Lol this reminds me of.. the south park episode of wal-mart I loved it... It was so funny... But i don't have any thing wrong with the place. We just recently got a super Wal-mart by us.... But i did hear they have like Etheopean slaves or somthing that they pay like 2 cents an hour... But thats a rumor! not sure if its true!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mune'R0x on 2006-08-03 at 15:08:20
No, that's true. That's why all the products are so cheap. Because they are made for cheap by children and abused workers in sweatshops.

Dont like the salaries and benefits at wal-mart. DONT WORK THERE!!!

Dont like imigrants stealing your jobs because they work harder than you and for less money. Tough crap. Maybe youre the one who doesnt deserve to live in america.

The point is that wal-mart is for students and teens and if you want a real job you probably should of gotten an education.

You do realize that most of the people who work at wal-mart are cashiers or baggers making or slightly above minimum wage? Food Lion doesn't give benefits to their cashiers. If you want a job that has health benefits, get a real job.

Besides, full health benefits for every employee, would cost too much money. They would have to start laying off employees because of that.

Actually, Wal Mart has more than enough money to provide their employees with some kind of benefits.

Why in the hell would they give benefits to cart pushers? If you wanted benefits why didn't you go to college? I mean they already have a bundle of homeless people begging for jobs and willing to be paid virtually nothing, so what is the point of adding benefits to lure in more employees? That would be just stupid.

Once again I'll say that you don't have any idea how bad working for Wal Mart is until you have worked there yourself.

Your right, they should just hand it out. Hell, they should give out their products for free.

Wal-Mart is an evil company. Why? They pay their workers the lowest possible wage, without any benefits of any sort. They then allow the workers to work their way up the tree, but once they get near the fruit (full time workers all qualify for benefits) Wal-Mart fires them.

Why do they have such low prices? You say the US is a small business kinda place, well Wal-Mart will lower the prices, even to the point that sales cause them to lose money, and bankrupt the smaller businesses, once they kill the competition they can re-raze their prices again, and make loads more money due to the lack of competition.

Do I shop at Wal-Mart, well, there's the problem. Most of the time, when I wanna get something small, I'll go someplace else. If I'm making a major purchase, maybe I'll go there. I bought a brand new X-box for 175$. To date that's the only purchase I've ever made there.

Did I miss anything?

Can you tell us how bad it is?
Im sure they pay miniumum wage and its mostly for teens who are looking for a job to buy clothes for themselves or save money for a car.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mune'R0x on 2006-08-04 at 17:05:37
No, they don't. They pay EVERYONE the same starting wage. $5.40 an hour is what I would get. After 6 months they gave me a raise of $.40. The only times after that when you can get a raise is if you're extremely good at your job and your manager decides to give you one. I've never seen that happen to anyone. And the other time is every year on your hiring date you get another $.40 raise.

My aunt has worked at the Wal-Mart in my town since it first opened. 16 years ago. She started out as minimum wage, which was a lot less back then. Got less of a raise when they gave them out. And Wal-Mart doesn't make up those lost wages that people would've gotten back then. So even the people who have worked at Wal-Mart the longest are getting crap wages.

And you know how it's so bad? The pay is far too little for what you have to deal with. The customers, the associates, the work... Horrible!

It's called predatory pricing, and it's perfectly legal. You should be happy, the lower prices mean you pay less.

But you know what it does, right? It drives out all the smaller businesses which forces the people who tried making their living at those businesses to work for Wal Mart for cheaper wages. Which in turn, makes Wal-Mart rich and a semi-monolopy.

Actually the lower prices mean people lose their jobs, and that the prices will return to 2x the height when the goal has been accomplished, so no. It does not benefit anyone but the company.

March of 2005 they were opening the Super Wal-Mart in my town. I was 16 and needed a job cause I was gonna buy a car. So they hired me along with 100 some other people with little to no job experience. It was a mistake that I wish i could take back.
