Staredit Network -> Website Feedback, Bugs & Discussion -> Pming when taking away minerals?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Centreri on 2005-11-09 at 15:03:55
I respect the second reason, but not so much the first one tongue.gif
I cant argue with that, though..
But still, you should at leaast ASK the other moderators to pm when warning.
Oh, and do you have contact with Yoshi? He's gone from SEN, but I still think he would have left you his AIM number or something.

If you dont feel like turning on the warn system thing, why dont you be like Bolt and PM a person when doing anything to them?

There should be a vote to decide if the Warning system comes back on (if you find the option)
I've been losing like 5 minerals every day for about 2 weeks now and haven't been pmed or sent any type of log...Its really annoying disgust.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Merrell on 2005-11-09 at 21:55:51
I'm 100% positive that they wouldn't fine you 5 minerals. You could have been double posting or deleting your own postsl. Doing those actions will remove some minerals.

There is no log on you KABOOM.

QUOTE(Merrell @ Nov 8 2005, 06:18 PM)

On my first warn about 2 months ago (I really didn't deserve it, it was when telling toa5555 to stop making stupid topics) Bolt PMed me about it... I wish it would go off, I think toa deserved a warn more then any body who posted in that topic (everyone who posted got warned)

In that specific case I was trying to set an example for the community. People were insulting others constantly while avoiding the specific words and direct threats that would leave them with a warning. newer members like Toa555 would enter the community and for whatever reason starts getting obvious hints of dislike and insults. Although the meaning may not be directly said the point is clear. Most of the new members would ether respond the same way or more harshly unaware of the warning system. Essentually the community creates the evil that we so passionately dislike.

I actually expected to get a debate thread or some kind of public action arguing my choice to warn those people. I wish there was one but it didn't happen. In witch case of the public repulse, members would hopefully understand that the implied insults are not allowed ither and it would act as a global warning to the community. And the threat would seem alot more real when several members had received warnings.

In order to get your facts strait I didn't warn everyone who replied. I looked at the thread and warned every negative response posted, something like 18 members (I forget). A response like "This thread is stupid why did you post this?" I handed it a warning for. It is completely unnecessary when 10 people say the same thing then form a discussion on how dumb the thread is. And it was this pattern and general bashing that I wanted to stop.

I'm sorry that you were warned but I am not sorry that I did it. It's like in movies where the bad guy kills the person who betrays him. "let it be known that anyone who double crosses me will not live". Maybe it wasn't the best method to attempt a change but others didn't seem to be working.

PS. Yeah i'm kinda still around, mostly not though. Oh yeah yeah 2555th Post

Okay, I turned it on. Those who protest with no good arguement are getting their heads blown off, though.

Finally, thank you for allowing us to see our own warn levels again...

Mine doesn't seem to work.

Can we see our warn log?

The warn level is good, but it still doesn't solve the problem of not knowing why we were fined.
Good to know my warn is 0% though tongue.gif
Um.. and if we can see our warn log, where do we find it?
I couldn't find it in 'My Assistant' or 'Control Panel'

If you are unable to use this feature, please log out and log back in. That will make everything okie-dokie. If that doesn't work, I don't know what it is.

The error returned was:

Sorry, but you do not have permission to use this feature. If you are not logged in, you may do so using the form below if available.

...Logged off and logged in and still doesn't work.

If you are not doing this...

You are supposed to click on your warn percentage NOT on the warn bar. Clicking on the warn bar is for moderators.

Oh..
Ok.
Thank you biggrin.gif.
I take it it didnt record previous warns, but it will start now? Because mine is empty, and I'm sure I lost minerals a few times.

No, all warns you've ever gotten are in there.

Awesome.

Then I'd like to be the first one to "complain" one of my warnigns is "Bypass Swearing Filter" what I said was "sh!t" I remeber this because I PMed yoshi about it and he never responded. I saw yoshi say sh!t all the time, along with other people doing it (This is back when it was censored of course) so I did it. I'm thinking Yoshi thought it was an i and I used some kind of speical alt + ( ) ( ) ( ) ( ) sequence. Which I didn't so can I have my warning lowered? Also when do warnings go back down, if I did something wrong a year ago am I going to be haunted about it for the rest of my membership at sen?

Don't get warned again and nobody will care about such long outstanding warns.

On the inital subject of the topic (becuase I really don't want to read four pages of posts that don't really matter), minerals are not worth a PM. Seriously, what are you going to use them for? Your "glowy name"? Pfft, please.

You lost two point seven minerals. Cry me a river.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Ultimo on 2005-11-13 at 16:36:45
It's the principle of the matter that is the problem, not the actual minerals itself. wink.gif It's like the bank taking money out of your bank account without telling you. biggrin.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by RexyRex on 2005-11-13 at 16:39:55
Yeah, but that's assuming the money in the bank can only buy you toys from kid meals.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Ultimo on 2005-11-13 at 16:59:24
Which are still worth something, are they not? tongue.gif
