Wow... you need to settle down a little. I didn't look at the map... because apparently it's supposed to have reapeated stuff. And you can't load a trigger you can put the ammo into the gun but not the trigger. In my oppinion... if you cant come up with something fresh every 15 squares... maybe you should get rid of a few (lot) of stuff.

2/10 at most wooden. Have a spoonfull of your own medicine once or twice and humble yourself.

One thing that really ticks me off about people is about "blending". Many people seem to think that if you "blend" correctly so it looks good, the map will get better. WRONG.

Throughout your map wooden, I found a variety of cool hills and ramps (like that one ramp that goes left-right instead of diagonal; that was awesome). But while I go through this map at this very moment while i'm typing, I am constantly annoyed with these "terrain malfunctions". For example, you're on a hill and you can't see the hill below you, or maybe you're near a bridge, and you can't see the below the bridge until you get ON the bridge. About half of your interesting bridges are ignored because of how vision works with terrain.

I admit; I know absolutely nothing about "extended terraining" or "blending" or whatever. I do know game mechanics though. While all you guys are up there on your Laz-E Boy chairs shouting "OH OH BLENDING ERROR PWNT", i'm down here actually TESTING if it's pragmatic!

Then, there are some of you complaining that there's "nothing new". One thing I've learned about criticism is this: If you're going to insult someone, think "If I can really do better than what he did, then why am I wasting my time insulting him? There's work to be done!". If you can't do better, then shut your mouth you hypocrite! You have no right to say "Make something new" in an insulting way and not make anything new yourself!

Now, back to the matter at hand. Wooden, you have awesome terrain. Minor blockiness doesn't matter much, I mean are there actually people that stupid in the world who go to play maps just to point and say "OMG BLOCKINESS N00B"?
The main problem is that the constant vision impediments can get some people really ticked off!

Now remember, I know nothing about your newfangled "extended terrain" hooplah. But, if it's possible Wooden, it doesn't matter if the terrain isn't the "coolest" or the "newest", try to make terrain such that it works vision-wise in maps, and praises from those who play the map will follow.

That goes for the rest of you terrain mapmakers too.

Eh? I just thought he was a tad defensive. I found it odd that he said it was just only "acceptable", and then started defending his work he only considered "Ok". Also a tad odd when he said the word "newb" seven times spelt differently. Did he really need that much of an attitude/rant? Not really, but temporary mood swings are a better answer for that "attitude" than claiming he's a jerk.


*yawns* Just so wooden and everyone else knows, you can't "own" a map; technically Blizzard owns all maps, but of course none of you ever reads the Blizzard agreement when you made your account.

I like the terrain, some of the best I've seen, but I unno... something missing to me. I dont know what. And yes, I COULD do that, but it would take me a while (quite a while). So goodjob, but dont talk to people the way you did up there, because if you do, someday someone will beat the sh!t out of you.

Old news. Newbs like you few who have typed above have already tried to fight my "propogandized" arrogence that a few select individuals trying invoking their own flamming from me.

This is an example professionally made terrain. "Stuff" I would hope everyone on SEN can create...

After viewing your terrain for more than 10 minutes, I feel the urge to deliver my humble opinion. Your terrain has very unique structure and while meticulously staring at your artwork, I realized that it must have taken a lot of time to craft. Although some of the terrain is a bit repetitive ( I'm not saying that's bad.... ) , the big picture is moderately adequate.

Also, I agree with Mr.Kirbycode774. Extended terrain is no doubt extraordinary, but if it can't be used properly in-game, then what's the point of having that piece of terrain? And lastly WoodenFire.....while I was reading your posts, I could not resist the urge to smile. It's so funny how you call everyone else newbies when in fact, they could call you a newb for OTHER things like...playing Halo 2 or typing improperly with many grammar errors (especially spelling mistakes).

It's always easier said than done. But, he has many valid points. When the terrain loses its functionallity, it becomes nothing more but a show.

It doesn't really matter if I do or do not have a "reputation" on SEN. It still does not affect how I look at terrain....and I don't really need any uber custom terrain-making skills to see that terrain is repetitive. (Again, not saying that's bad.) Also...don't you mean "as any other person can" instead of "as can any other person"?

Well there are just a few things I would like to say about this. First off, I think that your terrain is awsome. It is very well crafted, and has many neat extended terrain...things on it that I've never really seen before. Me being the terrain-newb that I am, I cannot critisize your work. But I can say a few other things. To put it into simple terms, I think your attitude just plain sucks. One of the things I noticed you say was:


Well, if you don't want to be critisized, then I suggest that you don't post here, because that is what this 'Terrain' forum is for. And if you don't like that, than tough. You can't expect hundreds (I think even thousands) of people to change just for you. You are'nt any more special than any of us. Just because you are'nt well known doesn't mean you can't be good at what you can do. And also, who's to say none of these people don't have any expieriance with custom terrain? I certainly don't, but many other people here have made many things better than what I've seen from you.

Also, I can't help but laugh at how you think that everybody is flamming you, when you are the one flamming everyone else. Want some examples?
