DEAD, I need advice on how to improve the way my sigs look, such as 'put a x pattern at location x' so all my sigs look better. Otherwise I'll stay on this level until another insight comes through.

Mini: 7.5/10 - Looks boring, too thick border, non-matching text.

Meh good enuff for me, after all it was my first siggy that i made.

Can you help me make it look more interesting?
Make better borders?
And give me some tips on which texts map? tongue.gif

I suck at text, so I avoid using grunge because it forces me to find a grungy font that will look bad in the end anyway. Can't help you with text. 1 pixel borders are good. For my signature, I made a 3 pixel, the inner and outer of the 3 pixels being white and inner being black, and the layer was set to about 70% opacity.

You shouldn't use grunge and tech brushes in the same sig, they make it look worse in most situations, and the render is boring. Don't know how I can help with a render.

Grunges are the only one i know, do you know some sites with other types of siggys?

Chaosgfx.com is a good graphics site, and there are millions like it. Search whatever sig-types you want on those sites.

Pyro: 3/10. Too random color, bad mixing.

You're asking people at a map making site for improvements on sigs? A lot of these people havn't even touched gamerenders or chaosgfx.
6/10
Plain
Needs more in it.

Baka, there is a reason this topic exists. If you don't acknowledge it, then why do you post/look at it?

'Needs more in it' is in no way helpful. When posting in the forum and expecting to help in some way, say WHAT can be added. It's called constructive criticism. Say it with me, constructive criticism.

Or you could not be a jerk and say thanks for the rating what should I do next time when I make a grunge sig. lol smile.gif

I generally get annoyed when a rating is accompanied with an insult and a useless criticism. Good advice for most situations, though.

I was talking to boobs but now I just realized that the sig he had in his quote was Centreri's. Anyways, I'm sorry for calling you a jerk.

That makes me feel like a jerk even though I'm right -.-.
Anyway, latest signature.

I was restricted to pretty much lighten/screen/overlay layer types, because I don't know how to export from C4D with a transparent background. That's why the render can look broken: the darker parts were removed because of layer style. On the upside, it looks more original and I like it tongue.gif.

It looks wicked good! Except for the fact that it look a little squished, maybe make it a bit taller and it would look even more better. 7.5/10!

Really? I like the widescreen effect.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mp)7-7 on 2006-10-18 at 19:31:26
Actually now that you gave me the idea of widescreen I realy like it! Now looking at it for a longer period of time I up my last rating to an 8.5/10, and I really, really like the text affects!

8/10

I like that name effect yawn.gif
How to do!?!?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Pie_Sniper on 2006-10-18 at 20:01:52
I'd assume he made three layers, each with a different text size, then offset them a bit and changed the opacity.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mp)7-7 on 2006-10-19 at 07:16:29
I like the light effects also, where it shines on the topp left and gets almost true dark color in the bottom right where the name is, really works good. I am wondering how you did that, did you set a layer underneath and had it go fro white in the left to black on the right and made the whole image opacity go down or something?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Lithium on 2006-10-19 at 09:30:23
it is similar to what you've said pie. but I think its more 2 layers in different size and the bigger one blurred.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mp)7-7 on 2006-10-19 at 10:38:26
Were you answering my question? Because I dont think that there a two layers for the whole picture. To make it blurred, just a little wider than tall.
