Well, computers and robots and everything are made to do things better than we do them. We make robots so that we can satisfy needs that we've managed to pile up. If we don't want any AI robots, then we just don't make them. Or, if we have a practical use for them, we make them non lethal, like with no possible weapons on them, or made of marshmallows tongue.gif

Cloning does have practical uses, like organ donoring, or prolonging someone's public life cool1.gif . And someone else can't tell you that you can't clone yourself if you have the technology. Why should they? Some bleeding heart in Iran isn't gonna stop me from making an army of myself to take over Pakistan with. bash.gif

You still shouldn't disrepect all the people who died. You don't have to worship them, just give them respect and remember them for a minute once a flippen year.

Actually my aunt Barbra was there, recieved a fractured thigh bone from being trampled on way down stairs. Yet I'm still saying it. Truth must be said.

Even an athiest can see that your a fake christian chris. Going to church, praying, and attending bible camp does not make you christian. By asking for harm to come to any people, you are going against the very basic principles of christ. When they beat christ, did he once stand up and beat them back? Nope. BINARY DEFENSE TOURNAMENT!

It's been awhile since there was a big UMS playing tournament, so HorroR and I have decided to put on a Binary Defense tournament.

I want to try something different with the tournament brackets. Here is a diagram of how the matches would be carried out in a hypothetical tournament:
QUOTE
                    WINNERS' SIDE

A vs. B        C vs. D        E vs. F        G vs. H
    |                 |                 |                 |

                     |                   |
                 B vs. D          F vs. H

                      LOSERS' SIDE

Each letter represents a team. In the first round at the top of the bracket (red letters), Team A defeats Team B. However, that does not mean the game is over for Team B. All of the losers in the first set of matches get sent to their own special "Loser Tournament" (green letters) and will get a chance at revenge. The very bottom set of matches in the bracket represent the first of the losers' games. Once there, Team B fights fellow loser Team D and wins. After the red bracket's next batch of rounds has ended, the losers from those games are seeded (yellow letters) into the second round of the losers' games. Once the winners and losers have fought it out with each other, the best loser will face off against the best winner in the final match.

Prizes will only be awarded to the two teams in the final match. The prizes are:

-2100 minerals for the champions.
-750 minerals for the runner-ups.

The prize money will be split either 2 or 3 ways, depending on the number of players in the teams.

-MATCH RULES:
Each set of rounds will last for a week. For instance, the top row of matches will be allowed one week to play. When a match is played, I (or Horror) must receive one replay from each team in the match. PM me those, please. The bottom row of the loser matches also counts in the first week of matches, but I will give the losing teams 3 extra days if they need more time. The first week will begin Monday, July 3rd. At that point, I will randomly determine who everyone will fight. You will have until Sunday, the 9th to get me the replays, and the games will continue in that pattern. If I receive no replays, then teams will be disqualified at my discretion.

-GAME RULES:
Lifting of buildings and putting them on the course is not allowed, nor is making "unit walls" to block the path of the oncoming enemies. You can use units to force enemies around them, but not totally cut them off. No hacks are allowed either. Anyone found hacking or breaking the rules will forfeit the match.

-TEAM RULES:
Each match will be held between two teams of 2 people each. Its up to the members to decide who they will be playing with and what the team names will be. Be sure and tell me in this topic the specifics of your teams. If the game proves to be popular enough though, I will up the team sizes to 3 people each.

THE ENTRANCE FEE IS 20 MINERALS PER PERSON

-YOU TRUST US, RIGHT?
Horror and I would like to play in this tournament. We will be on the same team. We will play by the rules, but if anyone suspects that we are not, then post the replay somewhere for everyone to see and we will be shamefully out-casted if found guilty. If we win the whole thing, then we get to keep the 1800 mineral prize. >=D

Teams:
-Team A: Doodan and Horror
-Team B: Mp)Dada and PuRe(
-Team C: Merrell and CheeZe
-Team D: Kow and n2o-SiMpSoNs
-Team E: Echo and fritfrat(U)
-Team F: Maith and DevliN
-Team G: Dark_Marine_123 and The_Lead_Factor
-Team H: empty and laser_dude

Okay then, let's take a minute of silence every day for 9/11.
Let's also take another for Pearl Harbor.
Let's take a minute every day to remember Gettysburg and time for all the other battles of the Civil War.
We should also grieve over all the men lost in the War of 1812.
And all of those battles in the American Revolution...

Wow, with all those daily minutes of silence I need an extra hour in my day!

Wait a minute war of 1812 was about U.S.A wanting more land thus declaring war back onto the british rather then 1776. Since U.S wanted to expand the boarder because population started to rise just like british canada so thus the war of 1812 was formed. Canada was able to secure its country but both lost there buildings. Parliment for canada and "repainted" whitehouse for U.S.A. Imagine if another war like that happend again. The war of 2012.

I think its strange that that event would go down into history books, yet the killing of civilians in iraq will most likely end up being forgotten within the next fifteen years. These people are not oppressing freedom, they are oppressing the freedom brought by outsiders, because people not only want to be "free" they want to seperate and individualized. The very structure that is invading their lands and has been for some time, as this war has continued for a time before the 9/11 bombing, is not their own, and they are trying hard to resist the movement. Although I do not agree with their means in the least bit, for killing innocent people is a horrible atrocity indeed; their goals of trying to be seperate and have freedom in their own right, without the shadow of another nation watching them, are close to what we fought for in the american revolution.

Secret Bush Admin Program Monitors International Bank Records
The Bush administration has been secretly monitoring thousands of international bank transactions without court-approval. The secret program was enacted shortly after the 9/11 attacks in what government officials say is a crucial weapon in tracking the financing of terrorist activity. The information has been obtained from the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication, or SWIFT. The organization helps direct trillions of dollars in daily international bank transfers. Officials told the Los Angeles Times the program has been “marginally successful” in tracking the financial activity of al Qaeda. SWIFT executives apparently tried to withdraw from the program after becoming concerned over its legality. The executives were persuaded to continue their cooperation only after the intervention of top government officials, including former Federal Reserve Chair Alan Greenspan.

Papers Detail Bank Program Over White House Objection
Major stories on the bank-monitoring program appeared in today’s editions of the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times and the Wall Street Journal. Both the New York Times and Los Angeles Times say the Bush administration lobbied them to withhold publication on the grounds public disclosure would harm national security.

Iraq Declares State of Emergency; More Than 2 Dozen Killed
In Iraq, the government has declared a state of state of emergency following a series of attacks in Baghdad. Earlier today, insurgents set up roadblocks and opened fire on U.S. and Iraqi troops close to the US-run Green Zone. Elsewhere in the Iraqi capital, 10 people were killed and 15 wounded in a bombing of a Sunni mosque. Another 19 deaths were reported around Baghdad. Meanwhile in Basra, at least five people were killed and fifteen wounded when a car bombing struck a market and a nearby gas station.

Report: Iraq Prepares Sweeping Amnesty Offer
The Times of London is reporting the Iraqi government is preparing a major amnesty offer to Iraq’s resistance groups. The amnesty would promise a timetable for the withdrawal of foreign troops; inclusion in the political process; a halt to US operations on insurgent strongholds, and compensation to civivilian victims of armed attacks. There are no signals the US government has backed the proposal. A White House official said the administration has not agreed to any offer that would grant amnesty to insurgents who have killed US troops.

Senate Rejects Iraq Withdrawal
Meanwhile on Capitol Hill, the Senate rejected two separate measures calling for the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq.

    * Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist: "None of us know for sure exactly how the democratic reform in Iraq will turn out as we stay committed. But, we do know it will fail if it is abandoned prematurely by the United States. Withdrawal is not an option. Surrender is not a solution."

Both measures were proposed by Democrats. A proposal calling for a withdrawal without a firm deadline was defeated 60 to 39. Another measure calling for a troop withdrawal by July of next year was defeated by an even wider margin -- 89 to 13. The measure was introduced by Massachusets Senator John Kerry. Speaking on the Senate floor, Kerry argued that a firm timetable is necessary.

    * Senator John Kerry: "Why on earth would senators come to the floor and argue 'Let's just stay the course and do the same old thing' when our own generals have told us the same old thing is part of the part of the problem? The same old thing is attracting terrorists. The same old thing is losing us allies. The same old thing is costing us unbelievable sums of money and lives unnecessarily."

House Rolls Back Estate Tax
In other Congressional news, the House voted Thursday to roll back parts of the estate tax. Republicans call the bill a “compromise” because it does not completely eliminate the estate tax on those who inherit property. The House bill exempts taxes on individuals with estates valued up to $5 million dollars and on couples with estates valued up to $10 million dollars. Heirs of estates valued at up to $25 million dollars would also see a drop in their tax rates. The bill will now go to the Senate. Congressional tax experts estimate that only 5100 estates would now face taxation, down from the current number of 30,000. The bill is estimated to cost up to $300 billion dollars. The House vote came just one day after the Senate rejected a measure that would have raised the minimum wage for the first time in nearly a decade.

7 Arrested in Alleged Terror Plot
In Miami, seven people were arrested Thursday on charges of plotting to launch attacks inside the United States. The alleged targets include Chicago's Sears Tower, an FBI office in Miami and other federal buildings. Authorities say the suspects prepared for the attacks out of a Miami warehouse. The seven are believed to be young American Muslims in their late teens and early twenties. A man claiming to be a member of the group told CNN Thursday they are peaceful and innocent of the charges.

US Presses To Bar Venezuela From Security Council
At the United Nations, the Bush administration pressed on Thursday with its campaign to prevent Venezuela from securing an open seat on the Security Council. Under UN rules, Latin American governments are entitled to pick a country from the region to fill the rotating seat that comes open next year. Brazil, Argentina, Cuba, Bolivia, Uruguay, Paraguay and several Caribbean nations have already backed Venezuela. The U.S. is lobbying for Guatemala to get the seat.

    * UN Ambassador John Bolton: "Our view is that Venezuela would not be a constructive member of the Security Council. We've made that clear in a number of diplomatic efforts and that that's our position which I think we've expressed quite strongly and quite clearly."

Bolivia Says De Lozada Gov. Looted Central Bank
In Bolivia, the government says it has obtained proof members of ex-president Sanchez de Lozada's government stole millions of public funds. On Thursday, Bolivia released video footage apparently showing ex-government figures looting money from Bolivia’s Central Bank. The footage is dated just days before de Lozada’s government was forced from office in October 2003.

El-Masri Inquiry Hears Evidence Germany Knew of Kidnapping
In Germany Thursday, a parliamentary inquiry heard new evidence the government failed to take action upon hearing Khaled el-Masri had been kidnapped and handed to the CIA. El-Masri is the German citizen who was kidnapped and held in a secret prison in Afghanistan, where he says was repeatedly beaten and drugged. He was eventually released after his captors realized they had the wrong man.

    * Wolfgang Neskovic of Germany’s Left Party: "Today's examination was another piece in the puzzle that the German government's claim it had only heard of el-Masri's abduction after he was freed is wrong."

Study: Recent Climate Change Unprecedented
In environmental news, the National Academy of Sciences has released a study showing that the recent surges in global temperatures are unprecedented for at least the last 400 years and potentially the last several millennia. Keeping in mind natural factors such as volcanic eruptions and solar radiation, the study nonetheless concludes that available evidence supports the argument that human activities are responsible for much of the recent warming.

Global Warming Accounts For Half of Hurricane-Inducing Water Warmth
Meanwhile, a new study by the National Center for Atmospheric Research has found global warming accounted for close to half of the extra warmth found in the tropical North Atlantic waters that fueled hurricanes last year. The study said natural cycles were only a minor factor, contradicting claims that natural cycles are responsible for the recent increase in Atlantic hurricane activity.

UN Warns ’06 Hurricanes Could Further Devastate Haiti
Meanwhile the UN is warning this year’s hurricane season could lead to another major disaster in Haiti. More than 1500 people were killed and thousands of homes were destroyed when Hurricane Jeanne struck Haiti in September of 2004.

    * Erdem Ergin of the UN Developmental Program: "Our main problem, I would say, is not the preparedness and response capacity of the country. It is the high state of vulnerability of the country. Haiti now has such a depletion of natural resources that we don't really need a major hurricane to wreak havoc, normal rain can cause a lot of damage. So this is the threshold for a disaster to happen, is very low in Haiti."

AT&T’s New Privacy Policy Says It Owns Costumers’ Info
In privacy news, AT&T has introduced a new policy that says the company owns customers’ account information and can share it with government agencies. Under the new policy, AT&T will collect customers' user names, passwords, charges, payments, and online purchases. It will also track their activity while on sites that AT&T operates in a partnership with Yahoo. The changes come as AT&T is embroiled in a lawsuit brought by the Electronic Frontier Foundation over the company’s involvement in the NSA spy program.

“My Name Is Rachel Corrie” Finds New York Home
And a play based on the writings of the late peace activist Rachel Corrie has finally found a theatre in New York. “My Name Is Rachel Corrie” will open at the Minetta Lane Theater in October. Based on Corrie’s diaries, e-mails and letters, the play was originally supposed to open at the New York Theatre Workshop in March – just days after the three-year anniversary of Rachel Corrie’s death under an Israeli bulldozer in Gaza. But the workshop’s directors indefinitely postponed the production following concerns over its political content.

Take a few moments to look at the pictures in this yahoo image search.
(it's not porn or anything inappropriate)
http://www.staredit.net/index.php?showtopi...ndpost&p=511976

Now think, in some of thes pictures, do you find that person attractive?
Give yourself a second look if you must.

Now,

That's Harisu, a korean woman. Well, at least her certificate says so. Harisu was actually a man. She had always been feminen, so she figured might as well her appearance be so too. She had surgery and implants and became who you see today. She had her certificate legally changed to the status of Female, which also prevented her from manditory military training.

I've seen Harisu on television and thought "Wow, what a beautiful woman." Beautiful, I thought. Not hot, or sexy. Beautiful. I then find out from my brother that she was formally a man. And though she has breasts as women do and a vagina as well, but she is unable to bear a child.

Now, here's the question:
Technology has advanced to such a degree where man can become woman to an extent and vice versa. Even just recently, European gynocologysts have attempted to repair certain parts of female vaginas to "regain their virginity", even though it's just a lie. And the doctors know that.

Anyhow, were you to meet a woman some day and had fallen in love with her, dated, even made love, and decided to marry one day. The day before your wedding, she felt that she loved you enough to tell you the truth; that she was in fact, a man.

Most likely, you'd be shocked if not terrified. At first, it's understandable you'd run away, avoid, or even deny the fact and it's just her not wanting to marry you. The question is when you accept the truth.

Would you give it some more time, but still marry this love of your life, or would you feel too embarrassed or too disappointed to marry her?

I've asked this to others before. Some say that she's a man and that's disgusting. Then I'd ask them does that mean they fell in love with her physical features and not the personality? They would then be silent and give a shrug or say that it's still disgusting.

Some others have replied that she wouldn't be able to bear children. Well, does that mean infertile women do not deserve love and marriage?

I personally don't know how I would deal with it. I'd like to say that I would stick with it because I believe that's what would be right (if I had fallen so deeply in love as to marry the person). But when time really comes, who really knows?

It's funny, you watch her and it might cross your mind, "Damn, she makes a better woman than most that I know."

Many people are close-minded and oftentimes their own religion causes it so. I dare claim that more than half the people who think they know what they believe--don't. One reason most people are offended by gays is because when they hear the world "gay", they almost immediately think "anal sex". They don't think about the emotions involved, they don't realize the bond the two people have created, it doesn't ever cross their minds that, if their own married partner somehow turns to a sex similar to their own, what would they do (which would make us refer back to my thread on Harisu).

Who is anyone to claim that gays violates the way God intends us to be? Who is to claim that YOUR god governs ME? Are you saying that my god is not who i believe he is and that what you believe is true? You see, this is how war begins sometimes.

No one is to claim what rights gay men and women have or not. It disgusts me that after all these trials of Church-and-State, people began arguing that this country was built on the belief of God and that God will judge gay ways to be sinful.

Then you have the idiots that say, "They'll hit on me" (mostly guys). If you are one of those people, think about this:
Do you really think he'll find you attractive enough to hit on you? GET OVER YOURSELF!
Those are also men who can't comment on another man's looks because they're too homophobic. My advice: grow up (mentally, if I must spell it out).

I am pro gay rights. I'm not gay and any sexual activities they do makes me slightly uncomfortable, but I'm proud of them for being comfortable with their sexuality.

I don't know what I believe in because I can't and refuse to be absolute, but I do know that I sure as hell wont be obsessing about it with my precious life time.

I do believe this though:
I am my ultimate judge. No matter what I do, if I truly believed that what I did was right, then God or any other supreme-being has no right to tell me it was wrong. Again, that's if I truly believed that my actions were right, not that I was in denial or lying to myself.

If I were to kill someone out of anger some day and was sent to jail for a long time. Let's use 60 years. When I finally die and a supreme-being told me that it was alright and that I repented, I would tell him no, I havn't, because the act would have been so horribly evil to me, I wouldn't time time in jail was enough. NO ONE would be able to tell me that I've repented and that I should be fine now. If that supreme-being somehow made me feel less guilty, I would be rather angry. No one has the right to take my emotions away.

I am my ultimate judge. I do what I believe is truly righteous.

EDIT

Lonely duck, I wouldn't let modern interpretation help you decide, I would use my inner beliefs.

Also, I've spoken to many religious people and figures and have learned a lot about religions (though mostly Christians). I've had sessions with Mormon missionaries for about six years now; not in search of a religion or belief, but to learn for the sake of philosophy and knowledge. They asked that I pray and that I had nothing to lose. I agreed and truly, with all my heart, prayed one night. A feeling so uncomfortable rushed into my body that I never want to do it again. It wasn't because of fear or the unfamiliar energy surging through my body, it was just uncomfortable and I simply felt that it was bad for me. Perhaps I had a spiritual allergic reaction biggrin.gif
