But I've heard that some moderators have the attitude that, "Oh, he reports to often, I won't do anything about his reports".  Is that really a good way to go about doing things?

No, at least I take all Reported posts seriously, doesn't matter who sends them.

I do report occasionally. And some times i've warned the same person 12 times in a day. So supposivly since I can confirm the posts were either filled with a flame or a spam they should of at least got suspened. But no, I don't even get a complain from this person online about how they were warned (Which I knew they would do). That's 12 posts all disregarded because I "left the warnings to you". Maybe you should add a side note to the rules that one worded posts or completely useless and meaningless posts are not considered spam.

You do have to take into consideration that the same Moderator won't recieve those 12 reported posts, so at times, Mods won't notice that the person was verbally warned before. I'd also highly doubt that a person would say "Thanks for reporting me 12 times". I really don't know how people go about that, but logic tells me that they'd "reply" to your suspected reported post about once every 10 warns. There is no way to tell if a post was reported or a Mod stumbled upon it, and if it was reported, no way to know who it was.

As I said before, we do everything possible to keep warns and warn log private from others. We prefer that only the people who were punished know that any action was taken. Most of the time we will set the post as invisible, and thus will be forgotten by you guys.

I understand I'm being a bit hypocritical, as my record isn't spotless. However this annoys me because genuinely interesting topics are degrading into character assassination, flaming, etc., and therefore it's hard to hold a political or religious discusion on any near contreversial topic anymore. This inability annoys and frustates me and my expectations, on coming back to this community, were fo something a little more mature.

Coming back from a long SEN break, I'm pissed off about Serious Discussion. Reading through some topics, I'm finding that even good threads have escalaed into lies, childish namecalling, and violent, senseless aruguing.

Some people, on both sides, are especially unreasonable. i've noticed TheDaddy and Kellimus, to take an isolated example go at each other's throat with a startling immaturity. Threads this have disgusted me. I think that, at least in v5, moderators and amdins should be more agressive in banning people from the Serious Discussion forums. I also think new members should have to accumulate a set ampunt of reputation before they may post in Serous Discussion. The flaming and childishness that have gone on in there, on both sides, is quite disgusting. I think some sort of solution is badly needed.

used to post A LOT in the SD discussion, but one day I just stopped and I realized that it's a waste of time and it saves me the trouble of getting worked up over stupid crap people post.

So why does it feel like only you and Will are doing your jobs?

ADDITION:
And Shotgun: Why not go in and restore the "integrity" (If there even was any to begin with) of it with a logical argument?

In essense, just RFEPORT THESE POSTS AND FORGET ABOUT THEM, DON'T GO REPLYING TO THEM.

most peopel don't reply to flame. i can't say that i reply to flame very often (allthow maybe i do sometimes), but it's not the reply to a flame from a not-flamer that spoils it. 2 guys just sit in there & make offtopic posts that discuss maturity of each other or something else. so it depends on the attitude of 2 people.
