QUOTE
I didn't really mean see everything, I meant everything that you see. It is just too hard to explain and you just wont listen. I will just drop the whole thing after this post. Obviously some people need to bother someone with questions that are right there over and over if they disagree with you.

I am listening rofl but I still don't get what you mean. You just aren't explaining it good enough.

QUOTE
That IS taking it literally, do you think I meant that I have seen everything!? Gosh...

That's not the point, thats as nonliteral as I saw it as, and even so you can't make a comment like that "you have seen everything" it doesn't make sense.

QUOTE
It is obvious that you took most of my post literally, so how would you know?

I am not trying to make an argument here, I am just trying to ask a question, yet you come along and try to convince everyone that what I say is wrong and that this topic has no meaning. You don't seem to get it so clearly so I will post it one last time.

No, it's not obvious because I see no other meaning to it.

And I'm not trying to argue either, I'm just wondering what you are trying to say and questioning it. I see no argument there.

And if you won't bother to try to explain your thoughts further then this topic is pointless.

Wow, I thought you people would take this seriously. This is a note to myself that not even people here can understand questions like this.

Gosh, you should understand what I mean, you yourself and Alpha are the ones making this topic pointless, if you don't like it simply post somewhere else.\

Dont worry jet, there are some people out there who understand you. i know what you are trying to say, we'll see if i can help explain it a little better.

QUOTE(devilesk @ May 30 2005, 04:19 PM)

Well then he's not being clear  closedeyes.gif  It makes no sense, does anyone else know what he's trying to say?

I understand, you just have to read through the lines a little.

QUOTE(devilesk @ May 30 2005, 02:31 PM)

WHY would you be able to see through others? We are all alike, but that doesn't mean we have the ability to read other peoples minds, duh. It's like saying I have a pencil, and my friend has a pencil and I can move my pencil, but why doesn't his pencil move, both are the same thing closedeyes.gif

actually what jet was refereing to isn't that hard to do. there are some common things that people do in which you are basically reading there minds in a way. for instance if you know someone is going somewhere, even over an open field it isn't difficult to figure out the path over which they will travel. now lets say you were to place an object in that path. it wouldnt be a long shot to predict what they are going to think depending on what that object it. this is especially true if you know the person well, but you Dent necisarilly have to.
Once outside of this concert hall me and my friend successfully "read peoples minds" about 95% of the time. ie. by observing their initial course or initial eye movements we were successfully able to predict exactly where they were going and what they would do once they got there. so "reading peoples minds" really isn't that difficult. it's the same with rock paper scissors. try and find someone who is talented at playing that game. let me tell you, it isnt all luck when playen that game.

ps: i hope this helped explain your point more, if not i'm sorry. also, i'm not too good at explaining things online, i'm a better talker in real life.

That's just being intuitive, but its not based on actually experiencing their actual thoughts or what they see.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Rhiom on 2005-06-14 at 18:59:51
but by knowing what they are thinking coulndt it be argued that you are experiencing it to?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MapUnprotector on 2005-06-14 at 19:11:40
Not through their eyes. And you don't know FOR SURE what they are thinking, you are really just guessing.

There is not extra sense that enables you to be perceptive and have empathy or whatever. It's just a coming to good conclusions. And even if you did KNOW what they were thinking, doesn't mean you can manipulate it with your mind or use that as an extra sense.

You have a point there. People have the ability to read minds (It is just taking every common thing, and guessing what they will do next)

It also isn't very hard to know what people are thinking. All you have to do is pay attention to their body language, and the looks on their face. I do it all the time.

If you don't understand and probably never will, don't keep flaming the idea.

It's not flaming, go away you don't even know what's going on. And I don't not like the question, I'm just trying to discuss it.

its persons nature of untrustworthyness. "see it to believe it"
For example, mongolians dont believe oceans exist.

what you talken about? me and devilesk are just discussing, we aren't flamen anyone.

As for the not seeing it from their perpective, i'm usually pretty good at judging people based on tone, words, and body langage that most of the time i can predict what a person is thinking even more so then just common ever day things. this really only applies to real life conversations unfortunately, but it still usefull for gaining insight to their percpective. Also if you start to understand someones percepective it can get you thinking aboout why they think that way, and what they've expeirenced to give them that perception. if you understand that you can perdict how you would feel if you your self had been there. this can give you a second perpective on life if not only by the fact that you can gain empathy for others by focusing in this way.

You certainly seem as if this discussion is a precious object that is yours to keep and not anyone else's. He does have a point there though, if you don't like how I make no sense at all and yet many other people understand, then you don't have to post, I didn't make this to have another mindless argument, I meant to have a discussion, I also wanted an answer to my question, not some mindless question someone else made up. All hopes of that is lost thanks to devilesk so I guess I'll have to take my questions somewhere else.

I was just trying to make sense of it for myself by asking questions because I don't see what you were trying to say. It's not that I don't like your questions.

I don't see how you can conclude that.

wow, harsh. I dont think that this dicussion was ruined by devilesk, i think he had some valid points that he brought up, plus i believe he was just trying to understand what you werew tryng to say.

Also, i dont feel that we werent answering your question, i think that we went off on a tangent yes, but a tangent still relavent enough to discuss your question. maybe we needed to explore this tangent further to help us understand the answer better, but if yu dont have the patience to wait for all avenues of thought be explored then you will never get a complete, truthful, and thoughtful answer to anything. so if you want an answer to a hard question u need patience.
