Isn't pcx an image? It would probably be set to be downloadable and not as a regular image.

ADDITION:
Failed how?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Pie_Sniper on 2006-09-24 at 15:36:06
It said the extension was not allowed.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by IsolatedPurity on 2006-09-24 at 15:38:31
Fixed that... are they downloadable then?

If you have better icons specific to those file types... (if you guys that use them actually care)... attach some smile.gif
16x16 if you don't want to wait for me to get around to converting it

If it was you, Voyager, don't go poking around in my PAT file. tongue.gif

Okay, then in that case, you already know all about my PAT file. tongue.gif

Seriously? all these extentions.. why not just post a single mpq?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by WoAHorde2 on 2006-09-24 at 18:05:56
Corbo's right here. Why do we need all these file extensions, when we can just extract them from the MPQ itself?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by dumbducky on 2006-09-24 at 18:07:04
MPQs aren't allowed, are they? That's another thing you should probably add.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Pie_Sniper on 2006-09-24 at 18:47:29
So you people complain if someone posts a zipped map or makes you decompile iscript/aiscript.bin but you don't mind extracting from an MPQ? Okay...

Good. Never had to use .rar, but I'm quite sure it's better then .zip.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by dumbducky on 2006-09-26 at 15:50:47
compresses 8-15% better, supposedly.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Doodle77(MM) on 2006-09-26 at 16:51:41
7Zip > RAR (open source AND more flexible AND better compression)

Hey, wait, what about the people that dont have WinRar? How are they supposed to open the .rar files? Can WinZip do it?
I dont have winzip, so i dont know.

ยป 7Zip > RAR
As I said, you will find the results are different every time. The only constant is that ZIP is the biggest. tongue.gif

.gz turns 850mb of text into 127mb... I think that's pretty sweet. I don't care enough to extract the file and test it on other compressions though.

.rar is popular... so it was added... okay... but are we seriously talking about 7zip now? I never even heard of it.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mini Moose 2707 on 2006-09-27 at 15:15:48
I can agree with .rar because it's number two in popularity to .zip... but, 7zip, while good compression, is used far less often.

.bmp's don't have attachment previews.

Example: Attached File 3.bmp ( 13.6k ) Number of downloads: 0

bmp's are windows specific and dont have compression (or at least good compression). Basically, use PNG instead of BMP.

.bmp is the filetype used by retrogrp, therefore it is sometimes useful to use that filetype.
