Deja Vu is a normal phenomena in the brain. When a person dreams, the dreams are stored as memories, even if you don't remember them. When you do a almost identical action in life, this triggers the memories to be recalled causing Deja Vu. This happens because most of the actions that "Deja Vu" applies to are common actions, something you would see in a lot of dreams and do it a lot of times in life. I.E. walking down the street, taking the milk out of the refrigirator, sitting down at the table.

Once again, there are only so many general face patterns, you could see some face in your dream (you see a dream every time you sleep regardless of wheter or not you remember it. Typically about 3 per night or so). There is another on-going theory that the "Deja Vu" feeling is actually created AFTER the action has happened, but I'm not sure the basics of it, nor do I concider it an important subject to learn about it.

ok, well its possible that you have actually met the person before but you didnt relize it at the time or didnt consiously recognize the person at the time, it's also possible that you dreamed up or imagined someone earlier who had very similiar charcteristics so when later u meet a similar person you fill in the gaps of your memory/ imagnation of the person earlier with this new person who appears very similiar.

Um... You actually do dream it. If Durk-A-Dur was to come here, he would explain his Dejavu.

And it's not hard to remember dreams.

Yes it is hard to remember dreams, if you sleep a night and wake up and don't think you had a dream, that usually means you don't remember your dream. Durk-A-Dur probably just has some small problem, he isn't really remembering it from a dream, that's just what he thinks. If dreams came true then goblins would come out of my nose.

Hell, you know what? Dejavu is a glitch in the matrix, it happens when the agents change something. Happy? Stop pming me.

Deja vu happens to all people since you have a couple thousand dreams a night however u only remember the ones that do not finish vividly so when u encounter a situation u think uve done before its because you have the image in your subconscience

Almost everything in my life is Déjà Vu (the correct spelling)
Report, edit, etc...Posted by l)ark_13 on 2005-08-19 at 19:04:56
Yeah, I have these sometimes.
But I usually dream them first, and these dreams are vivid. Like, I can remeber exactly what I dreamed about when I wake up.
They're also like 30 seconds long (the feeling and remembering) so I know what I did in my dream and I try to change it up in real life tongue.gif . I usually do and then the Déjà Vu stops oddly early. Its so funny, never creepy, and I always laugh after each one. Its awesome clapping.gif I wish life could be a huge Déjà Vu tongue.gif

Hmm... Nice job in putting words in my mouth. I congradulate you. Was it an achievment? And who are you telling to quit pming you? Last I knew, you were the one PMing me (If you are directing that to me)

Now. NEVER did I say that dreams come true. NEVER. So why do you assume that is what I meant? I may have worded my sentance wrong, and meant the "Deja Vu" (Can't spell it correctly because i'm on a laptop) comes true.

Do you know what assuming does? Makes an ass out of YOU and ME.

So please. Quit assumeing things. It's bad for your health.

tis true, its true. he never did say that dreams come true but the dajavu dose. and its not something that i have done everyday. i got a call today at my work that i have never gotten before, never even heard of the problem. but halfway thru the conversation, i could call word for word what he was going to say to me. if thats not Dajavu then i dont know what is.

Déjà vu has been subjected in recent years to serious psychological and neurophysiological research. The most likely candidate for explanation, according to scientists in these fields, is that déjà vu is not an act of "precognition" or "prophecy" but is actually an anomaly of memory; it is the impression that an experience is "being recalled" which is false. This is substantiated to an extent by the fact that in most cases the sense of "recollection" at the time is strong, but any circumstances of the "previous" experience (when, where and how the earlier experience occurred) are quite uncertain. Likewise, as time passes, subjects can exhibit a strong recollection of having the "unsettling" experience of déjà vu itself, but little to no recollection of the specifics of the event(s) or circumstances they were "remembering" when they had the déjà vu experience, and in particular, this may result from an overlap between the neurological systems responsible for short-term memory (events which are perceived as being in the present) and those responsible for long-term memory (events which are perceived as being in the past).

I love you Wikipedia.
