While I agree with those that think Yoshi's departure is too sudden, I applaude BSTRhino for pointing out one postive aspect.

Starcraft doesn't need UMS to keep itself alive. The arrogance of people on this site astounds me. You people think this site, with, (and this is a high estimate), maybe 500 regularly active members is the shining hope and light of Starcraft. Seriously, what the hell is wrong with you people? If this site dies, then it's really just a clump of dirt in the wind.

The first step to recovery would be to bring back Dark_lunatic_K. He still makes maps, and acctually finishes them. I know him on USEast and he has been making maps non-stop. Why was he banned in the first place?

I don't think SEN will ever die it has been around for far to long is to well known. Even i do not like all the ppl leaving mainly Yoshi, but things happen. We just have to keep going, though whatever come our way!

First off, with devilesk's comment.
Why announce his departure.
Maybe he wanted to get off of SC and B.net for good, maybe because they are addictive, and having people nagging at him to not quit would just be annoying to him expecially with all the things he's had to go through such as tolerating the channel's spammers (you know who you are) and other things.
The bottom line is Yoshi is away, hopfully a new "Yoshi" will emerge, that would be cool.

SEN and Starcraft are not dead, and I believe due to constant replacing of members, it'll take a really long time for it to die, unless everybody on battle.net just quit at the same time. I'll probably be playing FFXI (server Fairy for those who care) and then, once I get to level 75, I'll get bored and go back to starcraft, probably to find many of my old friends playing again. I consider Starcraft a cycle, and I wouldn't be too surprised if Yoshi came back.

How would he, i mean i hope he does but how would he expect to be welcome i mean i would welcome him back but not saying anything for his reasons for leaving. Thats is bound to have pissed alot of people off.

If SEN and Starcraft can stick around for another, say, 3 years, when Starcraft 2 comes out( says so on blizzforums ) then it will be more popular than ever... but... god i hope its not 3d. that will SUCK

Once again, SEN is only maybe 500 activate people. There are MILLIONS of people playing Starcraft, and this puny site isn't "keeping it alive". Melee is what keeps Starcraft going, and it's been around for 7? years, this site has only been around for about two. It ought to be obvious to anyone with a brain that if this site dies, Starcraft is still gonna be going strong for maybe 15+ more years. I mean, look at games like Tetris and Pac-Man, one classic game that requires no improvement, no sequel.

SEN doesn't even have 300 people that visit the site regularly. However, SEN will finally die when IP gets fed up paying the outrageous bills.

I thought Yoshi out of all people would say something before leaving o well i suppose everyone gonna head out sooner or later hopefully and Willhelm does have a point Map Making is a factor in Sc, but Melee is the engine that drives BroodWar to its popularity. A Game like Sc with just UmS wouldnt of lasted as long as it will also Good luck with your Lives and whatever may come your way to the people who left Even though i Didnt know you i suppose your still going to be missed.
