I think every one's maps will be a lot better now with more colors. Aside from the fact that it blows to see all the stuff that the invisible character was supposed to get rid of in the forces of almost every UMS map with overlapping made prior to this wonderful patch, I really like the patch a lot. I'm glad we have the variety of colors and I'm glad you guys are so excited about the not-so-new 3D SC icon.

I think its just a strict mod, but I'll have to ask Corbo.
And if you're making a MemGraft mod you'll need both the exe and the mpq anyway, but if you don't do any tech tree changes than just the mpq will be fine.

Mmm, i guess I can live with no laps and all that fancy stuff

For all of you who care, the Unit Table was messed up with this patch. It's now 0x150 bytes long. I haven't found where it is messed up yet...but most offsets that EUD condidtions would use are wrong.

i went there when people had the problem loading up starcraft with windows 2000...just wondering whats in the patch that makes it incompatible with it...

Why would Blizzard remove a great game that's been nominated for many thing such as the Walk of Game and Game of the Year? They wouldn't do that, that's like disowning your child.
What are they removing that makes map less fun? The force colors and overlapping? Forget the visual aspects of joining the game, they have given us much more to use in-game.
What XGuy said isn't a plus side but a stupid remark and besides most Koreans play melee games something a good lot of you have never heard of... This Blizzard patch is geared more toward the melee side if you really look at it. No more name spoofing, hacks (for now...), and all the exploits you could use to cheat in a good match are gone!

I wouldn't think blizzard would throw away a good game like starcraft...i agree its being geared more on the melee side, but i wouldn't think it'd matter much to mapmaking, it's not completely destroyed, so we just got to make do whatever we have right now. things blizzard do won't please everyone.
anyway though,i'd play and map regardless of the stacking text and map descriptions that look funky. but right now, im more annoyed on the fact the i can't even load starcraft up or even play it since i am using windows 2000 and i guess the patch made it incompatible and hopefully, they'll fix this soon.

Well i don't understand how to use there New colors in game. I see darknight made some, but will Xtra edit be updated or Scm Draft? that would be nice.
