SEN can't save the world, just like America.

The more I read about this, the less I like it. Combining all the sites into one large generic modding and mapping site? Wtf? mellow.gif

I'm the type of person who likes to see a site dedicated to SC and a site dedicated to WC seperated, not one site that has sub-categories for SC, WC and HL2.

Do remember that other administrators are paying for their sites as well. Chances are that this new site would be paid in conjunction of all the people who pay.
These small, not so active as SeN, sites could bring in much more members and content than you think. They are all experts in fields that SeN truly isn't as competitive or that SeN just doesn't have.

then there just the missing links that we need.

I'd call them the missing links we don't need.

My biggest concerns are about the continuing hierarchy and understood social structure. We here understand eachother, and to triple or quadruple in size would further erode the personal level of the community.

I don't see a general problem about merging different sections of Blizzard gaming into a conglomerate under one condition: it's one account, one database, and one administration. Like BeeR has said, for most members it will be the simple matter of a new Web address, and a few new community members.

My only opinion about doing this: No.

First off, to the indivudals who were recently accessed over at CC. The forums are private for a reason. Failure to realize this, and you will lose access.

And to everyone who wants to seperate SC and WC3. I hope you realize that when and if SC2 comes out, the WC3 modders will have the easiest time moving over to SC2. Want to marginalize and ignore wc3 modding? You are shooting yourselves in the foot.

And to anyone else who opposes this, please realize that some of the information here is outright wrong, and outdated.

He's right.

I'm locking this on request. It's not censorship, but we'll keep you updated on any developments. At this point, we are simply discussing possibilities and it's not something to get worked up about. biggrin.gif
