That was a funny cartoon flick...

I agree that the overall increase in intensity and frequency of heat waves is the cause of global waming, but you can't just attribute a specific one to global warming.

Well, I wiki'd your little National Center for Policy Analysis.

I only need to quote one sentence from the entire article: "National Center for Policy Analysis (NCPA) is a non-profit conservative industry funded think tank."

So much for unbiased.

I guess it would make another form of conciousness. Varying how much you erase and edit a person's experience, it might be go unnoticeable to extreamly wierd conciousness. I guess these are ones that make the biggest change to a person.

-Editting or erasing a shocking experience.
-Editting or erasing a moment of love.
-Editting or erasing the feeling of happiness.
-Editting or erasing the feeling of vein-straining hatred and anger.
-Editting or erasing the experience to find out that people love/hate you.
-Erasing the experience of being loved.
-Erasing the experience of having friends.
-Erasing ALL the experience that a person had. ( Logical Result: Completely making that person like an "animal". Basing only on instincts. )

There are a lot more. But I guess this is just an example.

QUOTE(Wilhelm @ Jul 17 2006, 04:16 AM)
My question requires an example. Consider there are two twins. For reasons of hypothetical conjecture, they are two entities that are exactly the same (besides occupying slightly different places in space at all times), and their consciousnesses are exactly the same. Are they still different beings (for occupying different places in space), or do they qualify as one being, as their two thought processes work exactly the same, all their behavior is coordinated as if one being (IE, their movements and actions exactly mirror each other).

The two twins are still different beings. Yes, they move, think (in general aspects), react the same. But are they the same in their subconsciousness ? Their life experience is changed, due to them being unable to exist an the same place in space. Maybe they were standing close to eachother (let's say a meter), and one of them saw one woman, and the other didn't, the one who saw approached her first, began the conversation first, got more attention compared to the other twin. So you have it, they split.

Yes, they could defeat the US on their home soil (especially with the US military spread so thin), but then it would remain a localized conflict and not escalate to a World War.

Yes, I meant that Iran/Syria could not sucessfully invade the US.

Yes it could very well escelate into WWIII, its not just Iran, Syria, and the U.S. Theres many more countries (not naming them) that are in this growing conflict. Many people think that this is WWIII! I agree, its growing very fast!

Care explaining what part of your post I missed?  This increase in CO[sub]2[/sub] in the atmosphere is anything but natural.

I don't know how you missed the quote I made of myself explaining which part,
what I was saying is our problem is the pollution which I said isn't natural, but the problem is not global warming.

If you think about it, we're talking about the same problem and both of the things we're saying is supporting the fact that pollution is the problem and global warming isn't

CO2 + sun = heat (or less heat leaving the earth, rather) = global warming.

I live in cali its like going 105 i dont think summer is the problem

Comical relief: lets drop a giant ice cube in the ocean so it will cool

I wish that would work, but that would just make the ocean cool and the land would be just as hot,
since the wind wouldn't be carrying the cool air around the U.S.

the problem isn't the area being hotter than normal, the problem is the wind not circling the air around causing some ares to be hotter than other areas

and I highly doubt the government would buy a ton of super-high powerred fans to circulate the air tongue.gif

Like I said before, there's almost no proof to back it up since most the proof goes against itself tongue.gif

yes that makes the earth warmer, but it also makes the ozone layer stronger over time, reducing the heat flow to the earth.

just so you realize, a simple volcano does more damage than most the U.S. does, but the ozone layer quickly benifits from it and becomes stronger because of it, so it would probably take alot of damage to cause any significant problems

for those of you saying it will be the destruction of the earth, the entire earth benefits from the heat unlike coldness

the heat will help us, not destroy us.
unless it heats up 30 degrees in less than a month, I doubt global heating will effect us, unlike pollution.

Whew. I like how the North-Midwest is only going to get in the 80's and 90's today. Right now it's 87 degrees and I'm not dying.

And you can't just blame this on it being summer. There hasn't really been anything like this before. This might be the heatwave of the century.
