Well russ finished the Civilan Patrols and now the map either looks:
-Unprofessional because they walk all over the road
Or
-Active and when they walk on the road it looks like they're crossing, but they cross every few seconds...

Also I decided that I will try to make some missions while russ works on the map. I'll basically just test them out with diolouge and other things, and do the final versions in the final version of the game.
Also not sure if I mentioned these quickies:
-Cops will appear brown on the map
-The sniper mission, will actully be missions, it's an assest
-The Sniper assest is Ammunation, you have to shoot targets, it get's harder and harder, starts slow like none moving objects, then slow moving objects, the final level will be scourges or something.

Anyhow, I'm working on the map as much as I can trying to put in all ideas from my partners as well as things I know from playing the game. I'm trying to make as realistic as possible. I know it can't be the real thing, but my goal stays the same.
Right now, Im doing most of the work mainly because of the triggers involved. If you played my hockey map, the triggers are basicly that difficulty. Me, GgG-Criminal and GgG-Numb formed a map making label called P².
P²: Pimpz Productionz was created to do group projects and VC is our first one. We have branch labels - RMM:Russ Map Making and Crim Productionz. We got a new member rescently, MillenniumArmy and his MAP:MilleniumArmy Productions and are hoping to do the best job we can on this map. After this map, look for our other projects.
For those who don't know my hockey map, it's attached. Created a while back, I jsut never posted it. It's a fun map played by alot of GgG members. Its now a recruit map, so get good at it, and try out.

Also the reason why russ is doing most of triggers is because
1. Have you seen my other maps? They're all movies, which require like 4 triggers, so I'm not so great at them
2. Crim doesn't have time he pops in every now and then
3. Russ works wicked fast.
It took crim a month or two to make 2 car patrols, russ finished the patrols in like 2 weeks.

Oh yeah I forgot to say:
We got rid of a lot of weapons (There's only 4-5 now) because we need them for other things...
that active spot is not really active, but that's a good thing, since alot of people is bad, but a reasonable amount like that is good, and this map is looking very sweet.
How about you guys try for a late-april early-may release date?

So your saying that 2 cars wizy by an airplane flying over and civs walking around, is NOT active? Keep in mind we used 90 locations for all the patrols.

About the speed of patrols:
It took crim 3 months to do 2 car patrols because crim was making basics. He was laying down the foundation and trying out new ways of doing it and improving it. Also, unlike me, crim likes to do little things now and then. I sit down with a goal and do it all in 3 hrs. Also, It didn't take me 2 weeks to do the rest of the patrols. Numb was right the first time. It took me a morning to do the rest of the patrols because I knew what I was doing. It "took me two weeks" because I asked Numb to do it, and after two weeks and no results decided to do it myself.
The activity. The map is pretty active. You have to keep in mind that the pics are always old. Once there's a test version pic numb puts on, I'm allready working and improving. The last pic had 2 cars, a plane and a civ. Allready there are improvements such as hookers. All mapmakers know, you're not done until you're done
meaning we could change alot of stuff either because of complications, crowding, or just to improve the map.
I thank you for your suggestions and I'll keep them in mind as we continue our project.
As for release date. Right now, I cannot give a specific date because I am unaware of the mission settings my partners will use. The patrols will be done by the end of this week and the city will come to life. From there, all missions will be added, AI for cops will be added, land purchase, and many bug fixes will be added. Expect it soon if I'm involved. Expect a good map as it took hard work to create and many ideas.
All I have to say is keep to the storyline or change the game name to something other than Vice City. What people don't seem to grasp with maps made after movies or games is it needs to be close if not exact to the storyline in the actual movie or game.

What fun would it be to create a SC version of VC? It'd be boring, you'd waste a lot of time instead of just buying the real game for 20 dollars or so. It's called Vice City because the basic terrian looks a lot like VC, Haitans, Cubans are in it, and some other things (Like the mansion on the middle island) The town terrian is nothing like VC. The airport in location in the bottom right hand corner of the map and where the docks are in real VC there is an ammunation and docks.
The missions are oringal and can barley be linked to the real VC at all. Making it more fun since you don't know that the 3rd mission you have to smash some jury's cars. Also it'd be pretty impossible to renact some of the VC missions (Mainly all of the Movie studio ones) so we decided to make our own missions. Crim is busy helping russ and russ is busy doing the triggers for the town and everything. So I'm in charge of missions so far, I only have the base of them though, not all in detail.

We're trying to be as close to the real thing as possible. But as you know, that's pretty much impossible. So, we get as many things close to Vc as we can. We got our islands and 3 bridges, the car patrols, weapons, and missions to come. I understand what you mean by keeping it close and that's what we're trying to do. I can't guarantee perfection but I can guarantee we will try.

No we're not, you haven't talked to crim about this as I have (We had a map game once where we litterally talked in game for 45 minutes) There isn't Diaz, or Lance, or Cortez, or any of the main characters, the missions are not even close to things in VC, no Umberto, or Aunt Paulie, none of that.

Don't let limits stop the production on this map. You know theres always a way around it.
Nothing is stopping the map except maybe russ trying to say something that isn't true.
It's just 0% possible of doing a good version of a copy of GTA VC. In TPSs you have to aim, you don't have to do that in SC which deletes most missions in the game that require aimming, which is why we need to make a new opringal version.
