Kellimus, I did not know that smoking didn't harm people's lives. I did not know that smoking made people depressed and reliant on cigarettes. I did not know that smoking has no consquences of use besides money. I did not know that cigarettes are easier to obtain then illegial drugs. I did not know that smoking can cause cancer. I don't know why people smoke, it's not since of peer pressure or a stress killer for a short time. I can't imagine why people's lifes could be ruined when they are dead from cancer or anything other disease that could possibly not orignate from smoking. Oh wait, smoking does ruin people's lives.

Not only does smoking ruin the peron's life who is using it, it can also affect many others who are forced to live with that person and breathe in second hand smoke. I believe that a drug that does "less" damage to your body, yet is much more widespread, can do more harm than one that is more dangerous yet is less widespread.

I have never tried, and I don't plan on starting. I mean not to.

From the horrid statistics concerning its health effects, to the thousands of dollars spent annually to purchase these dirty little rolled up pieces of paper, to how awful it is for everyone around, I don't see how anyone would want to smoke. The U.S. was going to fine cigarette companies $100 billion, but Bush happily reduced that to a nice little fine of around $14 billion. The larger fine would have effectively crippled the industry.

I think that the only way to keep smoking legal is if the cigarette companies found a way to stop second hand smoke, so that no one would be putting others in danger. At least most public places have a strict no-smoking policy. It makes the atmosphere so much more pleasant. Even though I really, really don't agree with smoking, I'm not going to preach about it.

Yeah, smoking definately ruins people's lives, not including their own. My grandmother, now a widow, has black lungs because of second hand smoke. She had never smoked in her life.

Fatasses aren't worse than smokers. They just kill themselves (unless they crush someone else roffle). Pollution is completely different because people have been fighting it since the 60's and there's still pollution. We have only begun to fight smoking within the last decade. Pollution is 1000 times harder to stop. All you have to do is stop buying ciggerettes and have a strong will to quite smoking. To quite polluting you have to go way out of your way to help reduce emmesions by very little.

Are we talking about Tobacco, or Illicit Drugs?
