Ok wow lots to read. I'm curious is in many sagas in one map? Has their been a prievous maps or you doing many at a time. For what i read it seems very interestiing and good luck. I'm interested in the outcome of gameplay.

I haven't tried this yet, but from what you said, this idea has been long taken by so many before you. You did not create this battle system.

certain aspects of the battle system are from other people, yes. but the final outcome its very different. think of it as taking many different pieces of a puzzle and putting them together to form a very different picture

Focus Mode [Battle System]
-Ok here are the basics of the battle system. Whenever you enter a battle, you will trigger Focus Mode. When in Focus mode, a timer will appear at the top of the screen. That is how long you get to attack the enemy until they disable our focus power. Then you will than have to avoid their attacks until you gain yuor focus power back which should take the same amount of time it did when we used it (20 seconds). Think Faith and Destiny ish except an in game menu system!

Now thats the VERY basics of the battle system. You will use a shuttle at the top left of the map to use spells. You have two sets of spells, offensive spells and defensive spells respectively. You use the offensive spells in the attack phase to damage the enemy and than you use the defense spells to confuse the enemy to to protect yourself when it's the enemies's phase.

The other four slots in the shuttle ill be used for items that you find in treasure chests or buy at stores through the world. The first two potions are obvious; the HP potions heals you and the MP potions restores your mana (the potions are shared by the way).

Now the other two are different. They are time potions. In the beginning, their power is very weak. One potion I'll subtract 20 seconds from the phase timer while another will add time to the timer. Sound simple right? Well here's the big thing. Later in the saga on the 2nd map going into the 3rd map they meet a group of people who control time. You can then use these potions to change the flow of gameplay.

Another thing to be mentioned is you will always have NPC allies with you. You can give them commands and stuff and they also have their own spells as do the enemies.

There's more to come and some of this is in the below demo so try it out!

As your main tester Inferno, I promised goodness, and I will deliver my findings to you right now.

Glitches:

1. Lurkers unburrowed at certain times and it freaked up my Earthquake spell (might be unfixable)

2. "One Last Thing", said by General K, was cut off. It showed like this "One L"

That's all the glitches I found.

Improvements For Battle System:

1. TAKE OUT THE RANDOM BATTLES! Have the good old collision and fight system, random battles pissed the crap out of us.

Everything else worked fine and great battle system, me and my clan's testers loved it. We also found the music quality really great and didn't take long to Download this awesome map. One question though, did you redo this map from scratch? I remember the gateway was at buttom right before... blink.gif

ok let me answer each of these details.

1. Yeah i just realized that ill fix it.

2. same as above

as for the random battle...well i don't have any. ill explain why it seemed that way. there are a bit too many enemies but they do wander. as for the instances where it "appears" there are no enemies nearby, you step on a burrowed unit so techincally i don't have random battles...but i will change this somehow thanks
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Zee on 2006-06-09 at 18:11:39
hm...yea i noticed those glitches also. i also encountered a glitch where the intro skipped even though i picked the option to watch it disgust.gif add that to your "to fix" list tongue.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Ice_Inferno_X3 on 2006-06-09 at 18:17:52
ok i have a temporary fix to one of the three issues you mentioned DLK. i fixed the two glitches and reuploaded the file....and i reduced the number of units and also removed 90% of burrowed units so it will no longer appear to be random battles now biggrin.gif

im gonna spend the next few hours working on it tons. oh and by the way, this map is different from the one your referring to DLK. so yes its completely different. the one you played it is episode 2 affliction tongue.gif

Inferno, there's no need for a tester's list. I'm on here on demand, and my clan is filled with over 20 testers hungry for testing. Whenever you need testing done, just send the map to me through PM. Love ya lots, peace. smile.gif
