That's why this all had to come to this.  At least, partially.

I see no problems other then LW's OSMAP spammage.

Edit: I talked to IP and it seems i can cover the cost around october till the day i die. So lets party.

Im going to have my last words on SEN, and follow moose's example. Its the best i can think of for such an occasion. I mean, what song do you play when SEN is burning to the ground?

QUOTE("Pulse 44 - No It Isn't")
Please understand
This isn't just goodbye
This is I cant stand you
This is where the road crashed into the ocean
It rises all around me
And now we're barely breathing
A thousand faces we'll choose to ignore

[chorus]
Curse my enemies forever
Lets slit our wrists and burn down something beautiful
This desperation leaves me overjoyed
With fading lights that leads us past the lives that we destroy

I listen to you cry
I cry for less attention
But both my hands are tied
And I'm pushed into the deep end
I listen to you talk but talk is cheap
And my mouth is filled with blood
From trying not to speak
So search for an excuse
And someone to believe you
In foreign dressing rooms
I'm empty with the need to

[chorus]
Curse my enemies forever
Lets slit our wrists and burn down something beautiful
This desperation is leaving me overjoyed
With fading lights that leads us past the lives that we destroy

Please understand
This isn't just goodbye
This is I cant stand you

Yoshi, if SEN was in a crap state there's probably two main reasons for it:
  • You left SEN without much of a transition or anything, so you couldn't have really expected for it to have jumped back up so easily did you?
  • Not only you, but a lot of other elites left at roughly the same time or some time after (myself included). Not all permanently, though, but long enough to make an effect.
With not one but two major morale hits like that, you really think it's the staff's fault for what's happened lately?

I've been trying to do my part to help see things back to normal, but making a new site is not only going to partly undermine that, it's also going to divide us up (again). I thought we were done with that nonsense.

Frankly though, I've yet to decide my full stance on this issue. But to be honest, at this point, from what I'm reading, I don't think either you or IP should be in charge anymore. You're both taking this too damn personally for whatever your reasons, and I don't think that makes either of you fit to be hosts. If you're gonna use community sites as your chess pieces, I think you're both being highly irresponsible. I would have nothing against either of you continuing as programmers or co-admins or whatever, but perhaps you should at least put aside your differences long enough to try to find a more neutral party to do the actual hosting, and stick with just improving the site instead of breaking it apart.

You have some hand in this, don't you? Talk about being immature...

Legacy doesn't care if SEN lives or dies, and he'd prefer death. He is building the site that's supposed to replace SEN. It will be using the Latova software, coded by Yoshi. Talk about a conspiracy.

Yeah, so I heard. Even if you were to create an inherently superior site Yoshi... what then? Do you think everything'd go back to being peachy keen like it once was? You think this'll all just wash over with no harm done?

This community is still alive and active, but it's been hurting lately (mainly because of this current nonsense). It's had its ups and downs, though, but it's not like it once was. Blizzard has been lolligagging with SC's continuity long enough now that our community is basically hitting a kind of threshold, and I don't think we'd fully recover from taking any new hits like this. Please rethink what you guys are doing here.

Eh. Nothing's going to happen. SEN is going to still be up long after this topic dies. We all know it. Just a bunch of immature bickering and arguing.

I won't go into all the details... but since Yoshi left, I've been paying for this site to exist and dedicated enormous amounts of free time when available. Things got wild in my life here and there, and when things settled down, I spent my free time here. This is another one of those free times. I was ready to dedicated a lot more time than I have been recently.

My problem, though, was Yoshi's recent anger over Moose's actions in regarding OSMAP and LW. I feared, more than ever that my time and work (along with everyone elses) with this website would just be killed because of some stupid reason. He didn't agree with this... or with that... and boom... staredit.net dies.

Now, mind you, I was always promised the domain after I wanted it, a while ago. Last I heard, it was after his site launched. As long as I "protected" him anyways.

QUOTE
[11:54] Michael Lat: and as I said, if when I launch, everything goes okay, and the people of SEN don't treat it like SEN number 2, then I'll give you full access
[11:54] isolatedpurity@hotmail.com: Alright...
[11:55] isolatedpurity@hotmail.com: full access being complete transfer?
[11:55] Michael Lat: because then I'll see that you're capable of handling things that potentially threaten me, and that I can trust you
[11:55] Michael Lat: yes, complete transfer

But more recently:

QUOTE
[15:28] isolatedpurity@hotmail.com: smile.gif are you ever going to transfer the domain?
[15:28] Michael Lat: never.
[15:28] isolatedpurity@hotmail.com: really
[15:28] Michael Lat: you guys are betraying everything the website stood for

QUOTE
[15:32] Michael Lat: the people there tick me off
[15:32] Michael Lat: the people who are running it tick me off
[15:32] Michael Lat: the way the site is going is ticking me of
[15:33] Michael Lat: the exact reasons why I kept the domain and what I fear are already happening

Why dedicate yourself to something that is easily destroyed by someone else? He left me to make decisions... and in my absence, Moose made decisions. Those decisions didn't please him... so game over?

Yes, yes, private conversations... yes, yes... call me immature again. I'm trying to humiliate you? I'm not even trying to (although I could, but I won't). Like I said, I already took it to you privately... now I'm just letting SEN know why SEN dying. Or already has... DNS usually doesn't take 24 hours.

(First, let me say I hate capslock, I had to rewrite all of this)

Secondly, I've never been a really active user. My only real ties here were some SC friends (mostly Warhammer who I haven't seen in ages). But I've watched the news, tried to lurk but stay involved. I balked at some news, like the whole OSMAP controversy, but now this. It's sad today getting onto SC and not having all of my old friends log on. But life moves on. Back when my old clan was around, i had a blast every night on SC. But now each and every member of that clan has moved on. I haven't seen them for a whole 3 friggin years. But I remember.

But I also agree with Tux. What's with all of the infighting? You hope to unify the communities by splitting it apart? My homepage has been SEN as long as I can remember having FireFox. Something tells me I'll be changing that too.

SEN may have declined in quality but it's not past redemption. The circumstances may lead to a person specificly but it's not one person's fault for the communitie's decline. Each and every one of us is responsible in some way. SOme more than others, but each of us have patricipated in one way or another. I've lurker, Yoshi failed to speak his concerns and stop the problem before it really got bad, LW released OSMAP, and yadda yadda yadda.

So let's work together, all of us to get out of this sinkhole we've created.

And as for my last words on SEN:

MY LIFE FOR AUIR!!!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by JordanN_3335 on 2006-09-24 at 11:14:31
SEN can't die. Its a website for all people alike. Man this reminds of this other website/forum my bro belonged to.

Ah man its worst then I thought the website has been killed by him now. Well for those who don't know the clan ENJ (Eclispe Nova Jedi) it use to be a formidable clan for starwars outcast. But then eventually the admin/creator (Similar to the debate of Yoshi and IP) he wasnt interested in the clan so he was telling the members that he wants to quit it. So then the High leaders (similar to SENS elites and regulars) Protested about how it was still ok. So then some left and then he was still angry and just decided to quit like that. After he left so did the rest and then it left to die.

The only that remains its now an offline site. http://enj.hyperboards2.com/

Now the site is an empty ad. Could this be the end of SEN as we know it just like Clan ENJ?

What? SEN's going down? ermm.gif That's the message I'm getting out of this. I have to say, this seems almost like some kind of joke--but I don't think anyone would have the gall to pull something like this.

@Yoshi: When I first came to this site, I respected you, even though you hadn't been active in a while when I came. You made this forum and posted tons of guidelines, trying to enforce order. But now? You're threatening to kill the site because people are spamming and flaming? That seems somewhat extreme. You'll get rid of the entire community because you don't agree with our opinions? Not everyone is corrupt: why should you kill the innocent?
