Should we go out into the Virtually Unknown, Search for another intelligent Life form, or Should we Colonize the very Planets that Surround us. If we could, Should we go out and Explore?
What do you think?

First off all of the bold texts with every posts is kind of annoying!
Second, we have made the world to what it is today, very polluted, filled and we are used to it, so who really cares. I would love to find a life form in space, though very scary because they could be millions of years ahed of us in the tech world and destroy the entire earth with their "hand gun"

if we are used to it, then why do people complain about environmental problems everyday?
We need to master ourselves before we can master others. Or something to that effect.
Get our own problems worked out, first.
I think the underlying point to this is what's up with the psychological schtick? Well, it's just another wonderful example of how humans are stupid, emotional, instinctual beings.
Aliens could show up tomorrow for all any of us know.
There can't be a alien race alot more intelligent than us. Because they haven't found us either. If there was a super intelligent Alien race capable of travelling to different planets you think they would have found ole Earth by now. Its weird to think about really. I'm sure there are other organism's on other planets, I highly dout they are any smarter than us. And I believe that if intelligent life is ever found on another planet the whole Bible could be disproved.
If the Bible is true, then why isn't there any mention of other Races on other planets. and what happens when they die?
If we decided to Terraform Mars. It would take thousands of years. So it won't be happening in our lifetime. However; Living in space colonies isn't such a far off idea. I mean at least we've been there and we can survive out in space with the proper equipment. However; our predecesors hopefully won't be as careless and stupid as humans currently are.

I agree with this, I also doubt we'll even see any in a recognizable form. Think Solaris.

I think we will probably be able to find some extraterestrial life such as bacteria at some point (not in the immediate future). If God doesen't exist, who controlls life on Earth ?

With periodic aid from the world below.

Well I think of it as a way to explore many more untapped resources then what could be found here. (If your a company who can go to jupitor and get hydrogen, or simply collect sun rays on giant solar panels, you'd make a lot of money simply because there's no estate out there that you have to fight over. The fact is, is that if we were to use space as a resource, we'd be much better off then we are now. (Granted better off for most of us = more pollution, so it's a two sided subject.)

That's not going to happen any time soon. Probably our problems will kill us, before we will work them out.

Pfft, you were the one that put massive amounts of spaces between your posts and ended them with exlamation points!
Well, I think humanity's screwed over already. We're already killing each other, and probably in time, nuking the hell outta each other, making us ignore what we have and trying to colonize other planets/explore space.

Strange I never knew you got banned from sen. Even though you tried to fix my trigger problem... and made Futbol.
The only thing that gets in the way of contests for me is school, which doesn't start up until August.
I think we shouldn't do either of them. First off.. at the speeds we travel, getting into another solar system is practically impossible, and secondly... colonizing mars is too expensive. I'd rather teraform(Not sure if that's the right word, referring to making artificial land all over the ocean.) all of the earth

Then what right do we have spreading ourselves around like a disease? If we can't get things figured out at home then chances are it'll be thousands of times harder to figure things out if we're propagating ourselves all over the cosmos. That's assuming we even get ourselves together enough to survive the process of spreading, for that matter.

Hey did you guys saw those pics with israely kids happily writing messages to kids on bombs? Just saw them today, man that's just sick!

It would not take 1000s of years. What do we need to do? Send something to produce massive ammounts of carbon dioxide, we could use ours. That'd warm up the planet and make it even BETTER for plants. Once it's warm enough, probably about 50 years, we massively plant plants. They'll keep the heat in, and convert the CO[sub]2[/sub] to O[sub]2[/sub]. Now we just synthasize some water and... Bravo, it about 100 years we have a terraformed Mars.

People with Downs syndrome maybe?
I've known a few, and non of them ever seemed unhappy. I also know a profoundly mentally retarded man, and he's defianntly always happy. They aren't always lookers but why put them throguh the needless pain just so they can look better. Beauty, something that they might not even understand the concept of.
Your looks forms only a small part of what other people think about you. Will this operation help them get cured ? I doubt that. Maybe only get friends (I repeat - maybe). So why do we clean the face when our ass is dirty ?

because this world is doomed no matter what and we want another one
Of course we do but to do all of this, it'll take a long time as well as many many sacrifices (like resources and money.) By the time we're even close to achieving all of this, it'll probably be too late (especially when taking into account all of the sacrifices made.)
Again, we've got MORE than enough critical problems here on Earth to deal with. Focus our attention on the more important and critical things. Once we are able to clear out all of our problems can we then even think about colonizing other planets.
Its not that simple lmao. It would take enourmous amounts of money to terraform Mars, or any other planet for that matter. However, Venus would probably be terraformed before mars or any other planet. Or maybe possibily the moon would be terraformed before we begin other exploration. I have a feeling humanity will always survive. We've made it this far and we've have gotten to the top of our planet. Humans have a will to survive unlike any other, and were good at it. Our life expectancy goes up every year. Medical advances never stop coming neither does our technoloigal advances.
Just think about when we can actually go to other planets, with the new resources found there we could create anything! The only sad thing about it is it will never happen in our lifetime...
By The Way: There is no way Mars could be terraformed in 100 years. Its atmosphere would have to be completely changed, it has no plate tectonics so theres a major problem. Plus the storms on the planet are horrible. And we still don't even have enough technology or money to Terraform anything yet.
hm do you think that global warming contributed to that fact?
I would never do that! Thats to long to be away from SEN!
Have u ever played strip poker with ur friends? I've been doing a lot of thinking lately, and I have started to get doubts about Christianity. I'm not saying I'm done w/ the religion, but there are so many things that don't make sense. And it's weird how the deeper u get into the religion, the more doubts you have -_-
