So, how'd you do that then? I mean, where was the data at?

EDIT - Never mind, figured it out. Tricky, real tricky.

Lol I kept thinking I messed up but it was because I got different values from your calculator but then I realized that if I entered an extra space at the end of the memory offset, it would calculate it wrong. Thanks DTBK, I got it biggrin.gif

Who the hell needs to use 255 locations when you can resize them and use grids?

Does this allow you to resize locations too? How so? and is thar really usefull when were still restricted to rectangles.

SEN may be cutting edge, but I still don't see many good maps coming out tongue.gif Especially ones that use any new concepts that have been discovered. Not these specifically, but all the older stuff too.

It has always taken a long time for new concepts to become popular practise in maps. Think back to the days of Cloaking Bunkers and Lights Off.

There pretty much has to be a map specificlly highlighting the finding that gets wildly popular.

now that will be an awsome idea to make the locations into circles and rectangles

My hex.todec() function counts the space as a digit so when it converts from hex to decimal, each conversion is off by an order of magnitude.

i got an idea tongue.gif anyways, don't show anyof this to the public, Bnet will never know! but anyways this is really cool, if you combine the marine with hydralisk shooting it looks like the real shooting of a marine just with "green" bullets.

with this new technology stuff you can create marine defenses (but they will really be sunkens!) how cool huh. and i found some really cool unit speaches that i have never ever heard before. but they will disconnect you.

I don't know if anyone's found this out, but in the "simple way of detecting hp" map, when the academy gets to low HP and then a message is displayed "SLOW MOTION" (or something like that), if you hold down the "+/=" button (left of backspace), it will bring game speed eventually after 2-3 seconds to fastest. After, the academy's HP keeps going UP, and the unit-wireframe colors keep changing crazily.

Still not possible.

You can edit the two values that locations have (start and end), go ahead, but SC will still render them as rectangles (because there are only two values).

Why won't people understand that?

Thanks to DeathKnight for helping me so much with the format and trigger offsets and for just saying, "You can do it!"
Thanks to MindArchon for providing the source code for Trigger Viewer so I wouldn't have to spend countless hours making a code to parse the triggers.
Thanks to DT_Battlekruser for explaining the formula to find the player number and unit ID and everything.

Presenting Trigger Manager as an addon to uBeR@TiOn!
We don't know when it will finish but we hope soon!

Perhaps you should releaseas a completely different program and Uberation. Perhaps Uber edit, or better yet, a profressional sounding name like Trigger Manager
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MapUnprotector on 2005-07-28 at 23:14:18
What does this "trigger manager" do?

Oh wow, an editor for extended triggers, nice smile.gif

After all the research has been done, make sure you put in detecting HP.

hi

is it possible to change the pallete in game?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by HeRtZ on 2005-07-29 at 02:18:26
lol kow tongue.gif. Simple, DK was just having fun and accidently make a death count for a unit and he created.....something so valuable, its like messing with nature. Look at KFC's chicken's there all deformed! This is just the beginning on what we can do with map making.

Yes. Imgaes.dat, pallete type and pallete special. Don't change them to random values though. You need to know what your doing.

DK: *Crahses* EUREKA!!!!

But how do these triggers happen? Is it a specific death count to do a specific thing? Is someone makeing an interface for this (LW)?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by ZPD on 2005-07-29 at 20:39:55
Bloody brilliant. I had once thought it would be interested if people wrote their opwn triggers by understanding the code, but I never really thought about it much. This is incredible, the fact that this is happening, that you guys understand StarCraft well enough to do this.

However, I do feel Blizzard will notice, I do wonder if they will care or not, I suppose it won't matter much as long as you don't make triggers workable in melee games, tongue.gif.

I wonder how this will work with patches and with StarEdit, StarEdit mods, and other mapping programs capable of creating triggers. Would they have to be updated to prevent crashes? Would they just ignore the extra triggers and leave them be or erase them? Would they be part of a different section of StarCraft map files so as to not cause any compatibility issues?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MapUnprotector on 2005-07-29 at 20:47:10
It's all using death triggers so it doesn't really crash editors I think. It's more of like how you would see the _ line if you try to use p12 triggers in Staredit.

can someone make an editor for this?

Hold on, what editor DID Ðk use to make his demonstration maps? I'm getting the impression of using Starforge but it looks like that it would crash when you attempted these new stuff... confused.gif

By the way, how do you get hex editors to work with Starcraft maps? Just use "Open with..."?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DT_Battlekruser on 2005-07-30 at 00:43:31
-You have to open the CHK with the hex editor.

-DKs first test map in the TRIGGERS OF GOD thred was done by hexxing. The rest, I think, were done in SF.

-MemCalc has been updated. Current version: 2.1.1
