes you 5 hours to get there, no time woulda pasted using california's time!
Odd huh?
Another thing to consider about time travel is what if we end up traveling in something other than our universe? (ALternate things and such, if they even exist.)
Open minds are the best at making descions.

@ the moment, it is impossible 2 travel in time. however, a science develops, a way MIGHT b discovered 2 go through time. it will take an awful lot of money and research though, a sum which is probably impossible to obtain. so i belive that there is a way to travel through time, but it will b impossible to find.

It IS possible to travel through time. Do the following:
1: Buy a clock
2: Make sure it is working
3: Watch the time go by!

That's a time zone, not a differet time. It's still passed 5 hours in Maine and in California (thought it was 3 or 4 time zones, but w/e). The time with time zones is based on the face of Earth relative to the sun. So, while the sun may be up high making it noon in Maine, for somneone in California, it's over the horizon because of the curvature of the Earth. So that people don't get screwed up time where noon is where the sun is abocve in Maine, and noon in California is the sun rising in the east, they use timezones where the clocks just run an hour earlier as you go back, but it's still at the same time. When you trevel to California with your example, and 5 hours pass, say you left at 5 o'clock Maine time, it gets to 5 o'clock California time and 10 o'clock Maine time.
The problem with time travel and the theory of going at the speed of light, is that time is stopped for you. Everything for you gets at that speed of light speed, and no longer can an electron complete it's orbit around an atom in your body, no longer can anything go faster forward. No nerve impulse will ever reach anywhere in your body, and all movement would be completely stable relative to each other so that nothing cvan break the speed of light. So everything for you freezes, and you're just a blob of frozen energy going at the speed of ligth while everything else continues on its way.
the problem with time travel is that its impossible. as i hae stated before, that part of life is over, its just like cloning hole people, it doesn't work. all the stuff used for life have moved on, you go back(impossible) and theres nothing there to support life. you die. thus time travel....no
I have an idea!
Okay its simple!
Step 1: Get a working clock.
Step 2: You open it up and move the hand backwards!
Step 3: You close it up.
Their you have just gone back in time!
and if you ever wanted to stop time, you take a clock thats working and remove the batteries! their you stopped it!
lol I thought that was funny.
Truly NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO OR TRY YOU CAN NOT GO BACK THROUGH TIME!
When it happens it happens NO ONE CAN CHANGE IT!
Accelerated or deccelerated time travel is generally possible (which means at least one of them is). even those who live by einstein, he said the closer to the speed of light u go, the slower time everywhere else is going. Thats time travel

Einstein's theory states that traveling at lightspeed is impossible. It says that the greater a mass is, the more energy or something needed. Meh actualyl I cant remember exactly...
why not? just get ure mass to about 0 and try going fast now . Its completely possible, einstein assumed ure mass would be more then 0.
Plus do u ppl think u know everything? scientists these days dont know half of what u think they know. There may be negative mass
