If your doing homework and gaming, you are probably paying attention to one of the two, but the other being nothing but a distraction. Multitasking big stuffs like that at once doesn't give any benefit at all. Big stuff as in the need of concentrating.

Try singing along with a song that you're listening to (not just humming either) and typing something at the same time. Perfect example of multitasking. I find it semi-difficult.

Hehe, I fail to see why training in multi-tasking makes us stupider, maybe it might have an effect that speeds up our reaction skill.

Multi-tasking I always do, like Gaming and then doing math at the same time. 
But seriously, it ruins the gaming and mostlikely, the math problem will probably have a wrong answer.
