Well, obviously, just i was wondering if they were adding more features? Cause just making a new system is dull when you could just make those games on the system before it.

True that. I knew there was someone in the globe who agreed with me that PS3 is absolutely worthless. It just has improved graphics. Thats all..

Its not like PS3 is going to be some SUPERB new games that everyone is so pumped up about. Its the dum old brand name that keeps people excited for its release.

ON THE OTHER HAND, Wii has several great games coming out. Not to mention the cool new nunchuck controller that you can swing around for fun, not arm exercise...

Well, the PS3 does have the Blu-Ray player, which is about half as much as a standalone blu-ray player. The controller has the ripped off motion sensor. Plus some of the games don't look bad. It's the price that really kills it. $600? $100 for games?

Well, not necessarily. Some Sony bigwig said they'd run anywhere from $50 to $100.

Which, in marketjargon, means "$90-100".

Well, here's my two bits on this. the wii is a wierd name to name it, but most i'll just call it revolution. anyway, i personally think this system will be a top wanted and best seller system when it comes out. in my opinion, i like it compared to the ps3. the ps3 is like 600 bucks compared to the revolution, 400 bucks cheaper.

other than the cost, i'd see the features very impressive. the controllers are wierd, but they're just like a tv remote and a nunchuck-like controller. a new way and unique way of playing video games also my opinion. it'll also probably be one a good virtual reality system because the controllers has motion sensors that when you move it, will move characters and objects in game. it is said you can play virtually any nintendo game on it, from old school nintendo to gamecube i think. it's has online play and is able to attach the nintendo ds to the system. all those features sounds very cool. the system can constantly be online as long as your internet is up. it will update when you're sleeping and stuff like that.

i'll probably get it after the month of its release to see if prices drop. the game i'd be interested in if it had super smash brothers game for it, then you can online play with other people as i've heard. also the system is only good as the games and features come for it, and so far the revolution will win by a long shot in my opinion.

EDIT: Also you can check out nintendo's official website for more info, the specifications, cpu speed, all the tidbits on the system though the stuff they said on the cpu sounds hi-tech.

wow graphics by ati...which means Wii graphics will beat gamecube graphics..its not like ati is gonna make crappy graphics
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathawk on 2006-09-20 at 01:33:20
Uhh.. Gamecube also had graphics by ATI.

A blu-ray player now is overpriced though, and really has no use. Who here owns any blu-rays, or plans on buying any..? Of course, they probably will be the new generation of optical disk storage, but no need to buy a player now. Look at DVD+/-R/RW drives for a computer... 30 dollars.. probably costed just as much as a Blu Ray drive does now, if not more...

Don't expect the price to drop within the first month. Don't expect it to drop within the first year, either. Although a drop in the controller prices would be nice...

I really don't see Blu-Ray as having a use as a video disc, but as storage. The insane amount of memory they can hold would be nice for backing up files. I myself could store my entire hard drive on two discs. But they do need a major price drop if they hope to be used in non-corporate uses.

You could get a damn new harddrive if you really want to back up your harddrive.. Get an external 500gb HDD, or make your own... lol..
This will be used for better videos.. better bit rate = better quality.. better bit rate = more space used.. sad.gif

What the hell? 90-100 for a game?!?! You gotta be kidding me.

Goodbye, my Sony friend....

The official figure was "between $50 and $100", but I decided to translate that into English for you all. I doubt there will be any $50 PS3 games.

The price still doesn't matter much. Yea sure the PS3 is gonna be extremely expensive. Everone knows that...

But what really suks bout PS3 is that PS3 will only be IMPROVED PS2. It will not have any new special features or anything new. It will just have better graphics I guess... It doesn't even deserve to be compared with Wii and 360 as the New Generation of Game systems.

actually from what i heard about the ps3, it might be a pretty good system. people have said the ps3 will act and play as if it were a computer and it'll set up nearly the same as a computer from the sources i got. but it being a mimic of a computer is redundant if you already have one. other than that, the info right now isnt solid so we'll see.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by dumbducky on 2006-09-21 at 15:39:43
Except it'll be a computer with 9 core processors. Good luck finding a computer with that on the market.

@Deadly: PS3 has significantly larger processing power. And the sorta motion detecting controller is also new. But they lost rumble, which sucks for them tongue.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathawk on 2006-09-21 at 18:12:07
The closest to come to that performance would be the upcomming socket.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_4x4 from ATI.. Some server computers do use dual socket opterons(Socket 940 and Socket F), but those aren't really for homes.

Zomg!

360 cam + xbox live + UNO = Strip Uno! Lol.

Ps3 + tilt function + chairs = uh, falling off chairs?

Wii + wiimote and nunchuck = Strong arms! watch out for friends though!

They found out a month after i did! (SLOW) So they asked me "Did you hear about the new Nintindo system?" I say "Yeah, its awsome you have wireless motion play and you can download old games as well!" After they heard me say the Download old game stuff they are like "WE ARE TOTALLY GETTING THAT WII"

It is awesome how they recently said you could buy old classics for $5 dollars on Nintendo, Super Nintendo and the other old consoles. On the Nintendo 64, the prices cost $10 a game. You can buy gamecube games because they have reverse playability. Too bad you couldn't trade in games though. sad.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Deathawk on 2006-09-25 at 19:31:59
Is it really 5 dollars and 10 dollars? That's too expensive.. sad.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Cnl.Fatso on 2006-09-25 at 20:14:55
They said it would be $.50-1.00, but no, they have to bump the price up to make 1000% profit on the bandwidth and licensing.

@dumbducky (from the page before) um... yea... I don't really care about another DVD player by the way. I would ultimately prefer to keep my gamecube games and play with nunchucks than HALF-MOTION detecting machine that can supposedly act half as good as a computer.

But hey, thats just my preference. Wii's games are still gonna own games coming out on PS3. about the only game I want is PSU and its gonna come out for 360 as well.. Might as well buy that system and the game for the fun of it..

The fact that Wii is backward compatible is really awesome..
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kyuubi. on 2006-09-25 at 23:57:22
yeah, i really like that part on the wii. being able to play your old gamecube games. would that mean you can store/sell or put away your gamecube system since you dont just need the gamecube to play it anymore?

i wonder how the gamecube systems will sell. last time i checked gamecubes cost about 100 bucks and thats dirt cheap right now. meh, well just see what happens.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by (DI)Yulla on 2006-09-26 at 00:10:37
From what I know, I dont think that gamecube system will sell any higher than 30 bucks depending on condition. I mean, with wii coming out in couple monthes, no unaware nintendo lovers would ignore wii...

I was going to sell my gc for any profit. I would need the extra cash for wii games anyways...
