So you're telling me control is only something living beings are capable of? Perhaps sentient or purposeful control, but the angle of collision of two asteroids in space would certainly control whether or not the resulting hunk of rock actually hits.

What you're saying is basically that, for a glass hitting the floor to break, you need a sentient being there to control it.

I'm saying that for us to make the next breath, we need to be controlled over. Your next blink of an eye, your next beating of the heart. Everything.

Huh? Yeah, that stuff is controlled. By the brain stem.

People who belive in God and atheists talk on difefrent languages when talking about God.

You will not proove anything to me, just like I won't proove anything to you. We are talking on different languages. For you, the brain controlls your breath, and I don't mind you thinking like that, but for me - God controlls it.

My town near SF hit a record high of 112 degrees today...

I think the intensity of the heat this summer in general can definitely be blamed on global warming.

Global warming has nothing to do with it, it was the jet stream moving north out of the united states.

And without the jet stream, there's no cold wind circulating around the U.S., so there's no cooling.

Actually, bugs and disseases most likely contributed to that fact, not global warming tongue.gif

also, I heard on a news show that just the coal they burn in china emits more CO[sub]2[/sub] than 10 billion high-poluting vans,
so quit blaming it on the cars! tongue.gif

I kind've think this is funny,
you're actually looking for things to be caused by global warming instead of looking at their real causes tongue.gif

And I dont believe that BS about monkeys being related to humans.
Those idiot monkeys cant even compare to us. All they do is go hump whatever moves and eat bananas. The DNA contrast thing is BS and coincidence

Due to the heat wave. The part of where I live in NYC got a black out. After 8 days Con Ed (Our Eletricity Company) still hasnt fixed some parts of Queens NY. There have been many death and there are many elderly people living in Queens. The Red Cross have been giving out free food and water to the people without eletricity. This didnt happen last it. The year before there was a problem in Canada where our power source is located. I dont remember the last time it was this hot. So I do think it was the cause of global warming.

It really doesn't even matter whether you believe in God or not. The only reason people believe in any religion or any deity is because these things offer the possibility of an afterlife. The sense of relief from believing in these things, I'm sure, is tremendous. On a list of the most satisfying things people do during the day, praying was number four*. Little do people know, you don't have to spend a lot of time worshiping to believe in the possibility of an afterlife, and thus give yourself that sense of relief. People have just been convinced from birth that they have to, and thus waste a lot of time doing so. It's all a matter of being at ease about the future.

If anything, I am extremely worried about the possibility of a God. A god is not something you wish to have, it is something you should fear beyond all else. If such a being existed it would be one of the most pure, malicious evil. Perhaps this life on Earth is all that you will have in freedom, and from the moment of your death you will be in the evil clutches of the Lord once more. I cannot imagine how anyone escaped to this plane of existence in the first place, but it would surely be on my list of things to do while anguishing in the eternal torment of the Lord.

I don't believe in God because he offers me afterlife. I belive in him because he tells me what should I do so my conscience doesen't fry my balls. Also I believe in God because he explains things to me.

Yup, that's why the United States emits over 50% more carbon annually than the People's Republic of China.

(Source)

Some people may irrationally blame global warming on things that it doesn't cause, but that doesn't invalidate the fact that it exists.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by TERRAINFIGHTER on 2006-07-25 at 14:58:20
I didn't say we didn't emit more, I simply said that their charcoal alone is worse than a huge ammount of our cars tongue.gif

In other words, cars don't cause much of it, you'd have to go after the companies instead of cars for your theory to work.

I wouldn't go around telling that to people. Even in a religious context, you'd be jailed if you made those statements in public. Someone was going around the place where I work saying things like that, and he was arrested. The customers were extremely frightened and afraid to come to the front of the store. The worst part was when one of the cashiers stood up and started yelling "Praise Jesus!" We now live in a sane, rational world, where such things are not tolerated. There is no respect of faith when it comes to things like what you are saying, the psychologists have already won that battle. You are classified as psychotic, and put on medication.
