The proper word usage would be, "I am giving up Starcraft." I feel that is a reasonable statement. I do agree though about those that say they are quiting are stupider than a turkey that drowns itself during a rain storm. The only time you can say that you quit is when you have made a commitment to something. Are you married to SC? Did you promise SC that you would work for it? No, so you can't quit.

Some people get addicted to Starcraft like a drug. It hurts their grades, their family relations (parents saying you play too much), etc. Then you need to quit it. But most people who quit drugs start again anyways.

You don't get paid to do it, but it's a perfectly valid statement.
It's like quitting drugs or quitting smoking (not the best comparisons); you don't get paid to do it. Quit isn't a 'I get paid' term only.

Sometimes when people say 'I Quit Starcraft' they usually come back after like a year or so anyways lol. So what is the point in saying I Quit Starcraft...

Yes... don't say "you quit" because you might just find yourself playing Starcraft two days later. And you won't have any online buddies because they all thought you quit. idiots.

I doubt solar was talking about the actual phrases used to express what solar is talking about. I think solar was talking more about the action of leaving sc and making a big deal about leaving, and then moments later coming back for a leisurely game of sc.

I've quit SC 3 times, but usually when I really do quit, I don't announce it, I just disappear for half a year.
