I'm disliking this idea.

Music doesn't deserve its own forum in a map making community's forum. It would be spam, don't think there would be many topics on music.

Just keep it in the null

So you're saying creative works, null, serious discussion, lite discussion should all be removed because they are irrelivant to map making?
Music deserves a spot 100%.

We don't have enough content for music...there's maybe three topics in the other discussion forums, and while other topics linger in and out, they fit just as well in Null/Lite.

Then maybe a subforum? I could talk about music all day if I wanted to in Null, but everyone is too caught up in "Post a picture of yourself", etc..

subforum wouldn't be too shabby, but music is so random compared to the others null--advertising and file request. Maybe under creative works? Rename that one so that its a bit more artistically brood...add a sub forum for commercialized/mainstream art...or if those terms offend you...something better sounding

Creative works would be the logical choice, but that's not really doing it justice. Creative works gets visited by a select group of people (mainly graphic artists), and making a subforum in there is lowering the activity even more. Making a whole new forum won't hurt anybody (I'm sure it'll be more active than Recommend and Review, for example) and it'll definately give it more traffic.

I fail to realize the cons of having a music forum.

You know when people make fun of you? They're doing it so you'll change =) Music forum will definitly be active, people just like music. Topics can be made about bands and people can breaks down parts of the band/artist they like and have a more thourough understanding of what kind of music they like. Aspiring artists will be able to get hints on what people like, could show off their own material, and improve themselves. It'd be like limewire without the famous bands who didn't actually put their music on the server =)

Most importantly, it would provoke intelligent discussion, and it would be nearly impossible for someone to actually be wrong (the only way they could is by making a topic like "which is harder" which shouldn't happen too often). Hell, if this forum was made I'd actually come back.

Consider what you've already done and what you still keep. Serious discussion is a mess of people just asking questions to already solidly answered questions, or questioning things that no one really wants the answer to. That, or it'll be comment that everyone either already obides by, or will never obide by based on commitment or moral fiber.

Asking for a new moderator might be too much for administration to handle, but it'd definitly help.

I would love to have a music forum, just as long as not everyone bashes topics about rap. I'm sure a lot of people would post there if there was a forum dedicated to music.

I don't think renaming the Creative Works forum really changes a thing.

Well isn't that what Global Moderators are for? Not all forums need moderators (at times).

If anything, it should be Kame. She's cool and she is moderator of a lot of forums

this should be closed. + i dont think their should be a music forum. its better off in the null. but since yoshi put it with creative works, its going to make it look nullish..

Yeah, global moderators should be able to handle it. Not like an extra would hurt, however. (Go nuke^^)

Kame automatically moderators the 'other' forums. So does BeeR. We were talking about an extra moderator who is more into music.

This should definately be closed. These discussions that prove points some members wouldn't like to bring up really are irrelivant.

Also, it is a lot better off in Null, because more people will look at it. Like I said, a select few only go into the creative works forum. At least 75% of those people are graphic artists who won't give music a second look.
Another reason why a whole entire forum would be better. If it doesn't go so well, make a subforum.

I like the idea of a media forum. There we can make idle talk about literature, music, and cinema at its finest! But just having a music forum without those other things is like... a computer with a cpu and no Ram, which is dumb.

I like rabit's idea. Movies, books, the arts, music. Its all about the arts and entertainment, but no games. We have a forum for that already.
Once again, I wouldn't mind being moderator

What about you? You seemed to like music when we talked.
