Seriously I didn't really get the storyline, maybe thats because I didn't play the first one... or maybe it's because the storyline had me playing two sides of it.

wtf you talking about? if you paid even half attention while playing the game, the halo rings kill all life in the galaxy (actually within a certain radius) It kills them all so that the flood has nothing to feed off of. No food, no flood.

Everything dies in the galaxy 'cept the Ark... Which is on Earth.

I wanna give the full story of halo 1 through 2

In the 26th centuries, from the very beginning of men, men wanted better equipment to kill. Now a new age of super-soldier called Spartan Project is formed by Dr. Halsey. Then, the UNSC ordered collection of experiments or kids, whom they would serve as spartans. Now the main character is John-117. ( nobody knows his last name ) He was one of the kids who were taken away from their homes. They were trained by Mendez, then augmented to be stronger than the strongest normal human.

When Captain Keyes and his crew in his ship the 'Pillar of Autumn' reached the Halo. Halo is a super-structure that is about 20,000 kilometers in diameter. The first halo encountered orbits Threshold, a gas giant. Now first when Master Chief got there, they were fighting the covenant. When Cortana picked up the Covenant Battle.net they thought the Halo was a super-massive weapon they could control. But they thought wrong, luckily when Master Chief loaded Cortana into the Control Center, the Master Chief went to help Keyes. When Master Chief returned he tried to activate the Halo with the Index helped out by a 'Oracle' named Guilty Spark.
But when he inserted the Index into the Halo, it was absorbed into Cortana by purpose of course, for she acquired the knowledge that Halo was not a weapon that destroys the flood. It destroys the food of the flood. All sentient life on the galaxy would be wiped out clean if the Alpha Halo was activated. Alpha Halo would activate all Halo at once. Now Master Chief escaped Halo, plus overloading Pillar of Autumns core to destroy the Halo. He escaped with a Longsword Fighter, which is an heavy fighter used to fight the Covenant Seraph Fighter.

On the Halo 2, Master Chief has an upgrade. Mjolnir VI. This armor is less bulky, more efficient and has faster shield regeneration. But the less bulky part brings to less health. More positive-ness... your flashlights last forever. Covenant invades earth! They fight against Covenant lead by the Prophet of Regret. Now they bring 14 ships to earth... or thats what I believe. The ships were obliterated by the Orbital Defense Base. The Master Chief was ordered to defend the station, and covenant brought a bomb. The Master Chief was ordered to diffuse it. He did so and he asked permission to leave the station to destroy a Capital Ship. He went to the docks, brought the bomb and placed it. He opened the docks and flew out with the bomb. Longswords appear from the bottom, and the camara turns to the capital ship. The longswords make a hole for the Master Chief to go in, and Master Chief activates the bomb and jumps out of the flagship into vacuum. The Capital Ship explodes and he crashes into a UNSC ship lead by another Keyes. Apparently Captain Keyes's daughter. He gets in and heads for Earth. There he fights through and destroys a Scarab, a massive tank that is about the size of your school. They board the Ship again and when the Capital Ship readies jump they follow it, and the Covenant Capital Ship is about 100 times the size of the UNSC ship. They go in with them in the Slipspace and end up in unknown space apparently holdnig another Halo. ( Play Halo 2 to Learn! )

25 lightyears. There're enough opporational ones to end the entire galaxy. Earth is not the ark.

Moosephon, They need Alpha Halo to destroy the entire galaxy. nearest halo from earth is Alpha HAlo. and Alpha halo has been destroyed. But we dont know what the Ark is. The Ark maybe the ship that launches off to earth in the Final Scene on the Halo 2.

They only said it's a Super Weapon, all other cutscenes have a different subject. SO WTF are you talking about?

well wtf... didnt the forerunners activate halo and they all died out except those on the earth... if that is true then there should be the "ark" on the earth since thats how they arrived there. and why does the monitors/covenant/flood speak english...

its not known well because the halo stories are deep but they are not easily revealed until the next and the next games. You've really got to pay attention to know whats going on.
Forerunners activated the Halos, a handful of them escaped in a ship called Ark that could activate halos. They crashed in Earth and came to live there without their technology, I believe. If the Forerunners were already settled in Earth, the earth would be the most powerful Galactic Nation ever known in the game.
How they escaped? They entered slipspace, and apparently no normal space energy or mass affecting in slipspace.
Covenant speak english in the game cause 1) Spartan Mjolnir Armor has a translating system that lets the spartan hear covenant language in english.
2) Covenants have studied the Humans for quite a time before the war began.
3) Monitors are the mystery. 4) Only Head-mind of the Flood can think and command the flood. Other floods are mere pawns. The Headmind is like Overmind of the Zerg. The Headmind has psychic powers like the Zerg Overmind, and of course if the Monitors can speak english, probably the Flood can speak english too because Floods can infect and feed off electronic info to their Headminds, or 'Gravemind' in Halo 2. ( I am a halo freak )

SO. since the halos were activated all forerunner life was destroyed leaving the flood with nothing to eat. this comes to the conclusion that:
1. The Elite homeworld is outside of the radius.
2. The rest of the coventant homeworlds could be inside the radius(they do not get infested)
3. Halo did infact kill humans
4. the flood stayed dormant or something

please correct me if im wrong.

PS. why would the halos be infested with flood? wouldnt the forerunner have lived on worlds and constructed halos as weapons?

Halo isnt infested with flood. the flood is stasised in the Halos, and in the story the humans and covenant came to the halo and released the Flood. The Halo was meant to be the science lab for studying the flood and if it got released for the destruction of flood. and Elite's and Prophets were formed AFTER the Halos activated. Approximately 100,000 local years has past since the Halo's activation. Thats enough time to form an intelligent life form, and no halo can't kill microscopic lifeforms or mice.

KrazY, on your second one, you should have used the color select tool to lift only the text from the Microsoft logo and then pasted it in a transparency-filled layer.

hmmm... then why would the flood be considered a threat if they only exist on halo? not even the pelicans or phantoms have enough fuel to reach it to an inhabited world.

It isn't that hard in Paint once you find out about the damn transparent background button...

floods are intelligent. They can repair and rebuild ships. They can even find an alternative fuel for ships, thats why they are so threatening.
