If the life is cut off fromt he rest of the world for a short time that doesn't destroy the world. I define the end of the world as hat happened to Alderaan. COmplete and utter destruction, when the moon is alone I'll consider it the Apocolypse. After a nuclear winter life could reform.

Are you talking about KOTOR and when TARIS was bombarded? But anyway, Sicarul is right. Nukes are a lot stronger and more powerful since Hiroshima and the US nuke stockpile continues to grow everyday... I dont know why... And then the US tells North Korea not to make WMDs when the US does it everyday... But eventually... countries wont take people hostage and kill them... they'll NUKE them. I dont even know why nukes are even made... they kill so many people and damage the wildlife and civilization then comes radiation... Itll be like in the End of Ze World flash comic... every country will fire nukes at different countries and California will float away towards Hawaii... then Alaska will break off from Canada and go towards Hawaii and California... ZE END!

Nukes if all set off could destroy all life on this planet. Cockroaches wouldn't live if EVERY nuke was set off. Yes if a few were they would... Light would be blocked, your electric bill would double since your running the lights during the day too. Radiation would pwn humans. BTW, If the earth was ever destroyed like alderaan, there would be no moon to be left alone. Same if the moon were to be destroyed, earth would probably go with it.
