The situation between Lebanon and Isreal is growing to the point where it should be called a full fledged war. Hezbollah (the terrorist group in control of lebanon) isn't going to back down until Israel gives in, and I doubt they will. The British are moving two battleships in, and I think that show of force might cause Syria and Iran to aid Israel. The captured soldiers will be like the death of Archduke Ferdinand, and I already see the entangling alliances coming in to play.

Yes, I have read about this incident. I honestly don't want a world war in my lifetime, but it seems inevitable at the rate we're going. Sadly enough, I don't believe that if we had a world war, it would go quickly. I believe if we do have a war, each side will not stop until every person of the opposing force is killed. I feel though that World War III will eventually come within the next years, possibly this year; and will be the longest World War.

I wouldn't bet on a "World War" just yet... I doubt even Syria would get entangled, the most they're effectively capable are scuds... Israel doesn't have a 'huge' reason to get into Syria, so they'll likely leave that be for the time being... It will likely stay within Lebanon, just with a lot of noise...
