I'm sure the world wouldnt end if everyone launched missles at each other. There would probably be some death but the world wouldnt really be affected much other than radioactive storms. If it did happen I would panic. I would try to overcoat where I live with all these things.

Anyways, I can understand why someone would do that but I can't really comprehend. I really haven't known anyone who has died very well so for me death is something to contemplate in the abstract.

When you see a picture like this a lot of people say "Well that's ok if it was a quick death instead of a long, painful one." A lot of people also mention sin but, not being very religious myself, I don't put much weight to that. My main point is that this kind of suicide is the same idea about euthanasia. Just some things to think about.

First off, I looked at the poll results before I posted and can honestly say that I was suprised to see that it was split almost 50-50 between the two choices.

Anyways, I myself do not believe in God in the conventional way (given the choice I voted no). Many people see God as this profoundly mystical being capable of unlimited powers, etc. etc. This is the kind of God that I don't believe in.

First off, I am an objective person and I see no great proof for or against the existence of God. The whole "The eye is too complex to have been created by random chance" argument as well as the "God cannot exist because there is not rational reason for his existence" arguments carry no weight with me. I consider myself open to the idea of God but I refuse to blindly believe until I am contacted by he himself.

I'm reminded of a Simpson's episode called "Homer the Heretic". ONe of the lines from that episode is "And what if we chose the wrong religion Marge? Every Sunday we're just making God madder and madder."

I dislike religion in general not because of the majority of the people but because of the extremists/fundamentalists. These people decide that the best way to convince others to believe in their religion is to militarily force them or believe that it is God's will to destroy all the non-believers (pagan's, heretics, infidels etc.). And for those of you who think I'm just talking about Islamic extremeists....................just remember Timothy McVeigh.

I remember recently reading in the paper that Al-queada recently released a tape calling for all "true Muslims to join us in a holy jihad against the tyrannical West and it's corrupt leader, America." They also hoped that one day "Islam will reach from Iran to Spain."

In our galaxy there are millions of millions of stars. There are also thousands to millions of galaxies both with more and fewer stars than ours. The universe (as far as we can tell) has existed for 14 billion years. Assuming that the chances for life existing is one in a trillion trillion, you've still got several possiblities.

In my opinion the universe is too big and too old for there to have us be the only life. Probability is just completely against you. I believe that at one point there was life other than on earth in the universe. It may not have occurred at the same time, it may not even be around today, but I think it was there.

I think it's just doomsaying that we're going to have a World War. Israel has blown its head before. It conquered parts of Egypt and occupied Lebanon for almost twenty years. To me it's just another violent action that will fuel resentment in future generations.

Second of all, the next World War will be very different from the first two. Other people have said that it will be very long which I agree with. I think that it will follow the same general way the fighting has been going on in Iraq and Afghanistan, it will be guerrilla warfare/asymmetrical warfare.

After reading the 2nd or 3rd one, I realized its bullcrap. You don't need to dial NORAD. NORAD has some of the best radar in the world. Its a FACT that NORAD was alerted to possible hijacked planes. Yet still had only 14 jets in 48 states. Lets see... Andrews Airforce base is less then 30 miles from the Pentagon, and the Pentagon attack happened an hour after the first tower was hit. That gives an hour for the jets to fly 30 miles, which isn't far for a jet. So your telling me, its a coincidence that for the first time in its 50 years of operation, NORAD stood down?

Sounds fishy to me that even one jet couldn't take off from Andrews Airforce Base within an hours time to stop one plane.
