Ownage Terrain; Good Storyline; Does need more spells; Towns are okay; Where did you get symetrical terrain from?; Real-Time Combat battle system, with spawn locations; Items already listed; I don't know how long the DL length will be when finished I've always wanted to see an rpg, that you can make items, like make potions, and you need certain herbs to make certain potions. Ok, terrain is around 20%+ Done, game will probably lag or crash with 6-8 human players with this type of byte-stress on terrain, nook n' cranies is far from close thx to my byte conservation tile act of 2005, lol.
Triggers are not getting done, hynk makes 0 progress, bonelesskid is gonna help jumpstart triggers and when im done with terrain, I will finish whatever triggers are not finished for the basic systems, venders, and spawns.
Demo will be out in 1-2 weeks from this post, It will be a 30 minute limited gameplay demo. Which will be around 30% done, map wize.
I am going to rename the RPG, and all three characters, including making all 3 randomly start at key villages. There will be around 12-18 small starting villages, which is about 75% of all towns/citys in the map. But the others are far bigger, these villages have only 1 vendertype building. Inn, or upgrade, or shrine, potion shop, tent shop, any of those... including mercinary buy.
Future Systems :
1) Random Objects, This will consist of around 100-200 spots on the map, which will be randomly spawning ether pots, tents, revive potions, tressure chests, and event/secret collectable items.
2) Mercinary Shops, I will be having around 5-15 different mercinarys, some being the same unit, but able to do different things because of their cost/buying location or area.
3) Events, In addition to storyline, and creative gameplay ideas unique to this RPG, I will be adding such obsticles found in AEON of Strife "Large War" battle scenes, Defense building events to stop an evading horde, and Bound obsticles to add more of an adventurous, risky side to the RPG. Bound obsticles will not be hard, just dangerous, possably loss of gold, life, and items.
4) Bosses, I will use almost every creature in the game multipul times as different monsters using arrangments with tails, living buildings, tissue layers, and artificial HP counters. The bosses, including semibosses, minibosses, mainbosses, and eliteunits randomly found on the map, will host spectacular battles that take time, inginuity, and the ability to use your storyline help to your advantage. Hidden boss battles will be frequent and not always found each time you play the map.
Terrain Modifications :
1) Changes, I have redon most ramps and blends for a more smooth game scenery in the southeastern areas stretching to southmiddle.
2) Canyon/Forest/City, In addition to basic landscaping with open-feel walking, I will include mazes of Canyons with over 3 levels of realistic rocky terrain, and forests that will leave you puzzeled as to where you are going to end up. Terrain will weave in and out and exit/enter to large areas of open-feel walking terrain with villages and castles, which will also be found in forests and canyon areas but stay true to the landscape's feel of desolation and adventure.
3) Overblend, Work on blending some previously blended, but failed parts in the map will begin in 3 days, of which will better strengthen the appearence to veteran map makers, critques, and other true RPG gamers.
I thought 'rush' was supposed to tbe the best rpg on b.net

Basically, what WoodenFire is saying is... I have quit production of this map, Bonelesskid will be taking my position in this production. I will be aiding them with the storyline. I will no long be updating on this topic. Keep an eye on WoodenFire for future updates. You may rename the RPG and all three characters as you wish. Just remember that ONE of the characters MUST be female and the others MUST be male. If not then it may ruin the story of this RPG. Unless you want to change that too. hynk sorry I have not commented on your map due to my current situation but thats all over now. Anyways this is the best i've seen you perform on for any map that you have made, and so far it looks really great! Keep it up man and you can get this done, which I know you so you will get it done.

Çrescent Ðyne is the new name for the RPG, and the character names will be Korzic, Izulian, and Claralyn. Character names thanks to a 3 hour brainstorm with FF]Ericka. These will relace Depression RPG, and the other names Hynk started with.
Map Progress Update :
I have moved percentage of terrain done up to 27%, and when I finish touchups,reblends, and overblends, It will approach the 30-33% marker. I have enough terrain to fill a 128x196 RPG map. So I belive my hard work will end up rewarding in the end.

I have made heroes random, but all 3 will be used, no repeats, and all starting at random small villages. The intros will be short and powerful, with visual dialoges and action sequences.
I cannot see the screenshots....
I am hoping for feedback... any ideas for minigames ect... that would benefit from terrain modifications?
I will reopen this thread in 1 week as Crescent Dyne for the last week of production.

minigames eh, well this RPG takes place after a war if i remember correctly, maybe some sort of minigame where u go around helping wounded ppl, or if u want a smaller minigame, heres a few:
-cow herding: get the cows bak into the fenced area
-hunting: kill some wild animals for points
-battle stadium: battle any enemy youve alrdy faced, but not for experience
-pets: raise a pet ranging from a cat to a bear, it can hel;p in battle or minigames
-hide and go seek: need i say more

Heres a few ideas
- Yunno how AI, when u tell it to move, it takes the lowest terrain? Well a minigame could be theres an invincible enemy movin through a bunch of high and low terrain (just square from pallete, not regular). You haveto stop it from goin on the low terrain which it wants to go with like 5 units or somethin.
- And another fun minigame would be like kill an enemy base but dont kill the civilians

Minigame: Fishing, the bigger the fish the more you can sll them for.
Future Systems :
Fishing - A profession, for HP rejuvination, or profit. This will be a system that requires a fishing pole, and bait. Each time you catch a fish, it will increase your professional experence level, increasing in chance to catch a fish the more you fish. The bait will be sold in packs, anywhere between 5 to 500. More, of cource, for reduced money :D. Fish will be used instead of Tents at Camp Area's (disabled glowing beacons in caves/ mazes far from civilization) and sold to Fish Merchants.
Hunting - A profession, for HP rejuvination, or profit. This will be forced attacks of animals. The system works the same as fishing with few changes. Hunting can be done with your own weapons and sold to Meat Merchants.
Mining - A profession, used in smithing. This system uses exp to increase chances to find minerals and ore. Ore must be stripped of dirt and rocks to reveal the internal minerals, which will come at a price. The minerals can be metals, or gold, which is used as your currency. A pic axe is required, and more advanced axes may be purchased.
Smithing - A profession, for profit. Using exp for higher success. This uses minerals found from mining to build armors and other pieces of battle equipment to Army Recruiters, Government Organizers, and other locations that might be looking for some increased security, and other militaristic purposes. Hammer must be used to make this equipment, and must be made at Anvils.
Farming - A profession, for profit. Buy seeds to plant corn, tomatoes, or other food products that is a good way to make food for rainy days. Food can be sold and eaton. This process can take up to a month to grow without proper farming exp. Watering plants must be attended to as recogmended.
Note : All of these systems use items and are more effective at making money in the long run. If you work on a profession, you might not get rich, but it might be enough to help you fight a higher level enemy once you upgrade your character.
Camp Requirments For Heal
Crop : 75
Hunting : 25
Fish : 5
Tent : 1
(These will be used in the order you have ready. Starting with Crops if you have 75, and ending with Tents which use 1 per heal)
Summoning System Alteration :
I have had the problem of unit size vs. terrain torture me for the last few days. I think I know exactly how to change this. A summon, which is cast 1 at a time, or multipul different units, when not near your hero (If you don't highlight hero + summon to move at once), will turn into an Orb, or a sort of Cast Save type device. Once you engage in combat and the Orb is back near you, they will respawn at your side. This will add a unique twist to gameplay while allowing for optimal hero movement over my fully custom terrain.
(All items here are subject to change, and final decisionals will be posted in new thread at the end of the week)

just wat i was thinking, my only comment on this is, how will you do this, its not like ull b abl to display hunting, fishing, etc, as a leaderboard, theres not enuf, plus, u must really be usin units for more then 1 thing, well need any help, im open, im done Stranded RPG anyway so im open for help
I was thinking of having alot of those aspects of runescape, so im thinking of removing exp gain from more occupational systems. This would make it more simple for the player...

well, if ur taking out exp gain, ud hav to keep track of there skill somehow, how could that be done, this is turning out to be a huge project, complicated too
maybe, just maybe, use deaths of a unit whos deaths dont matter, like xtra power-ups, so u can still use them for other stuff klike seeds, etc. but the deaths are used for the different skillz

Hye man sounds cool. Should be awsome if its "the best rpg to come" (qpirates rpgs are awsome) Just dont get discouraged if any trigger goes wrong. Thats how most people give up on maps. especialy a map as big and detailed as this one. I cant see screen shots...
