That's not the point. People can figure out how this is done. I already believe I know how it was done. It won't be too long before people make their own versions of the hack. it's not whether it will be leaked or not. people know how this si done, and people will figure it out. That's one of the reasons why this is becomeing such widepread information in other communities; it could spread very easily, and it most likely will.

However, there is the possbility that it will not spread widely. I never saw any threads about trying to get people off Battl.net when name spoofing came out, or map hacks. The only problem with this is that it impacts the game a lot more then a map hack.

Interesting discovery Deathknight, I worship your mad programming skills, people should stop trying to pin him as an evil player who is trying to kill Battle.net, I hope this doesn't spread although it likely will, at least to some extent. All we can do is hope Blizzard fixes this or that the general populace of malicious StarCraft hackers can't figure out what the hell happened to do this.

You can't blame plane crashes on Issac Newton because he discovered gravity. We'll see how things play out in the next few weeks.

its not deathknights fault guys, its all the people who decide to use it afterwards. anybody else could have figured it out, not just deathknight. and its just a game, not a real life crisis. if somebody uses the what ever it is in a game then just leave the game and save the replay and send it to blizzard.

im not trying to rag on deathknight for the replay and hack but im saying this is ultimately his fault and i dont get why people are making him out to be such a pity case..

Nin, he is exactly right(ZPD). You are portraying DK as some malicious asshole. When in reality he just explores things that go a little deeper. Hence is site "Glitch Factor".

It is a comparison, which is why it's not accurate. Who blames Issac Newton for plane crashes? No one!, yet he discovered what causes them. That doesn't mean he is to blame. Accounts doing this repetatively will be banned. Blizzard may or may not take further action such as making a patch. The moral is don't target Deathknight for this, it's stupid and gains you nothing trying to demoralise him for this.

It'll be better if I say this now: If anyone posts the smallest hint of how to do this, they will be suspended and there is a possibility on getting banned.

Those 8 people that supposedly know how to do this hack. I don't trust all of them. Why do I say this? Because one of them told 2 others without DK's knowing.

The other day I was in a game with DK and a couple of other people. DK was showing me the "hack" and then several other people started doing it as well. DK said: "How did you figure did out?" One of them replied: "This person told me".

yes kingra thats what im doing.. so what? is it as bad as revealing a hack to the public on bnet instead of private or lan games? i find it funny that even though people are against this hack they still want to have it. So i created a game and yes people did join looking for the hack so i said " YOU" and banned them. i dont see what the problem is here. You should have seen the topics when Yoshi left in October, . People are natueally interested because this could screw up many melee games; and also UMS maps. Any UMS map could be screwed up if people build to units they aren't suppose to have. I wonder if disabling units for those players would help.

Anyways, this is unfortunate but it isn't the end of the world, or of StarCraft. Blizzard is probbably reading topics like this and thinking "Oh crap, not another bloody StarCraft issue!" But whether Blizzard does anything or not, it will not matter in the long run. How many of the people here will leave StarCraft on Battle.net if they see these kinds of occurences starting to happen a little more frequently? I know I'm not leaving for something as controversial as that.

Yes, that's a good one. But were the creators of it trying to ruin the world? The atomic bomb was researched into because of the possbility of making bombs that could decimate cities. In World War 2, that was a serious possibilty to try to stop Germany from taking over, or Germany creating them first. But overall, the scientists in the project weren't cruel hearted trying to ruin everything. Neither was Deathknight.

Its eventually going to get out. Yes, I will do everything I can to make sure that it never reaches here. It isn't classified as a harmless glitch (such as float a drone, crush a tank, etc), and no, I never did or never will approve of 3rd party software to gain unfair advantages in gameplay.

My stance is, its bad, but the community shouldn't be so harsh on deathknight. He may have screwed up, but he may have been just trying it, etc. I don't know the exact details on this, it could very well be a glitch.

As for the discussion on the Licence agreement, Xtra Editor, SCMdraft, Starforge, BWscanner, Proedit, modding tools, and all those those things we take for granted in the community, can be considered a breach of that Licence agreement we all accepted. However, our intentions with it are not to ruin the game or unbalence it, but more to have fun as a whole. You don't see people disagreeing with these programs, because we all know they are generally harmless.

neways i dont care as long as i can resume playing the occasional melee without fearing hacks im fine and im sure blizzard will address this issue soon
